  • 5G will bring revolutionary development in mobile communication, and it is anticipated to have complete commercialization including mass adoption rate by 2020s. High number of smart devices including IoT, wearable devices, etc., which have high amount of data usage, will involve even higher data traffics. In addition, media dependency and demand is rapidly rising. These environmental aspects will necessity and sufficient condition for successful implementation of 5G mobile communication system. In this paper, global cooperation and competition for 5G technology leadership will be analyzed and summarized. Through this, proper solution to maintain competency of Korea in future will be proposed.

Recommendation using Service Ontology based Context Awareness Modeling (서비스 온톨로지 기반의 상황인식 모델링을 이용한 추천)

  • In the IT convergence environment changed with not only the quality but also the material abundance, it is the most crucial factor for the strategy of personalized recommendation services to investigate the context information. In this paper, we proposed the recommendation using the service ontology based context awareness modeling. The proposed method establishes a data acquisition model based on the OSGi framework and develops a context information model based on ontology in order to perform the device environment between different kinds of systems. In addition, the context information will be extracted and classified for implementing the recommendation system used for the context information model. This study develops the ontology based context awareness model using the context information and applies it to the recommendation of the collaborative filtering. The context awareness model reflects the information that selects services according to the context using the Naive Bayes classifier and provides it to users. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we conducted sample T-tests so as to verify usefulness. This evaluation found that the difference of satisfaction by service was statistically meaningful, and showed high satisfaction.

Design and Implementation of CNN-based HMI System using Doppler Radar and Voice Sensor (도플러 레이다 및 음성 센서를 활용한 CNN 기반 HMI 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose CNN-based HMI system using Doppler radar and voice sensor, and present hardware design and implementation results. To overcome the limitation of single sensor monitoring, the proposed HMI system combines data from two sensors to improve performance. The proposed system exhibits improved performance by 3.5% and 12% compared to a single radar and voice sensor-based classifier in noisy environment. In addition, hardware to accelerate the complex computational unit of CNN is implemented and verified on the FPGA test system. As a result of performance evaluation, the proposed HMI acceleration platform can be processed with 95% reduction in computation time compared to a single software-based design.

  • Recently, companies are growing by introducing rational and optimized technology for all processes, including design. In particular, the emergence of ICT-based cloud platforms has given rise to solutions that are equipped with all the necessary business services in corporations and schools, affecting technical education and corporate growth that have not been experienced thus far. The virtual reality technology and convergence of HMD devices utilizing this platform is a new turning point in corporate development. Therefore, this study tested the VR functions used in design based on 3DEXP and HMD VR devices. Second, design utilization and this issue were examined through a survey based on the experimental data. The results showed that 3DEXP and HMD VR technologies are closely related in terms of design utilization and have demonstrated their mediated effects through statistical analysis. Nevertheless, it is not enough to generalize some engineering students as a result of the study. On the other hand, the introduction of HMD VR technology is one of the pillars of education and the implementation of virtual reality technology.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to derive valuable but hidden infromation from the data which is the core foundation in the 4th Industrial Revolution to pursue knowledge-based service fusion. The hyper-connected societies characterized by IoT inevitably produce big data, and with the data in order to derive optimal services for trouble situations it is first processed by discovering valuable information. A data-centric IoT platform is a platform to collect, store, manage, and integrate the data from variable devices, which is actually a type of middleware platforms. Its purpose is to provide suitable solutions for challenged problems after processing and analyzing the data, that depends on efficient and accurate algorithms performing the work of data analysis. To this end, we propose specially designed structures to store IoT data without losing the semantics and provide algorithms to discover the useful information with several definitions and proofs to show the soundness.

  • In recent years, as the importance of history has increased through various social issues, media, and journalists in Korea, it has led to the value of 'right history' and 'teaching history that is right. History of a country is also a core asset in a country 's cultural contents industry, and historical relics are important to prove its value. As the interest in the historical and cultural heritage has increased, researches to develop it as cultural contents by restoring it as information and communication technology such as multimedia and virtual reality are active. In this paper, we propose convergence device and contents that can provide rich experience and various learning opportunities in artifact experience through restoration of artifacts using augmented reality. The study on the application effect of educational game contents which can add fun can be continued.

  • Wearable device, along with IoT(Internet of Things), is considered the core of upcoming generation's convergence technology. Companies are intensely competing one another for prior occupation in the smartwatch market. Consumers that use smartwatch express their preferences by sharing their opinions through SNS(Social Networking Service). Through this study, emotions dictionary is built, which consists of attributes and emotional words related to smartwatch. Based on the emotions dictionary, SNS data has been categorized according to the attributes through opinion data model. Afterwards, overall polarity and attribute polarity of collected data are distinguished through natural language parsing, followed by an analysis of smartwatch reviews. This study will contribute to determination of which attributes of smartwatch to be improved, to arise consumer's interest for individual smartwatch.

  • Recently, diverse bio-growth and object production experience learning contents have been developed for AR-based storytelling. In this paper, we will develop a storytelling-based growth type content using 3D printer which can add interest in and motivation of experiential learning. It is possible to increase the value of the characters produced by 3D printer as they can be used as personal collections. The bio-growth type content enables the learners and users to experience the local culture, history, and tourism ecology, which can enhance the educational effect by promoting their understanding in a fun way. The purpose of this study is to develop an application for experiential learning contents which creates a virtual environment in an object smart device where you can experience the culture and ecology of a learning community, and then produce the output using the 3D printer to keep as a personal souvenir. The developed contents application for experiential learning can be utilized not only for students but also for tourists. It is expected to serve as a source for further development of various contents through 3D printing technology.

  • Our society has evolved into a fully connected society in a mixed reality environment enabling various knowledge sharing / management / control / creation due to the expansion of broadband ICT infrastructure, smart devices, cloud services and social media services. Therefore cyber threats have increased with the convenience. The society of the future can cause more complex and subtle problems, if you do not have an effective response to cyber threats, due to fusion of logical space and physical space, organic connection of the smart object and the universalization of fully connected society. In this paper, we propose the strategy to build knowledge-base as the basis to actively respond to new cyber threats caused by future various environmental changes and the universalization of fully connected society.
