이 연구에서는 이공계 대학생 355명을 설문 조사하여 의사소통 교육에 대한 실증적인 인식을 파악하였으며 이 연구에서 조사한 내용 중 중요한 사항은 다음과 같다. 이공계 학생들은 의사소통 영역에서 가장 취약한 부분은 듣기와 말하기 부분인 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 현상은 오늘날 소통의 시대에서 듣기와 말하기 역량이 업무 성과와 밀접하게 연결되어 있는 현상과 관련되어 있는 것으로 앞으로 읽기와 쓰기 못지 않게 듣기와 말하기 역량을 높여야 한다는 것을 의미한다고 해석할 수 있다. 이 연구는 이공계 대학생들의 의사소통 교육에 대한 인식을 실증적으로 조사하여 앞으로 의사소통 교육프로그램을 개발하는 데에 기초를 제공하는 데에 의미가 있다고 할 것이다.

This study attempts to provide a comprehensive framework for listening strategy use among university students in Korea in relation to TOEIC listening scores. In particular, this study tests whether motivation, based on the self-determination theory, mediates listening strategy use on listening comprehension (LC) process and whether reading comprehension ability moderates the use of listening strategy in LC achievement. One hundred seventy six freshmen students participated in the study during their first semester required English course. Self-report questionnaires were used to assess students' motivation and LC strategy use. The responses were statistically analyzed via the moderator and mediator model. The results indicate that internalized motivation mediates the use of listening strategy in LC achievement; however, reading comprehension skill doesn't affect students' use of listening strategies in relation to listening skill achievement. In other words, students who have internalized motivation were able to utilize listening strategies effectively in terms of achievement of the TOEIC listening skills. The findings of the current study offer in-depth understanding of the relationship among use of LC strategies, intrinsic motivation, and listening skill achievement shared by the mediator and moderator models.

This study was designed to identify students' perceptions and attitudes towards dictation practice in English listening classes and investigate the relationships among 5 factors with regard to dictation practice: participation, usefulness, interest, motivation, and confidence. For the study, the research was implemented for 15 weeks with 41 Korean university students. The subjects had dictation practice in their English listening classes on a regular basis for one semester. At the end of the semester, a questionnaire was used to find out students' perceptions and attitudes towards dictation practice. For the analysis of the subject's responses, first, a descriptive analysis was administered. After that, a correlation analysis was done to explore what the relations among 5 factors were. Results indicated that most students actively participated in the class, and they regarded dictation as a very useful practice in their listening classes. Also, the dictation practice motivated students not only for English listening but also for overall English studying. However, more than two third students showed low interest and confidence in the class. As for the correlations among 5 factors, there were very strong correlations between usefulness and motivation, usefulness and confidence, interest and motivation, interest and confidence, and confidence and motivation. Based on the results, some implications were presented and some guidelines for effective dictation practice were suggested.

국내 교육용 모바일 콘텐츠의 대부분이 영어 등의 외국어 학습용으로 치중되어 있으며, 이동통신사와 교육전문업체가 제휴하여 동영상 등과 같은 콘텐츠를 모바일 단말기에 제공하는 형태가 일반적이다. 최근에는 아이폰, 구글폰 등과 같은 다양한 종류의 스마트 폰의 출시에 따라 교육용 콘텐츠의 모바일 플랫폼이 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 외국어로서의 한국어 학습을 효과적으로 지원하기 위하여 한국어교육용 듣기 교육 콘텐츠를 설계한다. 세부적으로 스마트폰의 개방형 플랫폼인 구글의 안드로이드 OS를 기반으로 콘텐츠가 구현 및 운영될 수 있도록 세부 설계를 수행한다.

가정환경 아동듣기평가 (Children's Home Inventory for Listening Difficulties, CHILD)는 청각장애 아동의 가정환경에서의 듣기 어려움을 평가하기 위한 부모용 설문지로 임상에서 널리 사용되고 있는 도구이다. 본 연구의 목적은 CHILD를 한국어로 번역하고 국내의 인공와우 착용 유아 및 학령기 아동을 대상으로 실시함으로써 검사의 내적 신뢰도를 평가하고 아동의 가정환경 내 의사소통 및 청각 이해도를 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 국내 인공와우를 착용한 청각장애 아동의 부모 55명(유아 27명, 초등 28명)을 대상으로 한국어 버전 CHILD 부모용 설문지 검사를 실시하였다. 내적일치도를 확인하였으며, 연령대(유아, 초등)와 평가요인(조용한 상황, 소음 상황, 먼거리 상황, 사회적 상황, 미디어 상황)를 비교하기 위하여 혼합요인 반복측정 분산분석 및 사후분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 한국어 버전 CHILD의 전체 크론바흐 알파값은 .96(조용한 상황 .96, 소음 상황 .93, 먼 거리 상황 .82, 사회적 상황 .93)이었다. 연령대와 평가요인 간 상호작용은 유의하지 않았으나, 초등 연령대의 점수가 유아 연령대에 비해 모든 상황에서 유의미하게 높았다. 전체 연령대에서 조용한 상황 요인이 가장 높은 점수를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 유아와 초등 연령대 양쪽에서 가장 낮은 점수를 보인 것은 사회적 상황 요인이었으며 분석 결과, 인공와우 착용아동들은 사회적 상황이 다른 듣기 어려운 상황과 결합될 때 특히 어려워하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연에서 CHILD 부모용 설문지를 한국어로 번역하고 국내 임상에 적용한 결과는 유효하였으므로 한국어 버전 CHILD를 국내 가정환경에서 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

This paper investigates the effects of small group collaborative transcription activities on the improvement of university students' English listening ability. Based on the results of pre-tests, a class of 42 students was subdivided into 11 small homogeneous groups of three to four students. Each group was provided with 7 different news items to be transcribed. Means were compared between pre-test and post-test scores, followed by comparison of transcription errors in content and function words. Finally, students' perception and attitudes about the use of small group transcription for improving listening skills were qualitatively analysed and compared with pre- and post test results. It was found that post test scores highly correlated with improvement of listening ability. It was also found that groups of high degree of collaboration showed improvement in listening ability while lack of collaboration contributed to loss of interests in listening. Students who see process more important were found to make more contribution to the group success than those who place more emphasis on the results.

본 연구의 목적은 스마트 교육을 위한 수해양 전공학생과 일반고 학생의 스마트폰 활용 행태를 비교하고 그 차이를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 일반고 학생과 수해양 관련 전공 계열의 학생 총 2,725명을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 연구결과 스마트폰 활용 행태에서 수해양 전공 학생들은 음악듣기, 동영상 감상, 시간보기, SNS, 학습 이외 정보검색 등의 순으로 나타났다. 일반고 학생들은 음악듣기, 동영상감상, 학습 이외 정보검색, 시간보기, SNS 등의 순으로 나타났다. 스마트폰 활용 행태 차이의 상위 세 항목은 게임, 19세 이상사이트 이용, 웹툰에서 비교적 큰 평균차이가 나타났다.

The aim of this paper was to diagnose Korean college students' listening skills on the TOEFL. The researchers identified which section, among the TOEFL listening Part A, B, and C, is most easily teachable/ improvable during the period of a semester. First, the result of this research shows that Korean students tend to have lower scores in Part A than Part B or Part C. The results indicate that the short informal conversation doesn't give sufficient clues to students, and they don't have enough time to infer the answer. Second, the results revealed that. students showed the lowest progress in Part B after they studied TOEFL listening items and essential idioms for the listening section for 13 weeks. Because students didn't have much experience learning the informal conversation as opposed to the formal one in English, it is harder to achieve an improved grade in Part B, which consists of the informal conversation. But after a semester-long listening course, the average score on TOEFL listening sections increased.
