Numerical Study of the Supersonic Turbine Rotor Tip Variation Effect on the Turbine Performance (로터 팁 간극이 초음속 터빈 성능에 미치는 영향에 대한 전산해석 연구)

  • Three dimensional numerical analysis of the supersonic turbines with different rotor tip clearances was conducted to analyze the effect of the tip gap clearance variations on the turbine performance. The result showed that the turbine performance deteriorates and the tip leakage increases by the effect of the rotor tip clearance and the tip leakage affects turbine performance degradation dominantly.

  • Performance variation of autorotating rotor was investigated. The shaft angle of the rotor is reduced while the flight velocity is increased. The BO-105 helicopter rotor blade was replaced by untwisted NACA 0012 airfoil and the rotor was simulated by using Transient Simulation Method(TSM) to judge the autorotation region for the variables. To simulate the compressibility effect at high speed flight, two-dimensional aerodynamic data was analyzed by compressible Navier-Stokes solver and Pitt/Peters inflow theory was adopted to simulate the induced velocity field. Thrust and lift coefficients, lift to drag ratio variations were investigated, also the lift and power were compared to those of BO-105 helicopter. Sharing lift and power between the autorotating rotor and wing was considered when the compound aircraft concept is introduced.

  • By employing vane tip concept, a new rotor blade (NRSB-I) has been designed to enhance the noise characteristics of BERP blade. Numerical analyses have been performed for hovering rotor and the results are compared with respect to those of original BERP blade. Although the thrust of designed rotor decreases by 6-7% due to cutout at the tip region, the results indicate that the actual performance loss is negligible because power reduction is greater than thrust loss. It is also found that aerodynamic fence is required at the outboard kink to obtain clearly separated twin-vortices because the vortex generated at kink is diffused during the convection over the blade surface.

  • The rotor blade of helicopter is the core component determining helicopter performance and requiring low noise and low vibration because the blade becomes the major source of noise during flight. The performance analysis of candidates rotor blades is very critical because LCH(Light Civil Helicopter) will be developed parallel with LAH(Light Armed Helicopter) as an international upgrade program based on the existing platform of foreign civil helicopter. This research was aimed to recognize the performance of the candidates rotor blades compared with the newly developed foreign rotor blades and to investigate the feasibility about developing korea unique shape rotor blades by analysis the rotor performance and noise. The result of this research can be used for the target performance index during negotiation with foreign helicopter company and developing korea unique shape rotor blades.

  • This paper presents the results of study for improving the reliability of quadrotor attitude control by applying a multi-sensor along with a data fusion algorithm. First, a mathematical model of the quadrotor dynamics was developed. Then, using the quadrotor mathematical model, simulations were performed using the improved reliability multi-sensor data as the inputs. From the simulation results, we designed a Gimbal-equipped quadrotor system. With the quadrotor in a hover state, we performed experiments according to the angle change of the user's specifications. We then calculated the attitude control data from the actual experimental data. Furthermore, with additional simulations, we verified the performance of the designed quadrotor attitude control system with multiple sensors.

  • This study is focused on the shape design and flow analysis on a 200 W-class Gyromill type vertical axis wind turbine rotor blade. Single tube theory is adopted for the shape design of the turbine blade. 2-dimensional CFD analysis is conducted to examine the turbine performance with basic shape, and then 3-dimensional shape is determined from the examination of the performance. By the CFD analysis on the 3-dimensional shape of the wind turbine, performance of the turbine is examined and also, shape of the wind turbine rotor blade is determined accordingly. From the results of this study, a 200 W-class Gyromill type vertical axis wind turbine rotor blade is designed and the reliability of the design method is confirmed by CFD analysis.

A Rotating Balance Design and Performance Estimation for a Rotor Test Jig (로터 실험 장치용 Rotating Balance의 설계 및 성능 검증에 관한 연구)

  • In this study a 3-component rotating balance, which is designed to measure the thrust (Fz) and two moment components (Mx, My) simultaneously for a rotor test jig, is designed and its performance is validated experimentally. The low voltage signal from the strain gages mounted on the balance is amplified with a rotating amplifier, which is then fed through a slip-ring unit into the data acquisition system. In order to validate the accuracy of the calibration matrix obtained from a static calibration test, an additional reaction type balance is used to measure the thrust from a model rotor simultaneously, and shows very good result. Finally, the expanded uncertainty value, which is obtained from ISO method is estimated to be $2.82\times10^{-1}$, and the balance turns out to be reliable.

  • Landing site searching algorithms are developed for a quadrotor using a depth map in unknown environment. Guidance and control system of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) consists of a trajectory planner, a position and an attitude controller. Landing site is selected based on the information of the depth map which is acquired by a stereo vision sensor attached on the gimbal system pointing downwards. Flatness information is obtained by the maximum depth difference of a predefined depth map region, and the distance from the UAV is also considered. This study proposes three landing methods and compares their performance using various indices such as UAV travel distance, map accuracy, obstacle response time etc.

  • 본 눈문은 쿼드로터 무인항공기의 모델링 및 제어기 설계에 대해서 논의한다. 라그랑지안 방정식을 이용하여 쿼드로터 무인항공기 시스템을 모델링하며, 실험을 통해 모델 파라미터를 결정한다. 쿼드로터 모델과 구해진 파라미터 값을 PID 제어 기법과 동적표면제어기법을 이용하여 쿼드로터 무인항공기의 제어기를 설계한다. 마지막으로, 모의실험을 통해 PID 제어기와 본 논문에서 제안한 동적표면 제어기의 성능을 비교하고, 제안한 제어기의 우수성을 입증한다.

  • 상반회전 풍력발전 시스템의 경우 전방에 위치한 로터의 후류 효과를 적절히 반영하여 설계에 이용해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 로터의 후류효과 및 블레이드의 실속후 모델을 고려하여 30kW급 상반회전시스템의 설계형상에 대한 검토연구를 수행하였다 기본공력이론은 모멘텀 이론과 2차원 준정상 공기력 이론을 통합한 형태를 사용하였다. 로터의 후류영향을 고려하기 위해 축소형 풍차 블레이드 모델에 대한 풍동시험 결과를 적절히 이용하며, 이로부터 보조로터를 지난 후류의 축속도 및 각속도 성분을 결정하였다. 최종적으로 상반회전 시스템의 로터 반경 및 상호 이격거리 등을 고려한 성능해석을 수행하고 이로부터 최적 설계형상에 대한 파라미터 연구결과를 제시하였다.
