A Study on the effect of Learning organization activities on the Job burnout -Trustworthiness as a Moderating variable- (학습조직활동이 직무소진에 미치는 영향 -상사 신뢰성의 조절효과를 중심으로-)

  • This study examined the impact of learning organization activities on burnout and the moderating effect of supervisor trust in a learning organization. The results of the study shows that among the activities of a learning organization, independent variables in this study, promoting inquiry and dialogue as well as encouraging collaboration and team learning affect burnout. In other words, the dedication of an organization to creating a culture in which various learning approaches are experimented through questioning and giving feedback as well as collaborative learning that can reinforce the effective use of team resources have an impact on reducing emotional exhaustion, which is considered to be at the core of burnout. Plus, these factors reduce impersonalization, which is activated to prevent further emotional exhaustion by dealing with customers, colleagues and jobs in a cold, negative and perfunctory way. In this study, the dimensions of promoting inquiry and dialogue as well as encouraging collaboration and team learning were found to reduce the decline in personal sense of achievement of an employee with a negative assessment of himself or herself derived from a lack of achievement in his or her job. Supervisor trust (integrity, benevolence and ability) had a moderating effect on the relationship between strategic learning leadership and impersonalization/emotional exhaustion. This suggests that the trust of supervisor helps mediate and moderate the emotional exhaustion and impersonalization of organizational members by encouraging leaders to drive change and take the organization to a new direction. The study has provided implications that communication plays an important role in reducing burnout in the learning context such as positive, appreciative inquiry and feedback analysis to identify strength, and that supervisor trust is critical in order to ensure strategic learning leadership exerts greater influence on the organization.

  • Some Volunteer Fire-Fighting Teams (VFFTs) play an important role in Civilian Volunteer Disaster Prevention by being managed effectively, but the others do not. There can be many cause-analyses about this difference. VFFTs aren't a profit-making organization and are a group which has no compulsion. So it is important that who the leader is, and what type of leadership he has. Furthermore VFFTs have hierarchy like fire-fighting teams and so the leader's command and judgement bring about the actual distinction in the organizational operation. Under this background, the survey has been carried out on the trust of leader and leadership type which may maximize the organization commitment. Consequently, to make efficiency of District Disaster & Volunteer Aid Network increase by augmenting organization commitment. The leader of VFFTs should get the transformational leadership rather than transactional leadership and have paternal or democratic leadership in the decision-making process. Especially we have to create a traditional and unique korean Volunteer fire-fighting organization culture through paternal leadership. Additionally, the trust on leaders should be recognized as a fundamental factor to obtain more performances beyond expectation by increasing the success and output of the team, mutual understanding and cooperation.

Secure Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID System without Online Back-End-Database (온라인 백-엔드-데이터베이스가 없는 안전한 RFID 상호 인증 프로토콜)

  • RFID is one of useful identification technology in ubiquitous environments which can be a replacement of bar code. RFID is basically consisted of tag, reader, which is for perception of the tag, and back-end-database for saving the information of tags. Although the usage of mobile readers in cellular phone or PDA increases, related studies are not enough to be secure for practical environments. There are many factors for using mobile leaders, instead of static leaders. In mobile reader environments, before constructing the secure protocol, we must consider these problems: 1) easy to lose the mobile reader 2) hard to keep the connection with back-end-database because of communication obstacle, the limitation of communication range, and so on. To find the solution against those problems, Han et al. suggest RFID mutual authentication protocol without back-end-database environment. However Han et al.'s protocol is able to be traced tag location by using eavesdropping, spoofing, and replay attack. Passive tag based on low cost is required lots of communication unsuitably. Hence, we analyze some vulnerabilities of Han et al.'s protocol and suggest RFID mutual authentication protocol without online back-end-database in aspect of efficiency and security.

The Study of Korean-style Leadership (The Great Cause?Oriented and Confidence-Oriented Leadership) (대의와 신뢰 중시의 한국형 리더십 연구)

  • This research analyzes some Korean historical figures and presents the core values of their leaderships so that we can bring up the theory of leadership which would be compatible with the current circumstances around Korea. Through this work, we expected that we would not only find out typical examples among historical leaders but also reaffirm our identities in our history. As a result of the research, it was possible to classify some figures in history into several patterns and discover their archetypal qualities. Those qualities were 'transform(實事)', 'challenge(決死)', 'energize(風流)', 'create(創案)', and 'envision(開新)' respectively. Among the qualities, this research concentrated on the quality of 'challenge', exclusively 'death-defying spirit'. This spirit is the one with which historical leaders could sacrifice their lives for their great causes. This research selected twelve figures as incarnations of death-defying spirit, who are Gyebaek(階伯), Ganggamchan(姜邯贊), Euljimundeok(乙支文德), Choeyoung(崔瑩),ChungMongju(鄭夢周), Seongsammun (成三問), Yisunsin(李舜臣), Gwakjaewoo(郭再祐), Choeikhyeon(崔益鉉), Anjunggeun(安重根), Yunbonggil(尹奉吉), Yijun(李儁). Through analyzing their core values and abilities and categorizing some historical cases into four spheres such as a private sphere, relations sphere, a community sphere, and a society sphere, we came to find a certain element in common among those figures. It was that they eventually took the lead by showing the goal and the ideal to their people at all times. Moreover, their goals were always not only obvious but also unwavering. In the second chapter, I described the core value in a private sphere, so called '志靑靑'. It implies that a leader should set his ultimate goal and then try to attain it with an unyielding will. Obvious self-confidence and unfailing self-creed are core values in a private sphere. In the third chapter, I described the core value in a relative sphere, the relationship between one and others. It is '守信結義'. It indicates that a leader should win confidence from others by discharging his duties in the relation with others. Confidence is the highest leveled affection to others. Thus, mutual reliance should be based on truthful sincerity and affection toward others. Stubbornness and strictness are needed not to be prompted by pity simultaneously. In the fourth chapter, I described the core value in a community sphere. It is '丹心合力'. For this value, what are required to a leader are both his community spirit and his loyalty to one's community. Moreover, the strong sense of responsibility and the attitude of taking an initiative among others are also required. Thus, it can be said that the great power to conduct the community is so called fine teamwork. What's more, the attitude of the leader can exert a great influence on his community. In the fifth chapter, I described the core value of death defying spirit in the society sphere. This value might be more definite and explicit than other ones described above. A leader should prepare willingly for one's death to fulfill his great duties. 'What to do' is more important for a leader than 'how to do'. That is to say, a leader should always do righteous things. Efficiency is nothing but one of his interests. A leader must be the one who behaves himself always according to righteousness. Unless a leader's behaviors are based on righteousness, it is absolutely impossible that a leader exerts his leadership toward people very efficiently. Thus, it can be said that a true leader is the one not only who is of morality and but also who tries to fulfill his duties.

  • Interpersonal trust is the mutual "faithfulness" on which all social relationship ultimately depend and applicable to the relations among people rather than to their psychological states taken individually. Recent development in the organizational sciences reflect the importance of interpersonal trust relationships for sustaining individual and organizational effectiveness, researchers have recongnized trust's influence on coordination and control at both institutional and interpersonal levels of organization. Because economic action is embeded within networks of social relationships. researchers have argued that efficiency within complex systems of coordinated action is only possible when interdependent actors work together effectively. Thus, for managers and professionals in organizations, developing and maintaining trust relationship is especially import. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the mechanism of interpersonal trust in the organization. The Impact of Emotional Leadership on Employees' Creativity: The Mediation Effect of Organizational Trust and Intrinsic Motivation (감성리더십이 조직원 창의성에 미치는 영향: 조직신뢰와 내재적동기의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediation effect of organizational trust and intrinsic motivation in the relationship between emotional leadership and creativity, suggesting the importance of organizational creativity. Therefore, this study conducted a survey for employees who are working at Korean ICT firms, analyzed the relationship with 241 valid samples, and verified hypotheses using PLS-SEM. The results are as follows. First, emotional leadership had a positive effect on organizational trust. Second, organizational trust had a positive effect on the intrinsic motivation of employees. Third, intrinsic motivation had a positive impact on employees' creativity. Fourth, the organizational trust did not have a positive effect on the creativity of employees. By verifying the mediation effects of organizational trust and intrinsic motivation, this study analyzed the relationship between emotional leadership and creativity, expanding the existing studies of the leadership.

Effect of the leader's behavioral integrity on the trust in leaders and voice behavior of the Members -moderating effect of phychological safety- (상사의 언행일치가 상사신뢰와 구성원의 발언행동에 미치는 영향 -심리적 안전감의 조절효과-)

  • This study confirmed the effects of leaders' behavioral integrity on organizational members' voice behavior. It verified whether trust in leaders mediates behavioral integrity and voice behavior and ascertained the moderating effect of members' psychological safety on trust in leaders and members' voice behavior through leaders' behavioral integrity. It targeted organizational members in the service industry, including insurance, securities, banks, consulting, and credit card companies, with a questionnaire survey carried out with 424 response copies. The study results confirmed a significant and positive effect of leaders' behavioral integrity on trust in leaders and voice behaviors. Second, trust in leaders was found to mediate between leaders' behavioral integrity and members' voice behavior. Third, members' psychological safety had a moderating effect on trust in leaders and members' voice behavior. When psychological safety was higher than average, there was a moderated mediating effect of psychological safety in the behavioral integrity on voice behavior with trust mediation in leaders. Therefore, this study has significance in that it was determined that trust in leaders and the psychological safety of the members are essential for leaders' behavioral integrity to enhance members' voice behavior.
