As the advent of the digital age, documents are often scanned to be archived or to be transmitted over the network. The largest proportion of documents is texts and the next is seal images indicating the author of the documents. While a lot of research has been conducted to recognize texts in scanned documents and commercialized text recognizing products are developed as highlighted the importance of the scanned document, information about seal images is discarded. In this paper, we study how to extract the seal image area from the color or black and white document containing the seal image and how to save the seal image. We propose a preprocessing step to remove other components except for the candidate outlines of the seal imprint from scanned documents and a method to select the final region of interest from these candidates by using the feature of seal images. Also in case of a seal imprint overlapped with texts, the most similar image among those stored in the database is selected through the template matching process. We verify the implemented system for a various type of documents produced in schools and analyze the results.

전자책은 기존의 종이책을 디지털화한 것, 또는 디지털화되어 책의 형식과 유사하게 정보를 전달할 수 있는 컨텐츠를 말한다. 컴퓨터 기술의 발전 및 인터넷의 급속한 확산과 전자책이 갖는 장점이 복합적으로 결합되어, 이에 대한 관심이 전세계적으로 집중되고 있다. 하지만 전자책 뷰어의 제한된 기능과 독자적인 문서포맷의 사용, 허술한 보안의 문제점등으로 인해, 예상에 비해서는 활성화가 더딘 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기존 전자책의 단점을 보완하기 위해 본 연구팀이 개발한 전자책 시스템에 대해 설명하고자 한다. 개발된 시스템은 환경조절 기능, 책갈피 기능, 책장 넘기는 효과등을 가진 전자책 뷰어를 포함하고 있고, 전자책의 표준 규약인 XML을 기반으로 하여 문서포맷을 통일한다. 또한, 전자책 컨텐츠에 워터마크를 삽입하여 저작권을 보호하고, 안전한 통신 수단인 PKI를 기반으로 전자책을 배포한다.

Information producing and sharing methods are modified into digital forms. All kinds of documents are also converted into electronic forms so they become very useful and besides, they are increasing in quantity. Thus effective contents management system is requisite. Until now CMS(Contents Management System) has problems including composite contents management, processing delay and deterioration of contents because of deficiency of consistent contents storing methods and policies. In this paper an ECM(Efficient Contents Management) system is proposed for efficient processing of multimedia data and ubiquitous KM(Knowledge Management).

정보화 사회로의 발전을 통해 네트워크상에서 많은 정보들이 공유 및 교환되고 있다. 이들은 네트워크를 전제로 수행되므로, 다양한 형태의 공격의 대상이 되고 있다. 이를 공격에 대응하고 나아가 사용자 및 메시지 인중을 수행하기 위해 각광을 받고 있는 방법 중에 하나로서 디지털 서명을 들 수 있다. 디지털 서명은 크게 일반 서명 방식과 이를 특수한 상황에 이용하기 위한 특수 서명 방식으로 구분할 수 있다. 특수한 상황 중에서 문서에 대해 법적인 효력을 가질 수 있도록 관인을 찍어 각 수신자에게 발송하는 경우가 있으며, 이와 같이 동일 문서에 서명을 수행하여 수신자에게 전자적으로 전송해야 할 경우 전자서명을 수행해야 한다. 하지만 법적인 효율을 가질 수 있도록 하기 위해 한명의 공증인의 의한 서명은 공모의 취약성이 존재하게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 한명의 공증인에 의한 서명 수행이 아닌 여러 공증인에게 키를 생성 분배하여 이를 이용한 서명 수행으로 공모의 취약성을 효율적으로 개선할 수 있는 공증을 위한 서명 방식을 제안한다.

PDF(Portable Document Format)와 XML(eXtensible Markup Language). 전자문서의 표준으로 서로 다른 방법론을 갖고 출발한 양 진영의 대결은 여전히 계속되고 있다. 최근 한국어도비시스템즈는 더욱 강력하고 새로운 기능들로 무장한 '애크로뱃(Acrobat)6.0'을 발표하면서 전자문서 시장에 대한 공세를 강화하고 있다. 이에 질세라 XML 진영에서는 ebXML, 로제타넷 등 XML 기반 응용솔루션에 대한 개발 및 영업에 더욱 박차를 가함으로써 부가가치 높이기에 적극적이다.

“B2B 에서의 XML 보안”에 관해서 현재 많은 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 인터넷상에서 뛰어난 확장성을 가지고 있고, 풍부한 자료구조, 국제적 문자에 대한 탁월한 처리를 가진 XML을 많은 기업들이 B2B(Business to Business)에서 많이 사용하고 있다. 또한 EDI(Electronic data Interchange)에서도 XML을 사용한 문서 교환이 활발하게 이용되고 있다. 하지만 XML에서는 보안에 관한 많은 취약점을 가지고 있는 것이 사실이다. 본 논문은 XML의 보안상의 취약점, XML의 보안에 대한 기술, 그리고 인터넷에서 XML 디지털 인증에 관해 구현하였다.

현재 소프트웨어 품질에 대한 국제 표준이 새롭게 제정되어지고 있다. 소프트웨어 품질 측정을 위해서 사용하던 소프트웨어 품질 관련 국제 표준 문서인 ISO/IEC 9126을 소프트웨어 품질 측정 과정에 대한 표준 문서 ISO/IEC 14598과 함께 내용을 새롭게 정리하여 ISO/IEC 25000 시리즈 SQuaRE 프로젝트를 진행하고 있다. 소프트웨어 품질을 좀더 정량적으로 평가하기 위한 방안으로 새롭게 제정되어지고 있는 국제 표준에 대한 동향을 조사하고 국내 표준 동향 조사를 통해서 앞으로의 과제에 대하여 연구한다.

Automated text classification is considered as an important method to manage and process a huge amount of documents in digital forms that are widespread and continuously increasing. Recently, text classification has been addressed with machine learning technologies such as k-nearest neighbor, decision tree, support vector machine and neural networks. However, only few investigations in text classification are studied on real problems but on well-organized text corpus, and do not show their usefulness. This paper proposes and analyzes text classification methods for a real application, email document classification task. First, we propose a combining method of multiple neural networks that improves the performance through the combinations with maximum and neural networks. Second, we present another strategy of combining multiple machine learning classifiers. Voting, Borda count and neural networks improve the overall classification performance. Experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed methods for a real application domain, yielding more than 90% precision rates.

Digital documents such as patents, scholarly papers and research reports have author keywords which summarize the topics of documents. Different documents are likely to describe the same topic if they share the same keywords. Document clustering aims at clustering documents to similar topics with an unsupervised learning method. However, it is difficult to apply to a large amount of documents event though the document clustering is utilized to in various data analysis due to computational complexity. In this case, we can cluster and connect massive documents using keywords efficiently. Existing bottom-up hierarchical clustering requires huge computation and time complexity for clustering a large number of keywords. This paper proposes an inverted index based bottom-up clustering for keywords and analyzes the results of clustering with massive keywords extracted from scholarly papers and research reports.
