차세대 로터 블레이드 형상정의 및 공력소음 해석

  • In this study, a rotor planform shape with high performance and low noise has been designed and its aerodynamic and aeroacoustic characteristics are analysed. First of all, rotor blade planform with low noise characteristics, has been designed based on the paddle-shape blade by applying vane-tip concept. Finally, noise characteristics of the designed next-generation rotor blade have been investigated and the results are compared with those of BERP blade.

  • 주파수 영역에서 로터의 thickness noise는 블레이드의 여러가지 기하학적인 조건, 즉 블레이드 수, 블레이드의 사잇각, 에어포일의 모양 그리고 반경방향의 블레이드 끝모양에 따라서 해석되어진다. 본 논문은 비 등간격 로터의 기하학적 조건에 따른 음신호의 위상간섭 영향을 고찰하기 위해서 등간격을 이루는 로터에 대해서 해석된 Hanson의 방법을 확장하였다. thickness noise를 6개의 블레이드를 가진 로터에 대하여 15.deg., 30.deg., 45.deg., 비 등간격을 이루는 경우와 각각에 45 tip angle로 sweepback되었을 때 먼 거리의 음향학적 음신호와 그 스펙트럼을 계산하였다.

  • Generally, modeling procedure of cross section of composite rotor blade is complicated and time-consuming, because it is made up of various stiffeners and multiple layers of composite materials. For efficient modeling of cross section of composite rotor blade, a modeling program so called KSec2D, which provides a user friendly GUI, is developed by using a 2D modeling algorithm based on set operation. By the developed program KSec2D, a modeling of complicated cross section of rotor blade is carried out. Through the demonstration, the usefulness of developed program in modeling procedure of cross section of composite rotor blade is verified.

  • numerical study on the coupled fluid-structure for a rotor blade in hover was conducted. Computational fluid dynamics code with enhanced wake-capturing capability is coupled with a simple structural dynamics code based on Euler-Bernoulli's beam equation. The numerical results show a reasonable blade structural deformation and aerodynamic characteristics.

  • These days, the coaxial rotor system is used for various purposes like UAVs, Mars exploration helicopters, and the next-generation high-speed rotorcraft. A number of research projects on aerodynamic performance of rotor systems, including the coaxial configuration have been made previously. On the contrary, research on rotor blade deformation has been mainly carried out regarding the single rotor system, where such effort has not been enough on the coaxial system. Nonetheless, in case of the coaxial system, blade deformation analysis is much more important because of the complex air flow around the rotors, and that the distance between the two rotors is a key factor affects aerodynamic performance of the entire system. For these reasons, an experimental study on rotor blade deformation of the coaxial system was conducted using the Stereo Pattern Recognition(SPR) technique, one of the state-of-the-art of photogrammetry method. In this research, a small-scale coaxial rotor test stand designed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI) was used. With the same test stand, performance of the coaxial configuration had been studied before the experimental study on blade deformation, in order to find the relation between performance and blade deformation of the rotor system. Results of the performance test and the deformation study are presented in this article.

Blade Analysis Library Development of Dimension Reducible Modeling and Recovery Analysis for Composite Rotor Blades (복합재 로터 블레이드의 차원축소와 복원해석을 위한 블레이드 해석 라이브러리 개발)

  • In this paper, numerical results of sectional analysis and stress recovery were compared with the results of VABS through the blade analysis library. The results of recovery analysis for one-dimensional model including the stiffness matrix is compared with the calculated three-dimensional stress results of three-dimensionial FEM based on the principle of virtual work. We discuss the configuration of the blade analysis library and compare verifications of numerical analysis results of VABS. Blade analysis library through dimensional reduction and stress recovery is intended to be utilized in conjunction with pre- and post-processing of the analysis program of the composite blade, high-altitude uav's wing, wind blades and tilt rotor blade.

  • This paper presents the work being carried out in order to deduce hover performance of a small-scale single rotor blade as a preliminary study of a small coaxial rotor helicopter development. As an initial research, a test stand capable of measuring thrust and torque of a small-scale rotor blade in hover state was constructed and fabricated. The test stand consists of three parts; a rotating device, a load measuring sensor and a data acquisition system. Thrust and torque were measured with varying collective pitch angle at fixed RPM. Through this research, hover performance tests were conducted for a small-scale single rotor blade operating in low Reynolds number ($Re\;{\approx}3{\times}10^5$), as well as for verifying the test stand itself for acquiring hover performance.

Shape design and flow analysis on a 200W-class gyromill type vertical axis wind turbine rotor blade (200 W급 자이로밀형 수직축 풍력터빈 로터 블레이드 형상설계 및 유동해석)

  • This study is focused on the shape design and flow analysis on a 200 W-class Gyromill type vertical axis wind turbine rotor blade. Single tube theory is adopted for the shape design of the turbine blade. 2-dimensional CFD analysis is conducted to examine the turbine performance with basic shape, and then 3-dimensional shape is determined from the examination of the performance. By the CFD analysis on the 3-dimensional shape of the wind turbine, performance of the turbine is examined and also, shape of the wind turbine rotor blade is determined accordingly. From the results of this study, a 200 W-class Gyromill type vertical axis wind turbine rotor blade is designed and the reliability of the design method is confirmed by CFD analysis.

  • This paper contains the development procedure of small-scaled composite rotor blade for helicopter hingeless rotor system. Composite blade design is conducted by using CORDAS program developed by KARI and dynamic analysis is conducted by using Flightlab which is commercial software for helicopter analysis. Also the optimizing procedure of iterative design was described. The designed composite blades were manufactured after establishing the effective curing method. Through this research, the experiences of composite rotor blade development were accumulated and will be applied to the related research field.

  • In the present paper, a new version of DYMORE, which is an analysis to solve a nonlinear multi-body dynamics problem, is used to simulate an Individual Blade Control (IBC) algorithm in order to reduce vibration in helicopter rotors. The Active Twist Rotor (ATR), in which Active Fiber Composites (AFC) are embedded, is utilized for IBC. The main purpose of the present investigation is to compare the analytical results with experiments and previous version of DYMORE. The experiments are performed at NASA Langley Transonic Dynamics Tunnel. According to the present result, it is observed that the correlation regarding the vibratory loads is improved.
