A Study on Flying Height of Head Slider in Rotary Type Actuator (회전 구동용 헤드 슬라이더의 부상높이에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents a method to predict the flying height of the head slider in a hard disk drive. Quantitative predicts of the flying height according to the variations of the external load and the disk velocity have been done by numerical computation. In addition, the magnitude of the external load to keep flying height constant were also suggested. The Modified Reynolds' equation driven from hydrodynamic lubrication theory under slip flow condition was used to describe air-bearing system under the slider. To solve the equation, a Finite Volume Method (FVM) has been applied. To determine the final minimum flying height and pitch angle of the head slider, the Secant iteration method is used which update initial guess of the minimum flying height and pitch angle of the slider. In this study, the model head slider has been selected from a real hard disk drive which is equipped in many commercial personal computers. As a result, as the disk velocity increases at constant external load, the minimum flying height and the pitch angle increase due to the in crease of the air-bearing force at the bottom of slider.

  • Force control and collision detection for a robot are usually conducted using a 6-axis force/torque sensor mounted at the end-effector. However, this scheme suffers from high-cost and the inability to detect collisions at the robot body. As an alternative, joint torque sensors embedded in each joint were used, which also suffered from various errors in torque measurement. To resolve this problem, a robot joint module with an improved joint torque sensor is proposed in this study. In the proposed torque sensor, a cross-roller bearing and disk-type coupling are added to prevent the moment load from adversely affecting the measurement of the joint torque under consideration. This joint design also aims to reduce the stress induced during the assembly process of the sensor. The performance of the proposed joint torque sensor was verified through various experiments.

  • A modeling method for the modal analysis of a pre-twisted multi-packet blade system undergoing rotational motion is presented in this paper. Blades are idealized as pre-twisted cantilever beams that are fixed to a rotating disc. The stiffness coupling effects between blades due to the flexibilities of the disc and the shroud are modeled with discrete springs. The coupling effect between chordwise and flapwise bending deflection is also considered. Hybrid deformation variables are employed to derive the equations of motion. To obtain more general information, the equations of motion are transformed into dimensionless forms in which dimensionless parameters are identified. The effects of the dimensionless parameters and the number of packets as well as blades on the modal characteristics of the rotating multi-packet pre-twisted blade system are investigated with some numerical examples.

  • Solid State Device(SSD)는 플래시 메모리 모듈을 기반으로한 차세대 저장장치로서 디스크 회전방식의 Hard Disk Drive(HDD)를 대체하는 장치로 주목받고 있다. 하지만, 현재의 운영체제 I/O 스케줄러는 HDD 에 최적화되어 있기 때문에 플래시 모듈 기반의 SSD 의 성능을 최대한 끌어내지 못하는 한계를 갖고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서 우리는 SSD 의 성능을 끌어올리기 위해 SSD 의 특징을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 SSD 에 최적화된 I/O 스케줄러를 고안하였다. 새로운 스케줄러(NSCHED)는 I/O Request 를 두 그룹으로 분류하고 각 요청에 타이머를 설정함으로써 I/O Request 를 빠르게 처리함과 동시에 기아방지를 위한 기법을 가진다. 우리는 Linux 2.6.30 에서 NSCHED 스케줄러를 구현하여 Postmark 벤치마크를 통해 성능평가를 수행했으며, NSCHED 스케줄러가 기본 Linux I/O 스케줄러보다 30% 가량 낮은 응답 시간이 소요됨을 확인했다.

A study on the damage of cutter bit due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head in mixed ground (복합지반에서의 쉴드 TBM 커터헤드의 회전속도에 따른 커터비트 손상에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents the cutter bit damage due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head in the mixed ground. The efficient of cutter bits and disk cutter are very important for tunnelling in mixed ground. In particular, this research is focused on the performance of cutter bits during excavation in mixed ground which is consist of the weathered soil and rock formation. In order to carry out this research, the experimental works are prepared performed by using the scaled shield TBM cutter bits evaluation machine developed. The mixed ground is prepared considering with a scale effect of tunnel size. Three different rotation speeds of shield TBM cutter head (i.e. 2, 3, 4 rpm) are applied in the experimental work. The drag forces acting on the cutter bits are measured at each cutter bit during rotation of cutter head. It is also analysed the variation of drag forces due to the rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head. The results of this research are clearly shown that the drag forces acting on the cutter bits are jumped up at the boundary between weathered soil and rock. It is also indicated that the jamping drag forces are increased with increasing the rotation speed of the cutter head. It is found from the research that the higher rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head will be high risk in the mixed ground. It is, therefore, suggested that the use of lower rotation speed of shield TBM cutter head is recommended for reducing the cutter bit damage in practice.

SLUMPING RESISTANCE AND VISCOELASTICITY OF RESIN COMPOSITE PASTES (치과용 복합레진의 중합 전 slumping resistance와 점탄성)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a method for measuring the slumping resistance of resin composites and to relate it to the rheological characteristics. Five commercial hybrid composites (Z100. Z250. DenFil, Tetric Ceram. ClearFil) and a nanofill composite (Z350) were used to make disc-shaped specimens of 2 mm thickness. An aluminum mold with square shaped cutting surface was pressed onto the composite discs to make standardized imprints. The imprints were light-cured either immediately (non-slumped) or after waiting for 3 minutes at $25^{\circ}C$ (slumped). White stone replicas were made and then scanned for topography using a laser 3-D profilometer. Slumping resistance index (SRI) was defined as the ratio of the groove depth of the slumped specimen to that of the non-slumped specimen. The pre-cure viscoelasticity of each composite was evaluated by an oscillatory shear test and normal stress was measured by a squeeze test using a rheometer. Flow test was also performed using a flow tester. Correlation analysis was performed to investigate the relationship between the viscoelastic properties and the SRI. SRI varied between the six materials (Z100 < DenFil < Z250 < ClearFil < Tetric Ceram < Z350). The SRI was strongly correlated with the viscous (loss) shear modulus G' but not with the loss tangent. Also. slumping resistance was more closely related to the resistance to shear flow than to the normal stress. Slumping tendency could be quantified using the imprint method and SRI. The index may be applicable to evaluate the clinical handling characteristics of composites.

  • The spine is one of the most important skeletal joints, and it strongly affects the health of the musculoskeletal system. A normal spine has an S-shape, and it is very important to maintain this shape. Recently, spinal diseases such as low back pain have increased rapidly, especially among the elderly. Some of these diseases are caused by congenital spinal disorders and sporting and accident injuries as well as by bad postures. Improper spinal postures could generate excessive disc pressure, which is related to degeneration and pain. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the three-dimensional kinematic parameters of the thoraco-lumbar joint in several bad postures using a motion capture analysis technique. Different bad postures created a significant amount of flexion/extension, side bending, and axial rotation angle compared with neutral postures. Further study is necessary to investigate the disc pressure and ligament force due to the increase in joint rotation from the bad postures.

  • 외계행성 탐색시스템의 망원경-카메라 제어 시스템 및 소프트웨어 구성과 관측 유틸리티에 대해 소개한다. 망원경 제어 소프트웨어는 천문 위치보정, 포인팅, 돔 회전 등을 담당하는 PC-TCS 프로그램, 망원경 적경-적위 축 서보 제어를 담당하는 full-closed loop PID 컨트롤 프로그램, 포커서, 필터박스, 돔 셔터, 주경냉각, 온도 모니터 등의 보조 시스템을 제어하는 AUX controls 프로그램으로 구성된다. 카메라 제어 소프트웨어는 모자이크로 구성된 여러 CCD를 각각 독립적으로 제어하는 IC(Instrument Control) 패키지와 이들을 총괄 제어하는 ICS(IC Science) 패키지로 구성되며 망원경과 카메라 소프트웨어의 인터페이스 역할을 하는 TCS Agent 프로그램이 포함된다. 관측 진행을 돕는 유틸리티로서 관측제어 명령어 입력 및 관측 스크립트 구동 기능을 제공하는 OBS Agent 프로그램과 가이드 CCD를 이용한 시상 모니터링 및 자동초점조정 프로그램을 개발하여 활용하고 있다. 각 소프트웨어는 UDP, TCP/IP, RS-232, Redis server 등 다양한 인터페이스를 통하여 서로 통신하며, CCD 영상 자료 전달을 위해 RAM(Random Access Memory) 디스크와 Network File System(NSF)을 이용하고 있다.

Modal Analysis of Automotive Body Model using Mode Synthesis Method (모드합성법을 사용한 차체모델의 모달해석)

  • 최근 승용차의 급격한 수요증가와 더불어 차량의 승차감 개선에 많은 관심이 집중되면서, 저진동 저소음 차량에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 연구의 일부로서, 수치해석법 및 진동실험에 의하여 복잡한 전체 구조물을 해석할 경우, 계산기의 기억용량, 계산시간, 비용이 많이 들게 되고, 한번 해석을 행한 구조물을 부분적으로 변경할지라도 전체의 계산을 다시 수행해야만 한다. 그래서, 복잡한 전체 구조물을 몇 개의 부분구조물로 나누어, 분계의 특성에 맞게 각기 수치해석법이나 모달실험을 적용한 후, 다시 합성하는 방법이 제시되었는데, 이것이 부분구조합성법이다. 이 방법을 사용하면, 유한요소 모델링이 쉬운 분계와 실험이 쉬운 분계를 서로 구분하여 각기 해석한 후 합성함으로써, 각 분계의 특성에 맞는 효율적인 해석을 수행할 수가 있다. 지금까지의 연구를 살펴보면, 유한요소해석에 의한 모드합성법에서는 Hurty가 구속모드법을 제안한 이래, 불구속모드법, 주종계법 등 많은 연구가 있었으나, 실험모달해석을 병행할 경우에는 결합부에서의 회전자유도의 처리문제, 특성 행렬의 동정문제, 많은 절점으로부터 데이타를 얻어야 하는 등의 어려움이 있었다. 이러한 문제를 개선시켜서 Hermanski등은 회전자유도가 보간된 모드합성법(interpolated mode synthesis, IMS)을 연구하여, 적은 실험데이타만을 사용하면서 단순지지 보에 적용함으로써 타당성을 입증하였다. 한편, 차체는 복잡한 부분구조물들로 이루어져 있으므로, 본 연구에서는 유한요소모델링의 용이함, 실험의 간편성, 계산의 효율성등을 추구하며, 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행한 부분구조합성법을 차량의 BIW(body in white)에 적용하는 방법을 연구하게 되었다. 그 기본연구로서 실험과 유한요소해석을 병행하여 회전자유도를 보간하는 방법을 먼저 단순한 판구조물에 적용을 하고, 나아가 실제 BIW를 축소하여 자체 제작한 모형차에 적용시켜 보았다.물은 분계 A(16개의 사각요소)와 분계 B(8개의 사각요소)로 이루어져 있으며 두개의 스프링으로 결합되어 있다. 설계변수는 강성에 국한하였으며 결합부의 결합형태는 탄성결합과 강결합으로 하였다. 감도해석과 축소임피던스 합성법에 의해 구해진 고유진동수와 FRF를 상용 유한 요소 해석 패키지인 MSC/NASTRAN을 통하여 검증하여 이 연구의 타당성을 검토하였다.인풋기어에서의 회전수 변동을 측정하고, 이 실험 데이타를 기초로 하여 엔진 토크 및 변속기에서의 드래그 토크를 계산하여 엔진-변속기 인풋기어의 반한정계 2자유도 진동모델과 비틀림 특성을 가진 클러치 디스크의 프리댐퍼 영역에 대해 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 클러치 비틀림 기구의 설계인자인 비틀림 강성, 히스테리시스 토크에 따른 비틀림 진동 저감 효과를 연구하고자 한다.성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS.
