  • 지식경제부와 한국디자인진흥원은 대한민국 디자인 산업을 이끌어갈 우수한 신예 디자이너 발굴의 장이자, 국내 산업 디자인의 미래를 조망하는 "대한민국디자인전람회" 수상작을 발표했다. 대한민국 디자인계를 이끄는 학계 산업계의 초대 추천 디자이너 542명을 배출한 이 전람회는 1995년부터 집계된 출품 수만 2만5천여 점에 달하는 국내 최대 최고 규모의 공모전이다. 이번 전람회에서는 롯데칠성 디자인팀의 김지혜 씨가 바쁜 현대인들에게 안전하고 건강한 생활 식습관을 제안한 "요리하는 즐거움, 건강한 라이프스타일을 위한 패키지디자인연구"로 국무총리상을 수상하게 됐다. 김지혜 디자이너에게 작품 소개 및 패키지디자인에 대한 견해를 들어보았다.

  • The design consultancy, with the development of economic integration, globalization of industrial design, technology revolution in the world and social economy, has come into being and grown gradually, which has injected new energy for the innovation of products and the expansion of new markets. Meanwhile, designers' function and their means to create value have started to diversify, instead of the single one, designing products only. As far as the thesis is concerned, it introduces relevant literature first so that basic concept, classification and etc. of the present design consultation are given. Second, with the help of certain research in advance, it shows the growth and the trend of design consultancy in UK, Japan and South Korea, as well as designers' progress and the diversion of their function with economy development. Finally, the conclusion is given on the basis of the ambiguity of designers' function in industrial design consultation in present corporations. Besides, it points out what roles are likely to be played by designers, as the planner of the whole project, the maker of the strategy, the provider of the whole program, the guide of clients and the supplier of related database, while providing industrial design consultation.

  • Many researchers have been explored job satisfaction in various context. Nevertheless, there are no empirical researches on the advertising designers's job satisfaction in Korea. This research is an exploratory examination regarding Korean advertising designers's organizational behaviour. In general, job satisfaction is determined by two major factors; personal and organizational factor. This research shows that korean advertising designers's job satisfaction is mainly determined by the organizational factor such as payment and promotion. Promotion was particularly significant amongst them and recognition also proved to be influential. Synthetically, the determining factors of advertising designers's job satisfaction consists of several predictors such as payment, promotion, and human relationships. This result may gives an assumption that the agencies have not provided designers with specialized evaluation system reflecting designers' job characteristics. Thesis concludes that agencies need to set a new evaluation and payment systems in order to elevate designers' job satisfaction in organization.

  • As the importance of national technical qualifications for hairdressers to verify qualifications and skills as a professional is increasing, it is time to improve achievement motivation and job attitudes through research on job attitudes perceived by hair designers toward hair practical tasks. As a result of studying the effect on the job attitude of a hairstylist working in a hair salon, it was found that blow-drying induced the hairstylist's job efficacy among the practical tasks for the hairdresser's hair national technology certification, and scalp scaling and shampoo were the job of the hairstylist. was found to induce satisfaction. Based on the research results, it is possible to present a variety of practical certification tasks with practicality that can be usefully applied to customers in various techniques in the beauty industry, rather than unrealistic practical techniques limited only to wigs. We want to induce improvement. In addition, I believe that this study will provide basic data for the development of various practical tasks to improve the achievement motivation of hair designers.

Research on Influencing Factors on Conflicts between Client and Designer in CI Development and Conflict Resolution Strategies (CI개발에 있어 의뢰인과 디자이너간 갈등의 영향요인과 해소방안연구)

  • The objectives of this research are to examine the relationships among designers' characteristics, mutual communication, conflicts between CI designer and client, to test the impacts of conflicts and four type of resolution strategies on the performance of CI development, and to recommend proper strategies for successful CI process and output management. The survey results show as follows. First, CI designers' confidentiality on clients' internal information and creative designing ability were found to affect mutual communication between them. Second, proper communication was found to lessen the conflict level which in turn yielded the positive performance of CI development, especially for the clients' side. Third, it is suggested that the conflict level be first reduced and conflict resolution strategies be applied depending upon the conflict level and related party of designer or client position, respectively.

  • Recently, there is a tendency of consumer's participation gradually increasing in the design shaping process. Consumers make evaluation or suggestion about the shape of the product, and the industries lay out schemes to elicit consumers' participation. However, when it comes to dealing with the shape of the product, consumer and designer has a fundamental difference in their point of view, and it works as interruption to the efficient communication between the consumer and designer. Therefore, this study will examine the difference of consumer's and designer's view of products' shape, and the guidelines of effective molding which elicit the consumers' affective responses. First, I established the sensible image vocabulary based on the shape of the product. And based on the vocabulary, I carried out the same experiments to the consumers and designers. As a result, the affective responses of the two groups toward the shape have similar characteristics and designers' reactions found out to be more dramatic than consumers.

  • Diverse disciplines such as information science, computer science, cognitive science, and industrial design, are activity engaged in the website evaluation research efforts. Information scientists emphasize the importance of user-centered and user-friendly website design, which is also easy to use, This idea is based on the understanding that the users and the designers are different set of people. In addition, information scientists consider the practice of maximally incorporating user inputs during the website design to be very important guideline. However, this study is based on a newly emerging population of website users who are also designers. 218 study participants evaluated the websites that they designed in comparison to the websites designed by others. According to the survey data analysis, the study participants considered the content delivery, design simplicity, design consistency, and link access of the websites to be equally important from both users' and designers' perspectives. However, the content organization, rich content, and screen composition were underestimated from the designers' point of view whereas these factors were considered to be important from users' point of view.
