This paper analyzes the concept of Lacanian subject and the structural definition of sexual difference between man and woman, and criticizes some problems of those definitions. It seems to me, to do so, that it is important to know precisely the core terms of psychoanalysis quoted by Lacan. We should analyze the basic meanings and the relation of the Imaginary, Symbolic and the Real, of ideal ego and ego ideal, of phallus and signifier, of desire and the other, of consciousness and unconsciousness, of alienation and separation, etc. I'm going to discuss the relation between the Imaginary and the ideal ego in chapter 2, and then, deal with the relation between the Symbolic and the ego ideal in chapter 3. I'll explain both similarity and difference between the ideal ego and ego ideal through those discussions. In chapter 4, I'm planning to explain the relation among the other, desire and the subject of unconsciousness. In chapter 5, I'll analyze the meaning of phallus and signifier. I'll criticize the Lacanian structural definition of sexual difference on the basis of the work made in former chapters. These discussions will lead to my final conclusion that the concept of Lacanian subject and the structural definition of sexual difference are only dependent on reductionism regarding everything as symbolic, which has in itself a lot of contradiction. In order that All discussions about sexual difference have at least a objective meaning, they have to rely on anatomical differences between man and woman.

According to Jacques Lacan, human desire stems from a primitive lack, This lack acts as a driving force, propelling humans to continually seek pleasure and satisfaction. Given its intricacies, the interplay between the subject's and the overall human desire is intricate, making complete realization of desire unattainable. Through Jacques Lacan's theory of desire, the researcher aims to explore the balance achieved as the subject in the movie navigates ideals, frustrations, and growth. This paper focuses on the analysis of the movie 'Parasite' using Amedeo Giorgi's phenomenological method. By doing so, the researcher seeks to uncover the essence of human desire, offering insights and a theoretical framework for cinematic creation.

The universe of discourse presented in the visual image is bound up with the experience and culture of parties; its sender and recipient. Signification of visual message is revealed through the mutual independent process. The mechanism where production of signifiant by sender and reception of metaphoric signifiant function unconsciously can be applied to Lacan's theory;"The unconscious is structured like a language". By applying Lacan's metaphoric formula which takes linguistic approach to visual image it is suggested that analysis of signification is possible. This analysis can be a base for seeking varied level of signifiant presented in visual metaphor logically and practically. Metaphoric structure of the signifiant and the matrix analysis can develop a creative idea and propose a practical way for the visual image production. Thus empirical study about nastic response and the future analysis result is expected to be possible.

This study, approaching through view of Lacan and Althusser, is focused on conflicts and struggles concerning anniversaries in our society. August 15, Korean War, March 1 and Provisional Government are selected as subjects of the study, examining aspects of commemorative Struggle and changing process to those subjects. Means of the study are used through theories of Lacan and Althusser.The result of the study is analyzed that commemorative Struggle set up a starting point as the early modernization in the late 19th century. In other words, influence of modernization, which has been built up with a high hand though Japanese occupation, caused trauma and cracks. And this has been generated social conflicts, joining with ideology and fantasy. Converged point of this is Anniversary. If Anniversary and commemorative Struggle were inevitable to be existed as a phenomenon about social memory in the past, willpower heading to future should be reviewed through those days, to fill cracks of the society, not to return to the splitting past.

Cyberspace is created through the confluence of global electronic communications networks and technology, and also meant to be a three-dimensional space of information. Its application in arts, however, requires broader views and knowledge and often results a confounded definition of it. The study is to define cyberspace and the architecture in it, with the methodology of the structural criticism, focusing the textuality without any impression or intuition to reach its valid epistemic definition. Two architects in cyberspace; Novak and Lynn, and their works have been discussed and analyzed reflecting Benedikt's theory of cyberspace which has coined its definition in architecture in early 90's. Lacan's subject theory, including the mirror stage, has played a key role to evaluate the identities and the differences of various views towards cyberspace. It also enables us to construe the on-going status and meaning of cyberspace and the architecture In it.

Moebius' L,INCAL Analysis of 'self' and 'self-consciousness' in philosophic viewpoint. In this research, I studies and analyzed Mobius' L,INCAL who had affected revitalization of Europe and America's genre cartoon and graphic novel. Among the L,INCAL. I selected some parts which are related to 'self' and 'self-consciousness' of 융(Jung), 라캉(Lacan), chaos theory Because it is too extensive for me to do this. Cartoons filled with philosophy is likely to have a possibility to be seen by adults. The goal of this study is to make a coner stone which all the classes can enjoy various cultures with.

This paper aims to not giving one time pleasure nor curiosity, but applying and sharing philosophical discourse for contemporary citizens with reflectivity in a realm of media art. This paper shows the result from the class which the author conducted with philosophical discourse, case analysis, ideation and progress into practical works. Through the process of doing ideation and realization of media art work with students, this paper shows that theory and practice can be harmonized and penetrated into deeper level with diverse interface experiments.

Lacan's Identification theory has been applied to various cultural genres such as literature, film, media so on. Especially, Identification theory in Film Theory gives game researchers who try to apply identification theory to the game, a concrete base. This paper aims to explain the gamer's action through identification theory. Thus, we divide identification into the level of the gamer's point of view and that of the character in game text. While point-on-view of identification, the primary identification, in film has been explained that the audience identifies with camera's point-of view, in game one identifies with various point-of-views. There are two aspects of Identification of characters in game. First, gamers identify themselves with moving images on screen. Second, They identify with the roles given to themselves. The factors which allow them identification are suppression of false statement system, interpolation and process of selection, arrangement, a cursor, colours on screen.

This study aimeds to reinterpret Jacques Lacan's concept of jouissance as a creative driving force in contemporary fashion design and to analyze Rei Kawakubo's radical designs through this lens. Lacan's jouissance is a complex concept that, transcends general pleasure theory. It has gained attention in sociocultural contexts where conventional phenomena are difficult to explain. This approach has proven especially valuable in analyzing artistic developments that defy interpretation through existing aesthetic theories. In this research, I derived three aspects of jouissance: 'pleasure of pain', 'pleasure of forbidden', and 'pleasure of lack'. I then used them to analyzed Rei Kawakubo's designs. Specifically, I systematically analyzed Kawakubo's avant-garde and unconventional designs appearing in each collection by interpreting baffle and uncomfortable designs as 'pleasure of pain', departure from existing fashion conventions as 'pleasure of forbidden', and infinite creative drive as 'pleasure of lack'. Regarding the significance of this study, it explored how the concept of 'pleasure', a fundamental human desire, was reflected in contemporary fashion design. It also presents a new perspective that reinterprets jouissance as a fundamental driving force in fashion design. This approach strengthens the view of fashion design as a medium, reflecting human needs and desires. It can contributes to designers exploring more fundamental sources of inspiration in their creative processes. By introducing a psychoanalytic perspective to fashion design research, this approach is expected to present novel possibilities for interdisciplinary research and contribute to expanding the theoretical horizon of fashion design.

The purpose of this study is to interpret Korean traditional space as text on the basis of Structuralism. The process of this study is illustrated as follows: At first, this research contains basic concepts and theories of Structuralism and discusses the possibilities of typological approaches in Korean traditional space interpretation. Secondly, As typological structure of traditional space, spacial and visual expressive characteristics in traditional residential space based on traditional thoughts of Koreans formed with inherent consciousness are considered with Hjelmslev's Structuralism and Wonhyo's Whajaeng theory. Finally, This study tries conceptual analysis based on Lacan's Metaphor and Metonymy emerged from unconscious mechanisms about interpretation and induction of the traditional spacial structure for contemporary Application. Structure is a group of elements forming a covariant ensemble. From this point of view, this study validates that texts are understood when methods that bring back to the creative processes and intentions are found by Text Hermeneutics.
