Analyses of Failure Causes and an Experimental Study on the Opening Characteristics of Swing Check Valves (스윙형 역지밸브의 고장 원인 분석과 열림 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Check valves playa vital role in the operation and protection of nuclear power plants. Check valves failure in nuclear power plants often lead to a plant transient or trip. The analysis of historical failure data gives information on the populations of various types of check valves, the systems they are installed in, failure modes, effects, methods of detection, and the mechanisms of the failures. A majority of check valve failures are caused by improper application. The experimental apparatus is designed and installed to measure the disc positions with flow velocity, Vopen and Vmin for 3 inch and 6 inch swing check valves. The minimum flow velocity necessary to just open the disc at a full open position is referred to as Vopen, and Vmin is defined as the minimum velocity to fully open the disc and hold it without motion. In the experiments, Vmin is determined as the minimum flow velocity at which the back stop load begins to increase after the disc is fully opened or the oscillation level of disc is reduced below $1^{\circ}$. The results show that the Vmin velocities for 3 inch and 6 inch swing check valves are about 27.3% and 17.5% higher than the Vopen velocities, respectively.

A Prediction of the Relation between the Disc Brake Temperature and the Hot Judder Critical Speed (주행 중 디스크 온도 변화와 열간 저더 임계속도와의 관계 예측)

  • In this paper, it was studied how the critical speed which could occur hot judder due to disk temperature. Through the dynamometer experiment, we measured the critical velocity and surface temperature when the hot judder occur on the disk break. Also with the critical velocity theory equation and the temperature change graph of factors which used in the equation, we was induced experiment equation including theory equation and experiment values. And it has compared with the method which approach as linea. From this, we predicted the change of critical speed which could occur hot judder due to disk temperature. In addition, critical speed graph has compared with actual driving speed and disc temperature at a vehicle test. Therefore it was estimate to possibility of arising hot judder.

In the experiments, $V_{min}$ is determined as the minimum flow velocity at which the back stop load begins to increase after the disc is idly opened or the oscillation level of disc is reduced below $1^{\circ}$. The results show that the $V_{min}$ velocities for 3 inch and 6 inch swing check valves are about 15.6% and 4.8% higher than the $V_{open}$ velocities, respectively. Although the experiments were done with the stable uniform flow, additional experiments will be performed to determine the effects of the upstream disturbances.

  • 미래 정보와 시대에서 중추적인 역할을 할 광관련 멀티미디어 장비들은 최근 관련 산업계에서 주목을 받기 시작하고 있고 특히 기존 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 시장을 대체할 차세대 DVDR(Digital Video Disk Recorder)는 기술전쟁이라고 할 정도로 선진 기업의 연구가 치열해지고 있다. DVDR 시스템에서는 필요한 정보들을 레이저빔을 이용한 광학신호로 바꾸어 광디스크에 기록, 재생하는 광픽업이 절대적으로 필요하게 된다. 그런데 광픽업의 위치추종기구인 Actuator는 정확한 위치추종(.+-.1.$\mu$m 오차이내)을 할 수 있는 성능이 요구되며 서보의 특성상 20KHz 이하에서 불필요한 모우드가 가진되지 않는 정밀부품이어야 하므로 Actuator 각 부품의 동적인 특성을 명확히 규명할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 Actuator 각 부품과 가동부 전체의 중량 및 진동해석을 통해 동특성을 조사하였다. 그리고 Actuator의 중요한 기본성능중 하나인 구동감도 확보여부를 검토할 필요가 있기 때문에 유한요소법 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 자기회로 부분에 대한 해석을 구하였다. 또한 가동부와 자기회로 등 하위부품을 조립하는 과정에서 발생하는 조립오차로 인해 불필요한 공진과 회전형상이 야기될 수 있으므로 동특성 및 문제점 파악을 위한 민감도 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가동부의 관성 모멘트 값과 강체에 대한 일반식을 이용한 자체 프로그램을 작성하여 조립공차를 구하였다. 이와같은 과정을 통해 구해진 설계값을 바탕으로 실제 제작된 Actuator에 대해서는 비접촉식 측정방법을 통해 동특성값을 측정하였고 이를 해석값과 상호 비교하였다.동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system.   • The guideline for railway noise mapping is notificated in the administration law for noise/vibration which is announced by the ministry of environment, Korea. Here input parameters for the railway sound sources are proposed for each prediction models. In case of the application of the vehicle characteristics it is suggested to choose "0(%)" for the disc brake parameter. However new trains have been in revenue service since the announcement of the guideline, an investigation of the effect of the input parameters of the foreign railway prediction models on the prediction results of korean railway systems are needed. In this paper the sound prediction results are analyzed with a focus on the input parameters such as disc brake percentage, rail roughness, rail joints. Schall03 is used for the railway noise prediction which has been using most frequently in Korea. The results are shown and discussed.

  • Railway construction in the random vibration natural phenomena, as well as a relatively regular train loads for dynamic loads, such as a usability and safety should be ensured. Vibration due to train loads and seismic vibrations caused by wind compared to the typically very small in size, rather than the safety of the structure affects the usability. Recently in the downtown area, ground and underground facilities, such as a permanent facility that may cause excessive vibration increases, associated with the construction of these transportation facilities on ground vibrations of structures has been increasing concern and complaint. More recently, high-speed train vibration and noise due to furnace is increasing. In order to solve this problem, such as soundproof considering several feet, but by applying the vibration and noise reduction measures insufficient for the study is Free. In this study, track structure, track, and the inside of the building to support the system, the different forms of neurological history and share about the history cheonanahsan high-speed rail, if passed by the bus stop on the train loads of noise, and the history of interior noise and vibration measurement / analysis of measurement results to assess the relative comparison with the relevant provisions were reviewed. Based on this history, future plans for the design of the bridge to reflect the results of a study is intended to provide information.   • Structural Dynamics Modification (SDM) is a very effective technique to improve structure's dynamic characteristics by adding or removing auxiliary structures, changing material properties and shape of structure. Among those of SDM technique, the method to change shape of structure has been mostly relied on engineer's experience and trial-and-error process which are very time consuming. In order to develop a systematic method to change structure shape, surface grooving technique is studied and successfully applied to HDD cover model. To verify Surface Grooving Technique, fully embossed HDD cover model was optimized. And comparing with previous optimization result, the effectiveness of this surface grooving technique was checked. The shape of groove and 1 st natural frequency were converged to the same result of previous optimization.

Non-contact Vibration Suppression of a Rotating Flexible Disk (회전 유연 디스크의 비 접촉 진동 억제)

  • Current information storage devices read/write data on the rotating disk. The axial vibration of a rotating disk should be suppressed for the successful operation of the device. Information storage devices widely used in these days adopt relatively thick disk which is stiff enough to suppress axial vibration under allowable limit. However, the thickness of the disk is going to be thinner and thinner as the small form factor of the devices is getting preferred by the consumer. In this study, a stabilizer system, which is composed with 8 air bearings, is proposed for suppressing the axial vibration of a $95{\mu}m$ thick PC disk in a non-contacting manner. The performance of the stabilizer system is simulated by numerical computation and then confirmed its results through a series of experiment. A thin and flexible disk has various vibration modes when it rotates in high speed. The stabilizer system generates positive as well as negative pressure due to the rotation of flexible disk so that the force due to the pressure distribution pushes and pulls rotating disk in a non-contacting manner. The balance between positive and negative pressure forces can be obtained by adjusting the area and the slope of the air bearing surface. The axial vibration of the flexible disk of 120mm diameter is suppressed successfully from over $1000{\mu}m$ to $30{\mu}m$ peak-to-peak value at the rotational speed of 5,000rpm.

  • NAND flash memory has been widely used than traditional HDD in PDA and other mobile devices, embedded systems, PC because of faster access speed, low power consumption, vibration resistance and other benefits. DiskSim and other HDD simulators has been developed that for find improvements for the software or hardware. But there is a few Linux-based simulators for NAND flash memory and SSD. There is necessary for Windows-based NAND flash simulator because storage devices and PC using Windows. This paper describe for development of simulator-NFSim for FTL performance analysis in NAND flash. NFSim is used to measure performance of various FTL algorithms and FTL wear-level. NAND flash memory model and FTL algorithm developed using Windows Driver Model and class for scalability. There is no need for another tools because NFSim using graph tool for data measure of FTL performance.

  • In this work, an insulated coupling test machine for a 5-MW-class wind turbine was designed and developed, along with the public performance testing of a 3-MW-class wind turbine. The results of the device design, development requirements, functional considerations, structural vibration analysis, and the evaluation of the insulated coupling test machine are presented in this study. For the coupling models, thick fiberglass composite pipe insulation, fabricated by filament winding, was considered. Results of three-dimensional finite element analysis conducted using both solid element and shell element modeling were analyzed and compared, considering the effect of thickness. In addition, results from the nonlinear finite element analysis of multiple leaf springs of the laminated disk pack structure were verified and compared with experimental data.
