  • 센트럴 파킹은 견고한 라우팅 스위치를 도입함으로써 노후된 네트워크를 깨끗이 뜯어 고쳤으며 Y2K문제의 해결과 함께 매우 효율적인 관리 시스템을 구현했다. 센트럴 파킹은 자사의 네트워크가 Y2K 호환에 문제가 있음을 인식, 98년 와덴의 주도하에 네트워크 개선 작업에 착수하게 되었다. 그러나 문제는 생각보다 심각해서 네트워크의 전면적인 재정비가 필요하다는 문제점에 직면하게 되었다. 하지만 문제점을 해결하기 위한 센트럴 파킹의 노력은 그 결실을 봄과 동시에 새로운 네트워크를 통한 많은 효과를 보고 있는 기업으로 변신하는데 성공했다.

  • 기존의 인터넷 망은 대부분 최선형 서비스를 지원하고 있어 다양한 서비스 품질을 요구하는 사용자의 요구를 만족시키기에는 어려움이 있었으며, 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 ATM 스위치 기반의 MPLS 망이 구상되었다. ATM 스위치를 기반으로 하는 MPLS 망은 기존 ATM 망에 간단한 L3 라우팅 모듈을 추가하여 인터넷 서비스의 제공이 가능하고, 사용자에게 다양한 서비스 레벨을 지원 할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 MPLS 시스템에서 IP 주소 Lookup을 위한 Forwarding Engine에 대한 큐잉 모델을 설정하고, 인터넷에서 사용되는 프로토콜들에 대한 통계적인 분석을 수행하여, 트래픽 부하에 따른 Forwarding Engine의 성능을 분석하였다.

  • Magic Square는 자원 탐색을 제공하는 P2P 프로토콜이다. 그러나 복구비용이 높고 인접한 하나 이상의 노드가 고장났을 경우에는 복구하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 Magic Square의 복구를 위한 정보를 저장하는 복구 노드를 사용하였다. 복구 노드는 관리하는 영역 전체의 라우팅 테이블을 유지하기 때문에 노드가 고장이 나더라도 즉시 연결을 복구할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 시스템의 성능을 떨어뜨리지 않고 모든 링크 복구와 대부분의 자원 복구를 할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

  • Electronic commerce markets have been increasing rapidly, which has resulted in parallel growth in the door-to-door delivery service industry. The door-to-door delivery service industry is projected to be more competitive, due to the large amount of companies that are already established and the fact that several leading multinational logistics companies are rushing into the domestic market. This is a critical period for the companies which are attempting to obtain a competitive advantage. Previous research on door-to-door delivery services has been undertaken, in relation to strategic exploration, political proposals, and user satisfaction. However, there is a lack of practical studies focused on the information systems of door-to-door service companies and its decisive roles have been undertaken. This study aims to investigate, compare, and analyze the information systems of door-to-door delivery service companies. Also, the study proposes developmental direction of how the information systems should be improved. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, first, we examined previous research on door-to-door delivery services and their information systems. Second, we investigated and analyzed the information systems of four leading domestic companies by conducting interviews. Third, we compared and identified factors of the information systems that could be improved. Finally, we proposed its developmental direction. As a result of the study, the information systems of door-to-door delivery service companies required to provide classified services using diverse tools and develop the optimized routing model to reduce logistics costs.

  • 영상에 관련된 다양한 응용 시스템들을 구현하는 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔지만, 그러한 영상 관련 응용 시스템을 구현함에 있어서 처리속도의 저하로 인하여 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 대두된 여러 방법들 중에서 최근 하드웨어 접근 방법에 고려한 많은 관심과 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문은 영상을 실시간으로 처리하기 위하여 하드웨어 구조를 갖는 병렬처리시스템을 기술하며, 또한 병렬처리시스템을 얼굴 검색 시스템에 적용한 후 처리속도 및 실험 결과를 기술한다. 병렬처리시스템은 SIMD와 MIMD가 결합된 구조를 갖고 있기 때문에 다양한 영상 응용시스템에 대해서 융통성과 효율성을 제공하며, 144개의 처리기와 12개의 다중접근기억장치, 외부 메모리 모듈을 위한 인터페이스와 외부 프로세서 장치(i960Kx)와의 통신을 위한 인터페이스로 구성되어있다. 다중접근기억장치는 메모리 모듈선택회로, 데이터 라이팅회로, 그리고, 주소계산 및 라우팅회로로 구성되어 있다. 또한 얼굴 검색 시스템을 병렬처리 시스템에 적합한 병렬화를 제공하기 위해 메쉬방법을 이용하여 전처리, 정규화, 4개 특징값 추출, 그리고 분류화로 구성하였다. 병렬처리시스템은 하드웨어 모의실험 패키지인 CADENCE사의 Verilog-XL로 모의실험을 수행하여 기능과 성능을 검증하였다.

A Study on Wireless Home Network Platform for End-to-End Seamless Connection and TCP Performance Improvement (종단간 끊김없는 연결과 TCP 성능의 향상을 위한 무선 홈네트워크 플랫폼에 관한 연구)

  • A wireless access point is used for all communications in the infrastructure mode wireless home networking, including communication between mobile nodes in the same service area. When a mobile station in the infrastructure mode wireless home networking moves into a dead zone, the communication between the mobile station and the access point is disconnected. To solve this problem, the existing wireless home network platforms focus on the ad hoc mode wireless home networking. However, the performance of an ad hoc network is poorly decreased when the number of mobile participating in the ad hoc network increases. In addition, although the ad hoc routing technique is necessary to support seamless communication of mobile nodes, the existing routing protocols, such as AODV and DSR, do not consider that a wireless channel state could affect performance significantly. Therefore, we propose a wireless home networking platform based on the ESCOD (End-to-end Seamless multi-hop COnnection based on Dual network mode) technique incorporating the VLR (Virtual Link Routing) scheme that supports end-to-end seamless connections. Extensive experiments show that the proposed wireless home networking platform incorporating the VLR scheme outperforms wireless home networking platforms based on the AODV and the DSR routing protocols respectively in terms of low packet transmission failure rate, fast packet transmission time, high TCP performance, and a wider coverage area of wireless home networks.

Disjointed Multipath Routing for Real-time Multimedia Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크 환경에서 실시간 멀티미디어 데이터 전송을 위한 비-중첩 다중 경로 라우팅)

  • A variety of intelligent application using the sensor network system is being studied. In general, the sensor network consists of nodes which equipped with a variety of sensing module and is utilized to collect environment information. Recently, the demands of multimedia data are increasing due to the demands of more detailed environmental monitoring or high-quality data. In this paper, we overcome the limitations of low bandwidth in Zigbee-based sensor networks and propose a routing algorithm for real-time multimedia data transmission. In the previously proposed algorithm for multimedia data transmission occurs delay time of routing setup phase and has a low data transmission speed due to bandwidth limitations of Zigbee. In this paper, we propose the hybrid routing algorithm that consist of Zigbee and Bluetooth and solve the bandwidth problem of existing algorithm. We also propose the disjointed multipath setup algorithm based on competition that overcome delay time of routing setup phase in existing algorithm. To evaluate the superiority of the proposed algorithm, we compare it with the existing algorithm. Our experimental results show that the latency was reduced by approximately 78% and the communication speed is increased by approximately 6.9-fold.

High Performance SoC On-chip-bus Architecture with Multiple Channels and Simultaneous Routing (다중 채널과 동시 라우팅 기능을 갖는 고성능 SoC 온 칩 버스 구조)

  • Up to date, a lot of bus protocol and bus architecture are released though most of them are based on the shared bus architecture and inherit the limitation of performance. SNP (SoC Network Protocol), and hence, SNA (SoC Network Architecture) which are high performance on-chip-bus protocol and architecture, respectively, have been proposed to solve the problems of the conventional shared bus. We refine the SNA specification and improve the performance and functionality. The performance of the SNA is improved by supporting simultaneous routing for bus request of multiple masters. The internal routing logic is also improved so that the gate count is decreased. The proposed SNA employs XSNP (extended SNP) that supports almost perfect compatibility with AMBA AHB protocol without performance degradation. The hardware complexity of the improved SNA is not increased much by optimizing the current routing logic. The improved SNA works for IPs with the original SNP at its best performance. In addition, it can also replace the AMBA AHB or interconnect matrix of a system, and it guarantees simultaneous multiple channels. That is, the existing AMBA system can show much improved performance by replacing the AHB or the interconnect matrix with the SNA. Thanks to the small number of interconnection wires, the SNA can be used for the off-chip bus system, too. We verify the performance and function of the proposed SNA and XSNP simulation and emulation.

Energy and Delay-Efficient Multipath Routing Protocol for Supporting Mobile Sink in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 이동 싱크를 지원하기 위한 다중 경로 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • The research on multipath routing has been studied to solve the problem of frequent path breakages due to node and link failures and to enhance data delivery reliability in wireless sensor networks. In the multipath routing, mobile sinks such as soldiers in battle fields and rescuers in disaster areas bring about new challenge for handling their mobility. The sink mobility requests new multipath construction from sources to mobile sinks according to their movement path. Since mobile sinks have continuous mobility, the existing multipath can be exploited to efficiently reconstruct to new positions of mobile sinks. However, the previous protocols do not address this issue. Thus, we proposed an efficient multipath reconstruction protocol called LGMR for mobile sinks in wireless sensor networks. The LGMR address three multipath reconstruction methods based on movement types of mobile sinks: a single hop movement-based local multipath reconstruction, a multiple hop movement-based local multipath reconstruction, and a multiple hop movement-based global multipath reconstruction. Simulation results showed that the LGMR has better performance than the previous protocol in terms of energy consumption and data delivery delay.

Multi-Path Routing Algorithm for Cost-Effective Transactions in Automated Market Makers (자동화 마켓 메이커에서 비용 효율적인 거래를 위한 다중 경로 라우팅 알고리즘)

  • With the rise of a decentralized finance market (so called, DeFi) using blockchain technology, users and capital liquidity of decentralized finance applications are increasing significantly. The Automated Market Maker (AMM) is a protocol that automatically calculates the asset price based on the liquidity of the decentralized trading platform, and is currently most commonly used in the decentralized exchanges (DEX), since it can proceed the transactions by utilizing the liquidity pool of the trading platform even if the buyers and sellers do not exist at the same time. However, Automated Market Maker have some disadvantages since the cost efficiency of each transaction using Automated Market Maker depends on the liquidity size of some liquidity pools used for the transaction, so the smaller the size of the liquidity pool and the larger the transaction size, the smaller the cost efficiency of the trade. To solve this problem, some platforms are adopting Transaction Path Routing Algorithm that bypasses transaction path to other liquidity pools that have relatively large size to improve cost efficiency, but this algorithm can be further improved because it uses only a single transaction path to proceed each transaction. In addition to just bypassing transaction path, in this paper we proposed a Multi-Path Routing Algorithm that uses multiple transaction paths simultaneously by distributing transaction size, and showed that the cost efficiency of transactions can be further improved in the Automated Market Maker-based trading environment.
