  • 조속기는 수차발전기의 핵심을 담당하는 두뇌라고 말할 수 있으며, 전력계통의 부하(주파수)가 변할 경우 수차발전기의 회전속도를 정격으로 유지시켜 양질의 전기를 생산하도록 항시 조정되는 역할을 한다. 최근 조속기는 디지털화되어 최적제어 감시 및 보호기능을 수행하고 있으나 문제점도 하나둘씩 나타나고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 가버너의 Isolation Mode에 대한 설명과 사고사례를 통해 디지털가버너 운영 시 문제점을 분석, 검토하여 보완하고자 하였으며, 이를 통해 안정적으로 전력공급을 주요 목적으로 하였다.

A Study on the Power Station Application and Performance Evaluation of 10㎿ grade Intelligent Digital Governor (10㎿급 인텔리전트 디지털 가버너의 현장적용 및 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • This paper present a methods for performance evaluation of digital governor and we treat the way to reduce the trial and error when the developed digital governing system is applied to station. The parameters of the model are estimated using input-output data, the model adjustment technique and a genetic algorithm(GA). To verify validity of the completed model, the comparision model and real output signals have been carried out. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation, it has replaced mechanical governing system. Test was performed in order to demonstrate the performance evaluation of the digital governor parameters.

A Study on the Development of a Variable Speed Diesel Generator for DC Distribution (직류배전용 가변속 디젤발전기 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, research and a demonstration for applying DC distribution systems to ships as an environmental and energy conservation solution in domestic and foreign countries were actively carried out. In order to apply a generator to a DC distribution system, a variable speed engine was used. Both engine speed and fuel consumption were reduced. In this paper, a DC generator for DC distribution was constructed using a diesel generator, a generator controller, a governor, and an AVR. A system configuration method for a generator, power quality test, and the power characteristics of a variable speed generator were analyzed. The voltage (250 - 440 VAC) and frequency (34 - 60 Hz) of the variable speed generator were set to 60 - 100 % of the rated value, and the engine was set to operate from 1100 - 1800 rpm. It was confirmed that the voltage, current, and frequency of the generator output fluctuated in a stable manner according to the power amount when changing the engine speed of the generator according to the load variation.

  • This thesis presents a development of intelligent digital governing system and it's application on Sumjingang Hydro-Power plant. The developed system consists of hardware, software and governing algorithm. The feature of hardware is triplex-modular fail safe redundant system for a safe turbine running. The software consists of operating system and application program. The operating system has real-time and multi-tasking features. And also, application algorithm is composed to run francis type hydro-turbine. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation.

  • Since sea state changes engine load instantaneously, the speed governing apparatus is essential for marine engine to maintain constant speed regardless of the load. As governing apparatuses, mechanical, pneumatic, and electric governors have been employed. But, recently, according to the introduction of low speed-ling stroke engines to increase thermal efficiency, the development of governor which has better response characteristics is requisite. In this paper, to design the governor that meets above requirement, author made a performance test for the existing PID control digital governor with the aid of computer simulation, and investigated digital governor applying the optimal control algorithm, then, executed computer simulation by the same way. As the result of simulations, found that the former let engine have large overshoot and long settling time at low speed, on the other hand, the latter made engine have better response. If we design and invent a good observer for delay time element so that the optimal control theory can be applied, better governor will be expected.
