The Study on niche creation mechanism of drama contents based on lead users - Focussing on drama Damo fandom community (드라마 콘텐츠의 리드 유저 기반 틈새 창출(niche creation) 메커니즘 연구 - 드라마 다모(茶母) 팬덤 커뮤니티를 중심으로)

  • Based on the case study methods, the study analyzes that the countless UCC Cloud cloud is the niche creation by the lead users make process. This research show as follows. First, The Drama lovers and fan fiction writers are not only drama consumers but UCC creators/producers. By the process that the UCC and fan fiction is tailored to meet the needs of their users create fan fiction in fandom community, they create an entirely different niche from original drama. Second, the flow(drama consumption/evaluation, viewers needs/adaption, the user's creation/production) which community's creative users make sequentially coevolutes with the flow(drama information offer, intentionally supply/diffusion, derivatives production) of media companies. Third, the drama fandom community activities which is non-commercial activities form the drama ecosystem with a new paradigm, as well as form a virtuous cycle inked to the market continuously beyond fun, play, empathy.

Knowledge Ecological Approach to Emergence of Korean Online-game Industry (한국 온라인게임 산업 부상의 지식생태계적 접근)

  • This study analyzes that Korea online-game emerges by naturally developed demanders, not by intentional suppliers(government/firms). Knowledge Ecological Approach is used to explain the emergence of Korea online-game industry. The research shows several knowledge factors that Korea online-game developed successfully. First, newly developed human resource(mainly lead users) play a strong positive feedback in the knowledge ecology system. The interactive system consists of social & environmental actors(local/global technological textbooks, universities, informal education institutes, companies etc.). Second, early developers start up venture firms through on/offline creative communities which give them project based job experience. Policy implication of the research is that the naturally emerged knowledge ecology, where various actors interact efficiently, determines the fountain new industry rather than discontinuous, intentional physical resources.

  • The aim of this study is to shed light on the importance of female drivers, study their characteristics and needs, and create automobile designs in accordance with the study. The power of female consumers is greatly increasing in a modern society, To the extent that women became the core consumers. Companies are now turning their attention to female consumers in order to survive the fierce competition in the saturated markets. Moreover, it is becoming imperative for companies to actively develop products and services in female perspectives to meet the diversified needs of consumers. It is forecasted that vigorous research, analysis and understanding of the unique culture of women will be increasingly important now that women are emerging as core consumers. Only the companies that makes such efforts consistently can dominate the market. The automobile industry is not an exception. The world's major automobile companies including Volvo and Ford Motor Co. are keenly focusing on automobile exterior and interior designs for women. Korean companies are also designing cars that cater to women, starting with Lanos and Juliet of Daewoo Motors in 1998, yet specific and systematic research on the subject has not been made. This study aims to emphasize the power of female users, make a research and analysis on their needs and characteristics, and suggest car interior designs that cater to them.

A Study on the Kiosk UI Reflecting the Elderly's Characteristics (고령자의 특성을 반영한 패스트푸드점 키오스크 UI 연구)

  • This study was conducted to improve the use experience of elderly people in fast food kiosks which are actively utilizing 'un-tact' technology. First, the Kiosk design analysis criteria were discussed through literature research. Then, the UI screens of McDonald's, Lotteria and Burger King, which are currently serving kiosks in Korea, were divided into colors, layouts and buttons. Next, the usability evaluation and survey of the elderly revealed problems with the interface design of the current kiosk. As a result, older people do not recognize buttons without an outline as buttons, and errors occur when layout changes or when viewing is complicated. In addition, horizontal navigation and vertical layout menus were error-free, and the design of buttons was error-free with the same color for the same function. Research shows that the Kiosk UI design is preferred by older people. First, buttons in the form of outline or solid are recommended. Second, vertical binding of buttons combined with images and text is recommended. Third, the screen layout should be consistent with the direction of view flow and manipulation, and should avoid increasing the number of menus and information. Fourth, page navigation is recommended in horizontal form and menu arrangement is vertical form. Finally, buttons that perform the same function are efficient for buttons to use the same color, and for different functions, applying a complementary colors can reduce confusion.
