Money Beliefs and Behaviors and Experiences of Female College Students; A Comparison of Korean, Japanese, Korean-and Japanese-American Students (여대생들의 돈에 대한 태도와 경험 : 한국, 일본 및 한국계, 일본계 미국 여대생 비교)

  • This paper compared the money beliefs and behaviors and the experiences of four different groups of female college students using furnham's(1984) money Beliefs and Behaviors (MBBS) scale. These four groups were Korean, Japanese, Korean-American, and Japanese American. Two hundreds of female college students were surveyed. Results from an exploratory factor analysis of the MBBS indicate the four factors: Obsession, Power, Anxiety, and Budget. There were significant differences in factors of the money beliefs and behaviors and the selected variables of the money experiences among compared four groups.

Differences in Attitudes and Behaviors toward Money of the College Students after and before IMF Economic Crisis (IMF 경제위기 전후 대학생의 돈에 대한 태도와 행동 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the attitudes and behaviors toward money among college students after and before IMF economic crisis. The subject of investigation consists of 389 students in the year of 1995 and 112 students in the year of 2000 in Wonkwang university. The major findings are as follows: 1) The exploratory factor analysis of money attitudes and behaviors scale drew four factors such as; power, obsession, money management and pleasure. 2) Male students have a tendency more likely than females not only to look upon money as power but also to have an obsession before IMF economic crisis. But gender differences were disappeared after. 3) In comparison of the before and after IMF economic crisis, the behavior value in reference to money is generally increased. The social power and the cognitive attitude like an obsessional increased smaller than that of a practical such as money management or pleasure. The pleasure is raised the largest. 4) The level of attitudes and behavior for money management is raised the most for female students while, the value of the pleasure has the greatest increase for male students rate.

Behavior of NO3-N Derived from Pig Manure in Soil (돈분(豚糞)에서 유래(由來)한 질산태질소(窒酸態窒素)의 토양(土壤)중 행동(行動))

  • Micro plot study was conducted to elucidate the behavior of nitrogen derived from animal manure in soil and to obtain the fundamental information on animal waste management. Soils used in this experiment were sandy loam and loam. Soil water samplers (1m length ceramic cup tube) were installed at 90cm depth of soil to collect the percolate. Fresh and fermented pig manure were applied at the rate of 0, 50, 100 ton per ha. Maize was grown to evaluate the effect of crop on nitrogen behavior through soil profile. Concentration of nitrate nitrogen in percolate increased by application of pig manure. This trend was more obvious at the loam with fermented pig manure than sandy loam with fresh pig manure treatment. The concentration of nitrate nitrogen was lower under the maize cultivation than bare soil condition by 64.6-68.9%. Concentration of Ca, Mg and Na of soil and percolate increased as nitrate nitrogen concentration increased. The equivalent ratio of cation to nitrate nitrogen of percolate was increased by application of pig manure. This result showed that canon leaching was accompanied by nitrate nitrogen. Concentration of nitrate nitrogen of subsurface soil was increased by pig manure application.

The Effect of Consumer Knowledge, Money Attitude and Consumption Values on Rational Consumption Behavior in Adolescent (청소년의 소비자지식, 돈에 대한 태도 및 소비가치가 합리적 소비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study waw to investigate the effect of consumer knowledge of adolescents, money attitudes and consumption values on rational consumption behavior and the direct and indirect effects of these variables on rational consumption behavior. The subjects of this study were 524 students who were in the first grade and second grade of high school in Daegu. Multiple Regression Analysis and Path Analysis were employed for the data analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the knowledge of money management, the purchase knowledge and the consumerism knowledge effected on the money attitude, which regarded money as an instrument of future safety. Among these, it was found that the money management knowledge had the highest affect on this money attitude. The result suggests that the consumer knowledge affects desirable money attitude which regarded money as an instrument of future safety, and then consumer education influences positively money attitude. Second, the money attitude which regarded money as an instrument of future safety affected consumption values most, and the money attitude which regarded money as a means for approval of another person affected the ostentation, the conformity, the discrimination and the aesthetic enjoyment of consumption values. Third, the present study showed that the money attitude which regards money as an instrument of future safety and the economical consumption values were the important factor which affecting each subdimension of the rational consumption behavior. The result suggests the adolescents, who managed money well, saved it for the future, and saved the resources as much as possible when consuming, behaved rational and planned way through all process all process all consumption behaviors. Fourth, the consumer knowledge did not affect the rational consumption behavior directly, but indirectly through the money attitude and the consumption values. Therefore, the consumer knowledge, the money attitude and the consumption values were the important factor for the rational consumption behavior, and it revealed money attitude and consumption values played role as mediate variable. This study results suggest the consumer knowledge that adolescent have learned in school was theoretical and abstract, so it does not affect directly the rational consumption behavior. However these consumer consumption values affect the consumption behavior.

Changes in Chemical Properties and Effect on Germination of Radish Seed from Aeration of Co-digestate Fertilizers (통합 혐기소화액별 폭기처리에 따른 화학적 성분 변화와 무의 발아효과)

  • This study aimed to determine the minimum period of aeration treatment of co-digestate to develop it as liquid fertilizer and the chemical changes that occur in the aerobic liquefying process. The co-digestates were divided into three types depending on their additives: swine slurry anaerobic digestate (SS AD), swine slurry 70% + cow slurry 30% anaerobic digestate (SS + CS AD), and swine slurry 70% + apple pomace 30% anaerobic digestate (SS + AP AD). The pH of all co-digestates increased rapidly after 3 days of aerobic treatment, but had slightly decreased in SS AD after 9 days and in SS + CS AD and SS + AP AD after 15 days. All co-digestates showed a strongly reduced pH between 27 and 36 days of aeration treatment. SS AD had lower pH value, dissolved oxygen (DO), NH4-N, and NO3-N content under aerobic conditions than other co-digestates. To assess the fully decomposed liquid fertilizer, a germination test was performed on the undiluted and diluted co-digestate using the liquid fertilizer germination index (LFGI) method. The relative germination ratio, relative root elongation, and germination index of SS AD were higher than those of the others. When the LFGI method was used for the germination test, all co-digestates showed an appropriate germination index of 70 after 60 days of aeration treatment. Thus, we suggest that the minimum period of aeration treatment for co-digestates might be 60 days to develop the fully decomposed liquid fertilizer.

A Study on the Money Attitudes and the Spending Behaviors by Middle, High, and College Students - Comparison by Adolescent Stage and Sex - (중, 고, 대학생의 돈에 대한 태도와 소비행동에 관한 연구 - 청소년 단계와 성별 비교 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of their money attitudes to spending behaviors of middle, high, and college students. The total number of students selected for this study were 1,252. Factor analysis, Cronbach' ${\alpha}$, two-way ANOVA, Duncan' multiple range test, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression were used for statistical analysis. The results were summarized as followings: 1) The tendency of attitude that money is good was highest. Also, the tendency of attitude that money represents freedom and power was slightly high. On the other hand the attitudes that money represents achievement, and that money is evil were low. Especially the attitude that money represents respect was lowest. 2) Resulting from two-way ANOVA, the attitudes that money is good and represents achievement showed significant interaction effects between sex and age. The altitude that money is good showed significant differences by sex especially among middle and high school students. The altitude that money represents achievement showed significant differences by age among the male students. Three types of attitudes that money is evil, money represents respect, and money represents both freedom and power showed significant main effects in different age groups. Also the attitude that money represents freedom and power showed significant main effect by different sexes. 3) Four different types of measuring spending behaviors scored slightly low mark. 4) Resulting from two-way ANOVA, four different spending behaviors showed significant difference only by sexes and ages. Planned spalding behavior and conscious spending behavior showed significant differences in ages and sexes separately. While impulsive spending behavior by different age groups resulted in significant differences. Excessive spending behavior by sexes resulted in significant differences. 5) Regression analysis showed that planned spending behavior had the linear relationships in no, sex, self-esteem, and attitude that money is good. Conscious spending behavior had the linear relationships in ses, and attitudes that money represent achievement. respect, and freedom. Impulsive spending behavior had the linear relationships in age, self-esteem, and attitudes that money is good and that money is evil, and attitude that money represent freedom, Excessive spending behavior had the linear relationships in sex, self-esteem, and attitudes that money represent achievement, respect and freedom.

Classification and Analysis according to the Luxury - Frugality Consumption of Female Consumers (여성소비자의 사치 - 검약소비 유형분류 및 특성분석)

  • The purpose of this research is to explore the levels of luxury-frugality consumption of the female consumers and classify their types on luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. Total of 479 on-line questionnaires were surveyed nationwide for this research in February, 2012. Statistical analysis was achieved by using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, ${\chi}^2$, and Ward' hierarchical cluster analysis with a total of 479 questionnaires. The research results are summarized as follows: First, the overall luxury-frugality consumption average mark of female consumers was 2.44. Second, all surveyed female consumers were classified into four types based on the means scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors. A total 26.51% of female consumers belonged to Type 1 (named as luxury consumption group) where females scored high points on two dimension luxury consumption behaviors. Type 2 (named as excessive consumption group) occupied 32.78% and this group scored low on the luxurious consumption but high on the overconsumption. Type 3 (named as prefer prestige group) occupied 28.39% and this group scored low on the overconsumption but high on the luxurious consumption. Type 4 (named as frugal consumption group) had 12.32% of females whose scores of two dimension luxury-frugality consumption behaviors were low.

  • [ $\lcei$ ]여기 시골에 한 나뭇꾼이 있다. 그는 매일 산에 올라 나무를 베어 시장에 내어 그 수입으로 생계를 유지한다. 그는 '어떻게 하든지 해가 지기전 조금이라도 더 많은 나무를 베어야겠다' 하며 열심히 일을 한다. 나무를 베는 사람에게는 이말이 지상과제이며 부지런하게 나무를 벨수록 그는 돈을 많이 벌것이며 땔감인 이 나무중 어느 하나가 더 길거나 짧아도 상관없을 것이다. 그러나 양계가가 이 중요한 사양 관리부문을 이런식의 태도로 임하였다면 그는 그에게 돌아올 이익을 뚝 잘라버린 것이다. 적절한 디비킹은 철저한 기술의 숙달이 요구되며 기대와 인내를 가지고 진행해야 되며 실시하는 시기와 방법에 대한 정확한 지식을 가져야 한다.

Knowledge, Attitude and Performance on the Hand Washing by Pre-practicum Nursing Students (임상실습 전 간호대학생의 손씻기에 대한 지식, 태도 및 수행도)

  • This study was done to investigate characteristics, knowledge, attitude, and performance on hand washing by nursing students who are prone to have clinical practice. Data were collected from 418 students in 3 nursing colleges from September to October, 2011 using questionnaire. The mean frequency and duration of hand washing were 7.2 times a day and 19.1 sec. The mean scores of knowledge, attitude, and performance on hand washing were 11.34(range 0~15), 3.42(range 1~5), 3.6(range 1~5), respectively. Above a half of students don't know about appropriate duration for hand washing and precautions after washing hands. Washing hands after rubbing nose, coughing, sneezing and handling the money and removing watch before hand washing were little performed. These results should be useful in development of education program for improving hand washing performance of nursing students.

초등학생의 간식 구매 빈도 및 관련 식생태적 요인 분석연구

  • 최근 초등학생들은 간식은 물론 끼니를 위해서 스스로 식품이나 음식을 선택하고 구매하는 식생활 관리의 주체자가 되고 있다. 본 연구는 초등학생의 간식구매실태와 이에 영향을 미치는 식생태적 요인을 파악하고자, 서울과 충청남도의 대도시, 소도시 및 농촌의 4개 지역의 초등학생 4, 5, 6학년 총 431명(남 223, 여 208)과 그 학부모를 대상으로 간식섭취, PC와 TV 이용도, 학부모의 영양지식과 식태도, 간식구매빈도 등을 설문지 조사를 하였다. 조사대상 초등학생의 평균 신장과 체중은 교육부의 학생 신체검사 결과보다 약간 높거나 비슷하였으나, 조사대상의 30.6%가 저체중이고 10.8%가 비만이었다. 가정의 월 소득은 101-200만원이 가장 많았고(56.3%), 아버지는 대졸 이상이 59.7%, 어머니는 고졸 이상이 55.9%로 가장 많았으며, 어머니는 44.1%가 직업을 갖고 있었다. 학생의 월 용돈은 2,001-5,000원이 31.0%로 가장 많았으며 간식 비는 1일에 500원 미만이 46.0%로 가장 많았다. 간식섭취 빈도는 1일에 1번 섭취가 51.5%로 가장 많았고 간식 구매 시 고려사항은 맛, 가격, 영양가와 유통기한의 순 이었다. 조사대상의 46.9%가 PC통신 또는 인터넷을 사용하였고 사용시간은 1시간 미만이 53.8%로 가장 많았으며, 하루 평균 TV 시청시간은 2~4시간미만이 46.4%로 가장 많았다. 학부모의 평균 영양지식 점수는 13개 문항 중 8.16 $\pm$ 2.16으로서 평균 62.8%의 정답 율을 보였으며, 식 태도 점수는 총 50점 만점에 전체 평균이 43.22$\pm$4.04로서 비교적 양호하였다. 식품별 구매빈도를 보면 1주에 1회 이상으로 나타난 것은 우유, 과자류, 빙과류, 라면, 주스 및 껌의 순 이었고, 햄버거, 피자, 호떡은 한 달에 1회 또는 그 이하로서 가장 낮았다. 과자, 라면, 빙과류의 구매빈도는 가정수입과 아버지와 어머니의 교육수준과 음의 상관 관계를, 학생의 월 용돈, TV 시청시간 및 간식섭취 빈도가 높을수록 와는 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 라면과 탄산음료는 부모의 영양지식이나 식 태도와 음의 상관관계를 나타냈고, 햄버거 구매빈도는 가정수입과 아버지와 어머니의 교육수준이 높을수록 잦았다. 학생의 간식빈도가 높을수록 우유섭취빈도는 낮았으며, 과자, 빙과, 사탕, 닭 꼬치, 감자튀김, 돈까스, 튀김의 구매빈도가 증가하여 간식내용이 영양적으로 양호하지 않음을 알 수 있다. 또한 TV 시청시간이 길수록 간식빈도와 유사한 구매 양상을 나타냈다. PC이용시간이 길수록 과자와 빵의 구매빈도가 낮아지고 껌의 구매빈도가 높아져 흥미롭다. 결론적으로 조사대상 초등학생은 간식 구매시 영양가보다는 맛을 중요시하며, 우유를 제외하면 주로 탄수화물과 당류식품의 구매빈도가 높다. 또한 가정 소득, 부모 교육수준과 영양지식, TV시청시간, 학생의 간식 비와 간식빈도 등 환경요인들이 식품구매에 영향을 주었다. 따라서 영양사를 중심으로 간식 선택의 중요성과 식품 구매 원칙에 대한 체계적인 영양교육을 학생과 아울러 학부모에게도 실시하여 초등학생의 바른 간식 구매능력을 향상시켜야 할 것이다.
