Analysis of Internal Dynamics in Modular Multilevel Converter for Reducing Power Oscillation Under Grid Voltage Distortion (AC 계통 불평형 조건에서 출력동요 저감을 위한 MMC 내부 동적특성 분석)

  • 본 논문은 AC 계통 불평형 발생 시 출력전력의 동요를 저감시키기 위한 POD 전략을 수행하는 MMC-HVDC 시스템의 내부 동적상태를 분석하였다. POD 전략을 통해서 MMC 출력전류의 역상분을 제어하여 계통에 주입되는 유효 전력의 발진을 제거함으로써, MMC-HVDC 시스템이 연계된 인근 계통에 공급 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있다. POD 전략에서 유효 전력만 출력할 경우, MMC의 각 상에는 동일한 전력이 흐른다. 반면, 계통 전압 보상을 위해서 무효 전력을 동시에 공급할 경우, 각 상에 흐르는 전력은 불균형해지기 때문에 MMC의 암전류 불평형이 발생하여 스위치 소자의 정격 용량 및 열 스트레스를 증가 시켜 MMC의 안정성을 저해시킨다. 본 논문은 POD 전략을 수행하기 위해서 무효 전력이 MMC 암 전류에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며, 200 MW MMC-HVDC 모델을 바탕으로 PSCAD/EMTDC 시뮬레이션 툴을 이용하여 분석 결과를 검증하였다.

  • This paper is proposed a novel method that computed approximately maximum power of photovoltaic system and solar tracking method. Proposed novel is linear reoriented coordinates method(LRCM), this paper is proposed new mathematical dynamic model using LRMC and DC dynamic equation. LRCM has the advantage that is decreased calculating time, decides optimal voltage and maximum power that generates continually. Furthermore solar tracking method is improved over 50[%] photovoltaic efficiency than fixed method. This paper is proposed MPPT using LRCM and solar tracking method using program method that is adequate domestic conditions, prove verify of proposed method through experiment.

  • This paper suggests an advanced 8T SRAM which can operate properly in subthreshold voltage regime. The memory cell consists of symmetric 8 transistors, in which the latch storing data is controlled by a column-wise assistline. During the read, the data storage nodes are temporarily decoupled from the read path, thus eliminating the read disturbance. Additionally, the cell keeps the noise-vulnerable 'low' node close to the ground, thereby improving the dummy-read stability. In the write, the boosted wordline facilitates to change the contents of the memory bit. At 0.4 V supply, the advanced 8T cell achieves 65% higher dummy-read stability and 3.7 times better write-ability compared to the commercialized 8T cell. The proposed cell and circuit techniques have been verified in a 16-kbit SRAM array designed with an industrial 180-nm low-power CMOS process.

  • This paper presents harmonic evaluation of an IAT(Intra Airport Transit) system in Incheon International Airport. It will be used for electric vehicles with 80[kW] per car produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, and which is constructed with SIV(Static Inverter), VVVF controller and two induction motor. The vehicles operated in the IAT system can be treated as rapidly changing DC loat and at a feeding substation, 3-phase electric power is transferred to DC 750[V] by rectifier. Since vehicles are changing continuously, the voltages for the load fluctuate in the IAT system, and moreover, the voltage fluctuation generates high-order harmonics. It results the difficulty in maintaining power quality in KEPCO systems' side. The power quality of the IAT system in Incheon International Airport is evaluated using PSCAD/EMTDC simulator in the paper. The THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) of voltages and TDD(Total Demand Distortion) of currents, indices are calculated for the IAT system using the results of PSCAD/EMTDC dynamic simulation.

  • 본 논문에서는 2단 AC/DC 컨버터와 단일단 AC/DC 컨버터가 가지고 있는 단점들을 개선 할 수 있는 새로운 준 단일 전력단 컨버터를 제안한다. DC/DC 단으로는 동적 특성이 좋은 LLC 컨버터를 채용하여 별도의 제어기 없이 고정 주파수 및 고정 Duty(50%) 발생기에 의해 Open Loop로 구동 시킴으로써 저가격화 및 고효율화를 획득 할 수 있다. 또한 역률개선단은 Boost 컨버터를 채용하고 간단한 제어기 1개를 사용하여 역률 개선과 동시에 DC/DC 단의 최종출력을 제어한다. 기존 2단 PFC 컨버터와는 다르게 PFC 링크전압을 Feedback 하지 않고 DC/DC 단의 최종 출력을 Feedback 하여 제어한다. 제안된 회로의 우수성 검증을 위해 600W급 시작품을 이용한 실험 결과를 제시한다.

  • Harmonics (or distortion in wave form) has always existed in electrical power systems. It is harmless as long as its level is not substantial. However, with the recent rapid advancement of power electronics technology, so-called nonlinear loads, such as variable frequency drives for motor power/speed control, are increasingly finding their way to shipboard or offshore applications. In this paper a new approach to direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor drive is presented. In comparison with the conventional DTC methods the inverter switching frequency is constant and is dramatically increased, requiring neither any increase of the sampling frequency, nor any high frequency dither signal. The well-developed space vector modulation technique is applied to inverter control in the proposed DTC-based induction motor drive system, thereby dramatically reducing the current harmonics. As compared to the existing DTC approach with constant inverter switching frequency, the presented new approach does not invoke any concept of deadbeat control, thereby dramatically reducing the computations.

Design of 3V CMOS Continuous-Time Filter Using Fully-Balanced Current Integrator (완전평형 전류 적분기를 이용한 3V CMOS 연속시간 필터 설계)

  • In this paper, a continuous-time filter for low voltage and high frequency applications using fully-balanced current integrators is presented. As the balanced structure of integrator circuits, the designed filter has improved noise characteristics and wide dynamic range since even-order harmonics are cancelled and the input signal range is doubled. Using complementary current mirrors, bias circuits are simplified and the cutoff frequency of filters can be controlled easily by a single DC bias current. As a design example, the 3rd-order lowpass Butterworth filter with a leapfrog realization is designed. The designed fully-balanced current-mode filter is simulated and examined by SPICE using 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS n-well process parameters. The simulation results show 50MHz cutoff frequency, 69㏈ dynamic range with 1% total harmonic distortion(THD), and 4㎽ power dissipation with a 3V supply voltage.

  • This paper proposes a power feedforward technique for the performance improvement of DC-link voltage control in the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). The DC-link Voltage is able to be unstable for an instant owing to any change in the load and voltage sag. The distortion of the DC-link voltage leads to the negative influence on the performance of DVR. To mitigate the distortion of the DC-link voltage, the power feedforward component is calculated by the load power and the grid voltage, and then it is added to the reference current of the conventional DC-link voltage controller. By including output power feedforward component on the DC-link controller, the DC-link voltage can settle down more quickly than when the conventional DC-link voltage controller applied. The proposed technique was validated through the simulation and experimental results.

  • 본 논문은 최대 전력점을 추종하는 기존 P&O 방식의 동적 응답 특성을 향상시키기 위해 가변 스텝 사이즈를 적용한 P&O 방식 기반의 MPPT 알고리즘을 제안하였으며, 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 검증하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 듀티 제어를 통해 최대 전력점을 추종하며, 2가지 동작모드로써 가변 스텝 모드와 고속모드로 구성된다. 일사량이 일정한 경우, 가변 스텝 모드에서 듀티의 스텝 사이즈 감소를 통해 최대 전력점에서 동작점의 전압변동이 작아짐에 따라 진동이 감소하여 발전 효율이 증가한다. 일사량이 변동하는 경우, MPPT 오류를 피하기 위해 듀티와 PV 전압은 일정하게 유지하며, 일사량 변화가 끝난 시점에서 고속모드 동작을 통해 빠르게 최대 전력점으로 추종한다. 최대 전력점에 도달하면 가변 스텝 모드로 변경하여 듀티 스텝 사이즈를 감소시켜 최대 전력점을 추종한다. PV 패널, 부스트 컨버터로 구성된 PV 시스템의 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통해 제안된 알고리즘의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Dynamic voltage restorer(DVR) is now more preferable enhancement than other power quality enhancement in industry to reduce the impact of voltage faults, especially voltage sags to sensitive loads. The main controllers for DVR consists of PLL(phase locked loop), compensation voltage calculator and voltage compensator. PLL detects the voltage faults and phase. Compensation voltage calculator calculates the reference voltage from the source voltage and phase. With calculated compensation voltage from PLL, voltage compensator restores the source voltage. If PLL detect ideal phase, compensation voltage calculator calculates ideal compensation voltage. Therefore, PLL for DVR is very important. This paper proposes the new method of PLL in DVR. First, the power circuit of DVR system is analyzed in order to compensate the voltage sags. Based on the analysis, new PLL for improving transient response of DVR is proposed. The proposed method uses band rejection filter(BRF) at q-axis in synchronous flame. In order to calculate compensation voltage in commercial instruments, the PQR theory is used. Proposed PLL method is demonstrated through simulation using Matlab-Simulink and experiment, and by checking load voltage, confirms operation of the DVR
