통신.방송 기술의 융합 시대를 맞아 국내 IT기술개발의 선도주자인 ETRI와 대표 통신사업자인 KT, 디지털방송의 선두주자인 SBS 등 각 기관 및 기업의 대표들이 참석한 IT강국 선도전략 토론회가 개최됐다. 제 49회 정보통신의 날 기념행사로 치뤄진 이번토론회는 주요기관 및 학계인사 70명이 참석한 가운데 지난달 22일 서울프라자호텔 22층 덕수홀에서 개최됐다. 토론회의 주요 내용을 정리했다.

삼성전자가 본격적인 디지털 녹화 시대 개막을 알리는 램(RAM)방식의 DVD레코더(모델명:DVD-R5000)를 국내에 출시한다. 삼성전자가 이번에 출시하는 램(RAM)방식의 레코더는 PC를 기반으로 하고 있기 때문에 녹화와 재생 등이 타 방식보다 빠르다는 것이 가장 큰 특징이다. 즉 디스크에 기록된 영상과 음성등을 가장 빨리 찾고, 재생할 수 있다는 점이다.

인간 사이의 상호작용이 증대됨에 따라 명함과 같은 인적 정보의 교환도 더욱더 많아지고 있으며 이에 따른 효율적 사용과 관리에 어려움이 커지고 있다. 그러므로 인적정보를 디지털화하여 실세계와 사이버세계를 연결하여 관리할 수 있다면 보다 다양하고 편리한 서비스를 이용할 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 컬러 코드를 이용한 온.오프라인 통합 개인정보 관리 시스템인 CPIMS(Colorcode personal Information Management System)를 개발하였다. 사용자는 컬러 코드가 인쇄된 명함을 받았을 때 명함 중인의 개인 정보를 주소록에 자동으로 입력 받을 수 있게 된다. 그리고 명함주인의 정지화상 및 동영상이나 음성메시지 등과 같은 부가 정보도 제공받을 수 있는 특징을 가진다. 이러한 원리는 명함에 부착된 컬러 코드를 PC 카메라를 사용하여 인식하게 하고 상응하는 정보를 데이터베이스에서 불러오는 것이다. PC 카메라의 보급과 PDA, IMA-2000 등의 카메라가 장착되는 이동컴퓨팅 장비의 사용이 확대되고 있으므로 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 온.오프라인을 통합하는 효과적인 미디어 시스템이 될 것으로 기대된다.

This study aims to investigate the effects of problem-solving competency of students when they study with digital textbook contents and digital inking in collaborative learning. The experimental group solved the math problems using basic digital textbook contents and digital inking while the control group solved the math problems using basic digital textbook contents alone. The result of analysis and comparison is as follows, the experimental group with basic digital textbook contents and digital inking showed more improved problem-solving competency than that of the control group with basic digital textbook contents alone, the experimental group showed recorded a higher satisfactory level than that of the control group.

In this study, we tried to provide basic materials necessary for introduction of smart libraries by analyzing present conditions of its operation based on the actual conditions of digital materials. For this study, a survey of actual use of digital materials is conducted for digital material rooms of public libraries in nationwide and 213 persons in charge of digital materials. As a result of this study, the followings are found: first, 80.8% of those public libraries responding to the survey operate digital material rooms and average 1.75 person is in charge of managing digital materials and open type Wi-Fis are installed in those public libraties but only 11.3% of those libraries provide 5G services; second, it is found that the digital data which are owned by those public libraries most are video contents (63.8%), e-books (53.5%) and audio books (53.5%) in order. In addition average number of types of audio books 781, video contents 4,985, nonbook contents except for video 3,616 and other digital data 626. This study is a basic research for introduction of smart library and it is necessary to conduct another study of a plan for future revitalization of digital materials and librarians' awareness on introduction of smart library.

In this paper, we implement a digital content that visualizes the ten kings of Hell kings appearing in Buddhist myths according to their keyword. The ten kings of Hell are called ShiWang, and can be found in ordinary temples as tangible cultural Heritage such as paintings of the Buddha. ShiWang is a great king who controls the underworld and has been passed on in various forms in shamanism and Buddhist culture. We analyze the ShiWang, who appears in ancient literature, analyzes its features by hell and categorizes keywords. When the public chooses keywords of interest from implemented digital content, digital content represents the ShiWang and Hell image and descriptions associated with the selected keywords. Applications of the digital content are as follows; development of games and cultural characters, digital storytelling using traditional culture, teaching Buddhist culture and doctrines, games, etc.

This study presents the direction of services and policies for digital file management in universities by identifying undergraduate students' digital file management behavior. The research defined the Life Cycle of Digital Objects. In addition, This research collected data from 154 undergraduate students using an online survey on their file Creation, Storing, Naming, Organizing, and Backup based on the Digital File Management Workflow. Also, an in-depth interview was conducted for 8 students, two for each major in engineering, arts, social science, and humanities. The result showed that students mostly used personal computers as storage media and USB drive as backup media and had their own file Naming and Organizing methods. Furthermore, students' satisfaction with digital file management was high when universities supported software and cloud storage. Therefore, this study suggests that universities need to provide services reflecting the students' digital file management behavior.

사람들에게 디지털 안내표지판과 애플리케이션을 이용해 에너지 절약을 유도한다. 디지털 안내표지판은 관리자, 사용자, 경영자 모드로 나누어 보다 효율적으로 에너지를 절약한다. 라즈베리파이를 이용하여 전력 시간대, 적용 요금 등을 안내표지판에 나타내고 애플리케이션을 제작하여 사용자에게 알림을 주어 에너지 절약을 유도한다.

한국데이터베이스진흥센터(KDPC){에서는 유럽의 디지털도서관 구축 현황을 조사하고, 매년 12월 영국 런던에서 개최되는 "Online Information '97" 전시회에 참가하여 선진국들의 정보산업 기술 동향과 선진 데이터베이스 구축 현황을 조사하기 위해 '유럽 디지털 도서관 및 Online Information '97 전시회 참관단'을 파견하였다. 참관단에는 14개 업체에서 데이터베이스 관련 업무에 종사하고 있는 20명의 관련 전문가가 참여하여 1997년 12월 6일부터 12월 14일까지 영국의 De Monfort University 도서관, University of Westminster 도서관, Die Deusche Bibliotek(독일 국립도서관), Bibliotheque Nationale De France(프랑스 국립도서관)을 방문했다.

성공한 디지털콘텐츠업계 기술 및 기업의 오늘이 있기까지에는 그 뒤에서 묵묵히 자신의 역할에 최선을 다한 수많은 사람들이 있었기에 가능하다. 기업의 성공적인 성장이나 누군가의 화려한 성공의 이면에는 언제나 전략의 실질적인 실행자 역할을 담당한 숨은 공로자가 있기 마련. 이들은 성공을 축적해 나가면서 힘과 지위도 동시에 얻게 되지만 일반적으로 대중에게 알려지는것은 기업의 대표자나 특정한 몇 명일 뿐 대부분은 베일에 가려지게 된다. 보이지 않는 주역으로 살아온 그들의 내밀한 사연을 되짚어보면서 디지털콘텐츠 관련자들의 성공 스토리를 살펴봤다.
