A Study on the Evaluation and Improvement of Reading Culture Promotion Programs (독서문화진흥사업 평가 및 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • "Reading Culture Promotion Act" was enacted in 2006. National policies for promoting reading culture such as "Reading Culture Promotion Basic Plan (2014-2018)" were established and are being implemented. However, due to the absence of the system which evaluates the performance of the reading culture promotion policies and programs, it is difficult to systematically implement reading programs. In consideration of this situation, this study purposed to evaluate the reading culture promotion programs. For this purpose, it developed the evaluation tool for reading promotion programs and evaluated it. On the basis of the evaluation results, the study identified the problem of the policies and programs and provided the strategies for improving them. In addition, it proposed the direction of the reading culture promotion policies for expanding the reading culture.

A Study on the Tacit Knowledge of Attitude toward Reading (독서태도에 관한 암묵적 지식 연구 사서교사와 초등교사 및 초등학생의 인식 조사를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain basic information and suggestions needed to measure reading attitude by obtaining the tacit knowledge. For this, a semi-structured interviews were carried out with teacher librarians and elementary school teachers and elementary students in five elementary schools. The results were as follows: Students and Teachers divided standard and attribute for assessing reading attitudes as student's ability, personality and behavioral aspects towards reading. Students were aware of the necessity of reading and accepted a pleasant feeling of reading. However, group of students with low reading skill recognized reading as an academic purpose as compared to other student groups and expressed a negative feeling on reading. Peers, teachers and family members were recognized as figures who make an impact on reading by students and further considered the subject, content and physical attribute of book as important factors. Teachers recognized reading attitude as a concept on attitude about book and book reading. Further they mentioned reading environment, interests, habits, books, and experience as factors affect reading attitude.

A Study on Factors Influencing Adolescents' Sustainable Reading Attitude: Focusing on Middle School Students (청소년의 지속적 독서태도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 중학교 학생을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify factors to the sustainable reading attitude for making suggestion of the measures in reading education to strengthen the sustainable reading attitude. First of all, a set of in-depth interviews as a pilot was conducted with middle school students to search the factors, then a questionnaire was developed based on the pilot and existing research reports to survey middle school students in Seoul metropolitan area. The results from the analysis of the survey data showed that environmental factors in the schools, individual characteristics, such as grade and gender, interests, and perceptions of reading education significantly influenced the sustainable reading attitude, statistically. This study has implications to suggest the practical direction of desirable reading education to strengthen the sustainable reading attitude.

A Study on the Effects of Reading Education on Situational Interest and Motivation for Reading: Focusing on the 5th and 6th Graders of Korean Elementary School (독서교육이 독서에 대한 상황적 흥미와 동기에 미치는 영향 연구: 초등학교 5, 6학년을 중심으로)

  • Elementary school is a critical period for the students to form a reading habit. So it is necessary to consider the ways of reading education that can promote the student's reading motivation. This study explores the effective applications of reading education in the school by testing the relationship among reading education, student's situational interest, and intrinsic motivation. To this end, this study executed several in-depth interveiws as a pilot and a questionnaire survey with 5th and 6th graders in elementary schools. The survey results were statistically analyzed. As a result, teacher's reading instruction had the most positive effect on the situational interest, and situational interest had the greatest mediating effect in the relationship between teacher's reading instruction and the students' intrinsic reading motivation. Based on the result, improvements in reading education were suggested for the students to form a good reading habit.

  • The purpose of this paper is to make understanding on the influence of school librarian on students' reading behavior. The Writer has collected and analysed data from 2,865 students in Daegu Metropolitan City according to statistical method and process. In conclusion, the writer proved school librarian give much developmental influence on students' reading behavior.

  • 초등학교 학생들의 독서능력과 수준을 고려한 독서교육을 위해 본 연구진이 선행연구로 개발한 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 수준별 독서지원 시스템에서는 학생들의 독서능력을 진단할 수 있는 진단지, 독서능력에 알맞은 도서 및 독서방법 안내, 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 다양한 감상표현활동 등을 개발하였다[4]. 그러나 독서교육 방법과 도서는 수준별로 제시하여 주었으나 독후 활동은 수준에 관계없이 동일한 활동을 제시함으로써 수준에 알맞은 독후 활동의 어려움이 제기되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 제7차 초등학교 국어과 하위목표와 교육부 ICT 기준안을 고려하여 독서에 흥미를 가질 수 있도록 학생들의 독서능력에 알맞은 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 수준별 독후활동을 개발하고자 하였다.

A Study on the Development of Web-based Measurement System for Reading Readiness (웹 기반 독서 준비성 측정 시스템 개발 연구)

  • In this study, the factors of reading readiness were investigated theoretically and the web-based measurement systems for reading readiness that were developed and operated by the experts or the commercial vendors were examined. On the basis of the results examined, the web-based comprehensive measurement system for reading readiness was proposed. It‘s expected that this study will give libraries with such systems a chance to evaluate their systems and will do much for libraries’ ability to plan their desired system.

  • The purpose of this study is to present an activation model of the culture program and reading activity at public libraries in Seoul City. For this purpose it is to review theoretical basis on public library culture program and reading activity, and to analyze the present status of them and then to introduce the case of Nowon Children's Library Culture Program and Reading Activity as a form of the characteristic program of public library supporting the culture and reading activities in Seoul City.

학술세미나 - 제61회 출판포럼 - 2012년 '독서의 해' 맞아 출판계 과제 논의

  • 대한출판문화협회(회장 윤형두)와 한국출판연구소(이사장 김종수)는 구랍 8일 제61회 출판포럼을 개최했다. 이번 포럼은 2012년을 '독서의 해'로 선포한데 따라 이에 걸맞는 준비를 하고자 하는 취지로 준비 되었으며 이날 사회를 맡은 한국출판연구소 김종수 이사장은 "범사회적으로 책 읽는 분위기가 뿌리내리도록 하고 독서문화의 외연을 넓히는 소중한 기회로 삼아야 할 것"이며 "지난 1993년 '책의 해'를 통해 처음으로 출판포럼이 시작한 이래 횟수로는 61회째를 맞이한 만큼 출판계가 다시 한 번 심기일전하여 출판의 텃밭을 일구어 나가야 할 것"이라고 말했다. 이날 행사는 '독서문화 진흥을 위한 출판계의 과제'를 주제로 한윤옥 교수(경기대 문헌정보학과)가 주제발표를 했으며 이어진 토론 시간에는 대한출판문화협회 박익순 사무국장이 '독서의 해와 출판계의 과제', 한국출판인회의 김종길 독서진흥위원장이 '2012 독서의 해에 바란다', 책 읽는 사회 만들기 국민운동 안찬수 사무처장이 '독서의 해 추진과 출판계의 대응을 위한 제언', 문화체육관광부 도서관정책과 하재열 사무관이 '도서관과독서, 창의와 상상력 발전소'를 주제로 각각 발표와 토론을 진행했다. 이날 주제발표를 요약, 정리한다.
