This study is trying to propose an academic system of science of reading through analysing this area in United States as well as Japan and the it's curriculums of departments and majors of the undergraduate and graduate schools in Korea. In the case of United States, it is divided into sociology, physiology, psychology and pedagogy of reading. Japan's research area of Science of Reading is divided into sociology, physiology, psychology and pedagogy of reading under the influence of the United States. However, Murofushi Takeshi(室伏武) divides this area into 5 categories of curriculum such as basic research field, reading material field, reading education method field, reading education management field, and adjacent fields to science of reading. According to the result of comparing the it's courses in Korea, it's areas are divided into sociology, psychology, pedagogy of reading, science of reading materials and adjacent fields to science of reading. Based on the above contents, a new academic system of science of reading can be divided into basics of science of reading, readers field, reading material field, reading professionals' education field, and adjacent fields to science of reading.

This study investigated an actual condition of students' reading through the survey from 1,285 students in Jeollabuk-do and analysed the casual relationships which affect students' reading ability. 4 variables selected in this study are students' reading ability, reading environment, reading education and reading experiences. The results are as follow: the level of students' reading experience which means the number of books they read and time they consumed for reading is very low compared to the other variables. The reading level of elementary students is revealed higher than that of middle and high school students. The relationships among variables found out through the analysis are that reading education is influenced by reading environment, reading experience is affected by reading education and eventually reading ability is mainly affected by students' reading experience. Through these findings, this study proposed that expansion of students' reading experience and systematization of reading education are needed to strengthen their reading ability effectively.

This research purpose to investigate aspect of reading movement and readers' interest in the period of 2000's, This is succession research that is the Japanese Occupation Period, after release, the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s. Through such series, namly, reading phenomenon analyzing comparison, is to find present address of reading popularization movement and reading education. In main discourse, First, investigated reading movement, in the period of 2000's(1. the reading movement of library and public institution, 2. the reading movement of bookstore and medium, and several organization's, 3. student reading movement and school reading education). Second, readers' interest observed in the period of 2000's.(1. ordinary readers' interest, 2. student readers' interest). If we correct judgment about reading phenomenon from now. It will be foundation that unfold reading education more effectively.

The reading camp program for mutual reading activities between reader`s advisers and readers which has been played four times in 2000 shows the reaction to reading activities among them as follows. $\circled1$ All of reader`s advisers and readers took an active part in the reading camp program and reader's advisers were more active. $\circled2$ All of participants of the reading camp was satisfied by all of the reading program and especially leaders were affected by daily life of reader`s advisers. $\circled3$ All of participants had an opportunity of reflections on his reading activities and leader`s advisers established their sense of life and sense of values in more affirmative. The reading camp program helped participant to enhance his reading life very much and yet reader`s advisers acquired something more than readers did especially.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between reading attitude, reading amount, and personality type of college students, and to prepare a plan to improve the reading rate. As a result of the study, Reading attitudes have been shown to affect reading volume, paper book reading amount, personal reading amount, and e-book reading amount. In the personality type, openness has had a positive impact on reading and reading attitudes. On the other hand, the attention was negatively affecting the reading amount and the reading attitude, except for the amount of e-book reading. The implications derived from this are as follows. First, college students need a library environment and a library environment that can read books that can read books. Second, in order to increase the reading amount of extraversion, it is necessary to conduct dynamic reading activities in the center of the activity and conduct a local reading club activity linked to community activities.

Reading is a typical representative knowledge and information activities. It is a put of the presents man and by itself Read-learning is the cognitive and social activities of the creating platonic world. However, in the education training of students become a visible problems of read-learning too many. To solve the problems have to pull off a systematical plan in read activities. Recently a reading education system has been developed to manage the accumulated reading activities and past records of individuals under the web environment using computers. And the reading education system, where we can have comprehensive reading education, has been developed and been applied to schools. The reading records in the reading education system can contribute to the improvement of reading activities and reading comprehension, the extension of thinking ability, and the cultivation of insight and character of the readers. The system will provide basic data for reading education for the teachers. The reading education system will accumulate the reading records of individuals. This system is not restricted by time and space. Also the system can support the reading education of children and students effectively. The menu of the reading education system is composed of a test of reading level, reading materials, activities after reading, reading certification, reading record management and instruction of teachers.

In an attempt to promote reading among middle school students which has been declining sharply, this study suggests new directions for reading education in school libraries. The study examined the following: correlation between students' attitudes toward reading and their reading achievements as revealed in PISA 2009, nationwide survey results on reading, and studies on attitudes and motives for reading. Korean students' reading achievement is very high among the OECD countries but their reading attitude is not positive enough. The strong positive relationship between pleasure reading and reading achievement indicates the importance of the provision of ample collections at school libraries as well as library programs fostering independent, free-will reading. Reading programs at school libraries should cater to students' individual characteristics and needs, such as their sex, abilities, affective and cognitive attitudes, experiences, as well as the quantity, the formats, and the time of their reading, etc.
