  • 멀티미디어 디자인 분야는 21세기 국가경제력을 주도해 나갈 미래 산업분야로 최근 컴퓨터 기술의 발달과 함께 사회전반에 걸쳐 그 중요성을 인정받기 시작했다. 그러나 현실적으로 엄밀한 의미에서 멀티미디어 디자인이란 아직 학문적 정의조차 명확히 내려지지 않고 있으며, 또한 연구내용과 방법 등이 체계화되지 않은 초기 상태에 머물고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 시각디자인, 컴퓨터 과학, 인간공학을 기본 축으로 하는 새로운 멀티미디어 디자인 교육과정을 제시하고 그 성과물을 예로써 전시해 보고자 한다.

  • The meaning of the diamond crystal structure and the formative beauty of the crystal form were designed from a new perspective and expressed in jewelry. In this study, we examined the literature on the crystal structure of diamonds and analyzed cases of jewelry design based on the formative characteristics of diamond crystal structure. we newly interpreted the meaning and value of diamond crystal structure, and studied the figurative design that can show the aesthetic effect of the crystal structure by designing the diamond crystal structure as jewelry. By presenting jewelry designs that take advantage of the symmetry effect of the diamond crystal structure and the repetition of the sculptural beauty, we hope that the fundamental beauty and cultural meaning of gemstones will be re-recognized.

  • 해양에 관련된 분야의 해운, 조선, 물류, 수산, 에너지, 레저, 건축 등 매우 광범위하다. 그에 따라 작게는 각종 장비에서부터 크게는 선박이나 건물, 나아가 거대한 항만에 이르기까지 오브제, 시설, 공간에 이르는 다양한 결과물들이 있다. 이러한 결과물들은 공공의 요구와 기능에 대한 기술적 개발의 선물로 간주되었지만, 앞으로 미적 감성에 대한 예술적 조화를 이루어야만 한다. 이 연구의 목적은 해양에 관련된 수많은 결과물 가운데 공공 디자인의 의미와 개발의 방향을 가늠해 보는 것이다.

Development of Textile Design for Fashion Cultural Products - Focusing on Traditional Korean Patterns - (패션문화상품을 위한 텍스타일 디자인 개발 - 한국전통문양을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the symbolism of traditional Korean patterns which reflect an emotional cultural background of Korean people, to apply modernized and developed patterns to Textile Design for fashion cultural products, and to explore productive direction of developing designs of fashion cultural products. The process of developing Textile Design of fashion cultural products which applied symbolism of traditional Korean patterns was conducted as follows. Firstly, based on '05 S/S-'07 S/S fashion trends, a design concept wat decided(man-urban ethnic style, woman-romantic ethnic style). Secondly, motive was abstracted from selected traditional patterns to develop into modem patterns. Thirdly, items were selected according to symbolic meaning of traditional Korean patterns. Man's items included shirts, necktie, and handkerchief which were highly preferred by Korean and foreign visitors. Finally, developed textile designs were diagrammed by item using textile CAD and an illustrator 10 and presented as images. The following results were obtained. First, textile designs for fashion cultural products, in which apply traditional patterns may reflect the understanding of traditional aesthetic beauty and philosophical approach by applying symbolic significance inherent in patterns as well as the aesthetics of the patterns. Second, traditional patterns have been recognized as old fashioned to consumers because they have been often used for traditional handicrafts or folk products. If their unique shapes are changed or simplified, emphasizing images, and trend styles and colors are used, they will be recreated as a modem design. Third, textile designs using traditional patterns may provide various images and visual effects according to techniques and production methods. Then, the method will be applied to many items. Finally, since traditional patterns in fashion cultural products can be used as our unique design elements, they can be utilized as the source of design inspiration for the development of value-added products.

  • Considering product as mass of information, it is very critical for designers to have good means of accessing to and organizing information on products. However, designers conventionally depend on their experience, bunch of catalogues, or short visit to some fairs for gathering information on products. There are no systematically organized information for designing new products. If any, those are ones developed by market researchers or engineers who speak fundamentally different language from designers. It is needed to develop the information system through which designer can get insights on the essence of product and communicate information with various persons involved in new product planning. At first, the design information in product planning is discussed and the necessity of development of new design information system is emphasized. Then, product is understood as a composite of various attributes and a set of fundamental attributes of product is defined by surveying and summarizing existing theories of product attributes: namely technological, human, and market attributes. The possibility of new design information system is explored by analyzing various relationships between attributes of different products. Computer program 'DISPP' displays various visual information of product itself, perceptual map, trend slope, profile chart and general information of manufacturer, style, color, price, size. Finally, findings of thesis are concluded and further prospects of the study are proposed.

  • Creativity has very important significance to children. Although active researches and educations on other studies (for instance, mathematics, science, logics, music, etc) are being done, evaluation or development on children's creativity in design is very inadequate. Therefore, this study is a basic research to develop evaluation to judge design creativity of children as an incipient stage of educational method development to develop children's creativity in design. Evaluation categories (originality - novelty/fun, practicality-function/possibility) that can evaluate design creativity of children were drawn out based on documentary records, and as the results or performing experimental research to figure out correlativity between creativity of idea and design creativity targeting children in second grade of elementary school, subordinate provinces of idea's creativity related to design creativity were fluency and elaboration. However, it does not mean that fluency and delicacy are the only subordinate provinces of idea's creativity related to design creativity, but they are more influential compared to other provinces (creativity, abstractness of title, and resistance to premature closure) This study is to prepare basic framework of educational method to improve design creativity education of children, and has its meaning to complement what are lacked in design creativity through the educational method.

  • 시각적 의미의 개발에 바탕을 둔 색채 디자인 연구는 인간의 감성을 중시하는 새로운 패러다임을 맞이하여, 보다 확장적이고 다양한 연구로 발전되고 있다. 특히 화장품 브랜드의 개발과정에서 색채연구의 기능과 역할은 보다 새로운 차원으로 확대, 발전될 수 있는 가능성이 많다. 본 연구의 목적은 허브 식물이 가진 치료 효과와 심신을 편안하게 해주는 감성적 요인을 이용하여, 다차원적 감성을 활용한 색채 연구 방법론을 개발하고 이를 통한 자연성 화장품 브랜드의 이미지 전략을 수립하는데 있다. 허브 식물과 사용자 간의 감성적 교류에 대한 다차원적 특성은 '프리메라'라는 자연성 화장품 브랜드를 위한 감성적 이미지 개발 전략의 사례연구를 통하여 연구되었다. 본 사례 연구에서는 여성의 피부 특성에 따른 세 종류의 시각적/촉각적 색채 이미지 접근 방법을 분석하고, 이를 통한 활용 색체 팔레트를 개발함으로써 프리메라가 갖고 있는 브랜드의 이미지를 확고히 전달할 수 있는 감성 언어 체계를 개발하였다.

  • 최근 동양사상은 사회, 문화 전반에 걸쳐 활용되고 있으며 디자인 분야에 적용하려는 연구 역시 지속적으로 이어져오고 있다. 이러한 맥락으로 볼 때 동양사상과 인터페이스의 관계에서도 음양오행, 팔괘, 하도낙서 등의 기본원리에 의한 적용이 가능하다고 유추할 수 있으며, 우주 만물의 조화와 균형을 추구하고 있는 동양사상을 사용자 인터페이스에 적용한다면 사용하기 쉬움과 어려움의 균형이 적절하게 조화를 이루어 인간이 보다 자연스럽게 사용할 수 있는 UI가 개발될 가능성을 가지고 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 구궁. 팔괘의 의미에 따른 모바일폰 메뉴 구조를 통하여 단순히 사용빈도가 높거나 유사한 항목간의 관계, 기업의 마케팅을 위한 관계 설정이 아닌 각 기능이 가지고 있는 본질적 의미를 팔괘로 해석하고, 구궁에 적용함으로써 질서와 조화를 갖춘 메뉴 관계를 형성하고, 이를 통해 인간이 보다 자연스럽게 사용 할 수 있는 UI를 제언하고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 연구방법으로 음양오행, 주역의 팔괘 등을 체계적으로 수용하고 있으며, 구궁이라는 9개의 공간에 의미와 시간의 요소를 조합하여 해단함으로써, 인간사 전반에 걸친 해석이 가능한 '기문둔갑'이라는 동양학문을 제시하고, 이를 토대로 사용자 인터페이스와의 관계를 밝히고 적용가능성을 설명하였다. 사례연구로 $3{\times}3$ 메뉴구조의 모바일폰 디스플레이 인터페이스에 기문둔갑의 기초인 구궁, 팔괘를 적용하는 방법을 설명하고 디자인전공자 30명의 설문으로 얻은 사용자 멘탈모델과 비교 분석하여 디자인에서의 동양사상 활용 가능성을 설명하였다.

A Study on the Collaboration of User Interface Design for Software Developments (소프트웨어개발을 위한 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 협동작업에 관한 연구)

  • The deVelopment of technologies changes the thinking of people and the ways of IMngs. The software developers as well as users are now aware of the importance of graphic user interface design, and the usage of graphic elements is getting rrore and more easier due to the technological improvements based on the windows system(Microsoft). For these reasons, people who engaged in software developments do much more efforts to get user-oentered design solutions, in other words, the usability improvements. And the interdisciplinary projects teams which consist of experts of various fields are increasing in number. But, the lack of understanding on software developments and the proceeding of design work without the consideration of entire process of a project make interface design work difficult. For exampIe, some engineers often think designers as persons who decorate their products in the final stage. In this thesis, through the investigation of user interface design and software development process, the frarnework of effective team projects is proposed. The main purposes of this thesis are to define the work area and position of designers and to propose the interface design process for the cooperative software development projects within the interdiociplinary teams.

A Study on the Development of Bamboo Decorating Tiles (죽세장식타일 개발 연구)

  • A new functional meaning has been given as natural resource to bamboo through reanalysis. Bamboo products contributed to creating added-value of pro-environment. In this study, a potential efficiency and vision of bamboo products and crafts are presented. As bamboo plywood and bamboo decorating paper were developed followed by academic and technological support, an activation of markets has been pursued and bamboo pattern tiles for new furniture was developed. This study examined kinds and characteristics of bamboo and processing of raw material and how to express with the material. Through advanced technology, it identified traditional functions and technological mistakes and analysed domestic and overseas applications to enhance utility of plywood made of bamboo. Bamboo pattern tiles were developed for decorating of furniture doors based on bamboo pattern paper. For patterns, 'tortoise, cranes, and deer'meaning eternity and new millenium among Ten Korean Longevity Animals are simply and lively represented. Series of the sun and mountain use effects of bamboo pieces to present bright images and to maximize quality of bamboo. A pattern of '卍'incorporates mystery of the cosmos and meaning of temples together with traditional patched wrapping cloth, Arirang and Chilgyopannori for beautiful ornamentation. Bamboo decorating tiles are made through accumulation of technologies by a cooperation with industries of bamboo equipment and production of furniture in Damyang Bamboo Products Complex. Processing of raw materials is peformed with equipment of Damyang. Development of samples and production and delivery of bamboo goods are handled in Design Venture of Chosun University Chamber. Developed goods decorating doors of furniture are in sale by an order from furniture industries.
