  • In this research, we describe teaching based sweeping control for grinder robot has been proposed as a system which is suitable to work utilizing pressure sensitive alternative to human. Teaching method is used for grinder robots operations because of their position accuracy, path accuracy, and machining reaction force. A grinder robot for two-dimensional iron plate was developed on the basis of an force sensor based teaching method. An automatic-path-generation method and experimental results using specific points was adopted to reduce the number of teaching points and time. And also, in order to determine the proper machining conditions, various machining conditions such as grinder-wheel rotation speed and robot moving speed, were evaluated.

  • In this paper, we propose a high accurate geo-location system based on a single base station, where its location is obtained by Time-of-Arrival(ToA) and Direction-of-Arrival(DoA) of the radio signal. For estimating accurate ToA and DoA information, a MUltiple SIgnal Classification(MUSIC) is adopted. However, the estimation of ToA and DoA using MUSIC algorithm is a time-consuming process. The position tracking bias is occurred by the time delay caused by the estimation process. In order to mitigate the bias error, we propose the estimation method of the position tracking bias and compensate the location error produced by the time delay using the position tracking bias mitigation. For accurate self-localization of mobile robot, the Unscented Kalman Filter(UKF) with position tracking bias is applied. The simulation results show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed geo-location system and the enhanced performance when the Unscented Kalman Filter is adopted for mobile robot application.

  • Teleoperation is defined with a master device that gives control command and a slave robot in a remote site. In this field, it is common that a human operator executes and experiences teleoperation with a virtual slave, and preliminary learns dynamic characteristic and network environment from both agents. Generally, a virtual slave has neglected forward dynamics and its kinematic model has been implemented in computer graphics. This makes a operator to experience actual feelings. This paper proposes a dynamic teleoperation model in which a robotic forward model is applied. Also, a novel compensation method is proposed to reduce the numerical error problems in forward dynamics caused by low control sampling rate. Finally, its results will be compared to the teleoperation in an actual environment.

  • Mobile robots are effectively used in industrial fields that require flexible manufacturing systems. Mobile robots have to move with mechanical loads such as product parts along the specified paths, and are usually equipped with kinematic controllers. When the loads and nonlinear frictions are too high, satisfactory control performances can not be expected with the kinematic controllers, so some dynamic controllers have been developed. Conventional dynamic controllers require the exact weights and locations of the loads; however, the loads are frequently changed and unknown so that the control performances of the conventional controllers are limited. This paper proposes an adaptive PD control method using gradient descent learning to have sufficient dynamic control performance for unknown loads. Simulation studies have been conducted for various load conditions to verify that the adaptive PD control method have much broader convergence region than the convention method.

  • With the application of artificial intelligence technology, robots can provide efficient services in real life. Unlike industrial manipulators that do simple repetitive work, this study presented design methods of 6 degree of freedom robot arm and intelligent object search and movement methods for use alone or in collaboration with no place restrictions in the service robot field and verified performance. Using a depth camera and deep learning in the ROS environment of the embedded board included in the robot arm, the robot arm detects objects and moves to the object area through inverse kinematics analysis. In addition, when contacting an object, it was possible to accurately hold and move the object through the analysis of the force sensor value. To verify the performance of the manufactured robot arm, experiments were conducted on accurate positioning of objects through deep learning and image processing, motor control, and object separation, and finally robot arm was tested to separate various cups commonly used in cafes to check whether they actually operate.

  • This paper developed a home wellness robot platform to perform the roles in basic health care and life care in an aging society. A robotic platform and a sensory platform were implemented for an indoor wellness service. In the robotic platform, the precise mobility and the dexterous manipulation are not only developed in a symbiotic service-robot, but they also ensure the robot architecture of human friendliness. The mobile robot was made in the agile system, which consists of Omni-wheels. The manipulator was made in the anthropomorphic system to carry out dexterous handwork. In the sensing platform, RF tags and stereo camera were used for self and target localization. They were processed independently and cooperatively for accurate position and posture. The wellness robot platform was integrated in a real-time system. Finally, its good performance was confirmed through live indoor tests for health and life care.

  • An image processing algorithm is developed in order to recognize the type of cars, the position of a number plate and the characters on the plate. to recognize the type of cars, comparison of two images is used. One has a car image, the other is just a background image without car. After that recognition, a vertical line filter is used to find the location of the plate. Finally the simularity mehod is used to recognize the numbers on plates.

The controller uses input-output linearization algorithm and artificial neural network to stabilize the dynamic model and compensate uncertainties. The proposed neural network part has 6 inputs, 1 hidden layer, 2 torque outputs and features fast online learning and good performance on structure error learning basis. Simulation results show that the proposed controller perform precisely tracking of reference path and is robust to uncertainties.

  • The dynamics for a two-body problem including perturbations due to nonspherical gravitation of the earth, gravitation of the sun and moon, radiation of the sun is studied. Orbit determination was performed by SVD filter. The simulation result shows that the characteristics of the satellite orbit have east-west and south-north drift. Therefore, the periodic magnitude of the control time and value in the view of the periodicity of error can be provided, and this result can be basic data to a station keeping problem with an orbit determination result.
