Design of Force Control System for a Hydraulic Road Simulator Using Quantitative Feedback Theory (정량적 피드백 이론을 이용한 유압 로드 시뮬레이터에 관한 힘 제어계 설계)

  • This paper presents the road simulator control technology for reproducing the road input signal to implement the real road data. The simulator consists of the hydraulic pump, servo valve, hydraulic actuator and its control equipment. The QFT(Quantitative Feedback Theory) is utilized to control the simulator effectively. The control system illustrates a tracking performance of the closed-loop controller with low order transfer function G(s) and pre-filter F(s) for a parametric uncertain model. A force controller is designed to communicate the control signal between simulator and digital controller. Tracking specification is satisfied with upper and lower bound tolerances on the steep response of the system to the reference signal. The efficacy of the QFT force controller is verified through the numerical simulation, in which combined dynamics and actuation of the hydraulic servo system are tested. The simulation results show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The conventional software (Labview) is used to make up for the real controller in the real-time basis, and the experimental works show that the proposed algorithm works well for a single road simulator.

Realization Software Development of Road Profile for Multi-axial Road Simulator (다축 로드 시뮬레이터의 노면 프로파일 재현 소프트웨어 개발)

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial road simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in the real time. Futhermore, the software to generate the real road profile are developed. The validity of the software are verified by applying the belgian road, the city road, the highway, and the gravel road. The results of the above experiment show that the real road profiles are realized well after 10th iteration.

  • 본 논문에서는 로드 명령어 처리와 곱셈기의 구조를 개선한 ARM9 호환 마이크로프로세서를 설계하였으며, ARM9 마이크로프로세서와 비교하여 특정한 로드 명령어 수행 시 1 클록 사이클을 단축하였고, 곱셈명령어 수행 시 2 클록 사이클 단축하였다. 설계된 ARM9 프로세서는 VHDL로 기술하였으며, 명령어 시뮬레이션 결과 ARM9 마이크로프로세서 시뮬레이터와 실행 결과 값이 동일함을 확인하여 명령어 호환 검증을 하였으며, Xilinx FPGA를 이용하여 66MHz 동작환경에서 실시간 영상 처리 수행을 검증하였다.

  • RBFNNs(Radial Basis Function Neural Networks) 모델의 경우 Min-Max, HCM(Hard C-means)클러스터링 그리고 FCM(Fuzzy C-means)클러스터링 중 한가지를 통해 데이터 입자는 로드 규칙을 생성한 후 퍼지 공간을 분할 및 가우시안 함수의 정점을 정의한다. 본 논문은 기존의 방법과는 다르게 Min-Max와 FCM클러스터링을 혼합하여 로드의 규칙을 생성한 후 퍼지 공간을 분할 및 가우시안 함수의 정정을 정의하는 방법으로 사용하고자 한다. PSO최적화 알고리즘을 이용하여 같은조건에서 최적화한 기존의 방법으로 모델링된 RBFNNs와 Min-Max와 FCM 클러스터링을 혼합하여 사용한 방법의 비교를 통하여 어떤 모델의 성능이 더욱 좋은지 비교하고자 한다.

Generally, multi-axial road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The validity of the software are verified by applying the belgian road, the city road, the highway, and the gravel road. The results of the above experiment show that the real road profiles are realized well after loth iteration.

  • The road simulators have become common tools within the automotive industry for evaluation of vehicle and vehicle system durability performance. These simulators need appropriate input signal generation algorithms to realize the actual driving conditions due to non-linear vehicle and test rig behaviour. Although somewhat unconventional from a control standpoint, the iteration approach has proven to be a very effective method for control of complex, multiple degree-of-freedom systems where the tracking parameter is known a priori. In this paper, the road profile replication algorithm is verified by applying Belgian road to the developed road simulator. The simulation and experimental results are included to evaluate the performance of this simulator. This road simulator provides considerable savings in cost, development time, and testing risk during developing automotive components.

  • As the life cycle of the vehicle become shorter, the method that reduce the development time of new model become more important. In this reason, the development of the simulator that provides similar environment with the actual vehicle road characteristics is increasing. In this paper, the multi-axis simulator is designed and analyzed by kinematic method. The simulator has a function simulating the 3 load elements; vertical, longitudinal, and lateral force respectively and simultaneously. The result of this paper can be used for developing the multi-axis simulator linkage.

  • Test in the development of vehicle consist of driving test and simulation test. The last one has many advantages. It can reduce time and cost during development, can overcome the spacial and environmental limitation, and can provides repeatabilities of similar experiments and various data. In these reason, the simulation test is used more for analysis and development of new vehicle. In this research the result of kinematic analysis on multi-axis simulator is compared with the simulated result using dynamic analysis program, ADAMS, and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

  • 본 논문은 풍력 발전 출력 안정화 성능을 평가하기 위해서는 다양한 부하변동과 계통 사고에 대한 검증이 필수적이나, 실제로 다양한 조건에서 실증하기는 현실적으로 불가능하여, 본 논문에서는 축소형 시뮬레이터를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘 검증하고자 한다. 특히 전체구성의 적용을 위해 3상 농형 유도전동기를 통한 발전기의 출력을 유도하였으며 이를 위한 인버터를 사용하여 시뮬레이터를 구성하였고 지형별 특성에 맞는 데이터를 기반으로 풍력데이터를 입력하여 출력조건을 형성하였다. 또한 조상기와 덤프로드를 통해 부하의 출력변동분에 대한 계측과 분석에 초점을 맞추어 특성 계측이 가능하도록 구성할 수 있다.

Experimental Analysis of Bounce, Roll and Pitch Frequencies of Major Systems of a Large Truck using a Multi-axial Road Simulator (다축 로드 시뮬레이터를 이용한 대형트럭 주요 시스템의 바운스와 롤 및 피치 주파수의 실험적 분석)

  • This paper presents a scheme for experimentally analyzing bounce, roll and pitch frequencies of major systems of a large truck using a multi-axial road simulator. The excitation input (amplitude and frequency range) fur a frequency response test with the multi-axial road simulator is selected in order that bounce, roll and pitch modes are not coupled each other, the excitation amplitude can be reproduced in a specified excitation frequency range, and tires do not lose contact with posters. Three accelerometers, one gyroscope and four displacement meters are used in the frequency response test using the multi-axial road simulator. The reliability of the presented bounce mode frequency response test scheme is validated by comparing the result from a test using the multi-axial road simulator with the result from a road driving test. The road driving test is performed with velocities of 20km/h and 30km/h, and in an unladen state. The vertical accelerations at the cab and the front axle are measured in the road driving test. The roll and pitch mode frequency response tests are also performed with the presented frequency response test scheme. Roll and pitch frequencies of major systems of a large truck that are hard to acquire from a road driving test are analyzed as well as bounce frequency.
