Planar Square-spiral Antenna using a strip conductor (도체스트립을 이용한 평판사각 스파이럴 안테나)

  • Planar square-spiral antenna using a strip conductor is proposed and analyzed for RFID system in UHF band operating from 860MHz to 960MHz. By varying the length of common line, detached distance, strip line-space, strip line-width and the number of spiral turn, the optimized antenna are designed and fabricated in compact size without a matching-stub between the input port of the proposed antenna and RFID tag chip. From the optimized results, the frequency bandwidth in VSWR<2 has covered 100MHz in the RFID UHF band. The antenna gain has obtained 3.5dBi at the center frequency of 910MHz and the desired beam pattern has shown directional pattern on elevation and azimuth angle. Therefore, the proposed antenna is suitable for practical RFID applications requiring various tag chips with the specific input impedance.

  • Combline 구조를 가진 마이크로 스트립 라인 또는 스트립 라인 필터를 내장한 기능형 PCB를 제작하였다. 저 비용 구현 및 이동성과 휴대성을 강조하기 위해 기존의 세라믹 대신 FR4와 에폭시를 유전체로 사용하는 저가형 다층 회로 기판의 도체 층에 집적화 하였다. Combline의 각 끝단에 커패시터를 부하함으로써 전기적 길이를 확장하였고 전체적인 크기를 감소시킴으로서 적당한 필터 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 구현된 Embedded PCB는 마이크로파 대역에서 사용 가능하며 특히 Bluetooth 나 Wireless LAN과 같은 ISM 대역을 사용하는 무선통신소자로서 사용 가능하다.

Characteristic Analysis of the Asymmetric Coupled microstrip Lines with finite Metalization Thickness in the Multilayered Structure (다층구조에서 도체 두께를 고려한 비대칭 결합선로의 특성해석)

  • In this paper, the characteristics of the asymmetric coupled microstrip(ACM) lines with finite metalization thickness are investigated using the quasi-static analysis in the multilayered structure. By mode-matching method as the quasi-static analysis. the characteristic impedances and effective dielectric constants in ACM lines are obtained as a function of metalization thickness. The numerical results show that the propagation characteristics of ACM lines in the single and multilayered structure will be changed by the variation of metalization thickness.

  • In this paper, a broadband inset-fed microstrip patch antenna operating at 10.525 GHz band was proposed. The proposed broadband inset-fed microstrip patch antenna consists of three narrow rectangular patches. At the center of the center patch, two symmetrical side patches were connected by a strip conductor and were arranged with their centers shifted in a perpendicular direction with respect to the center patch. For performance comparison, a conventional inset-fed square microstrip patch antenna was designed. Experiment results show that the frequency band of the measured input reflection coefficient with a voltage standing wave ratio less than 2 for the broadband inset-fed microstrip patch antenna was 10.036-11.051 GHz (9.63%), whereas that for the conventional inset-fed rectangular microstrip patch antenna was 10.306-10.772 GHz (4.42%). Therefore, the input reflection coefficient frequency bandwidth of the fabricated broadband inset-fed microstrip patch antenna was increased by 2.18 times, compared to the conventional inset-fed square microstrip patch antenna.

  • The resonance frequency of the slot-line resonator in the shielding box is analyzed. It is verified experimentally that an X-Band oscillator may be realized by the resonator in the microstrip circuit mount as a shielding cavity, and by shunt-connecting the IMPACT diode on the slot-line, And the oscillating power can be coupled with the microstrip by the coupling aperure on the opposite surface of the microstrip by the coupling aperure on the opposite of the substrate of the microstrip cirsuit.

  • In this paper, we propose a microstrip line tunable phase shifter. If we vary the applied bias voltage, the relative dielectric constant of ferroelectrics also changes and we designed tunable phase shifter using Au/BSTO/MgO/Au structure. We also used a coupling structure to increase the amount of phase shift at certain frequency in a limited size and we could reduce the loss by reducing the line width.

  • A wearable antenna made using conductive tape on paper is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna is composed of a half-wavelength conducting dipole strip and a parasitic conducting strip on the A4 copy paper. The antenna is fed at the center of the dipole strip by an SMA connector. The configuration of the proposed antenna changes according to the origami method. Therefore the radiation patterns of the antenna vary according to whether or not the paper is folded. This approach solves the problem that the reception ratio of the signal decreases because of null points in the antenna radiation pattern. The reflection coefficient and the radiation pattern of the proposed antenna at 900 MHz are evaluated using an EM simulation and measurements. It was shown that the proposed paper antenna has reconfigurable characteristics at 900 MHz when utilizing the origami method.

  • In this paper, Stack structure patch antenna has been designed and fabricated for wireless LAN applications. The patch and ground plane were used by PEC metal. It was 0.05 [mm] thick. In order to broaden the bandwidth of the antenna and improve of gain, the stack structured antenna with probe feed. The measured input return loss showed less than -10 [dB] at the broadband from 5100 to 6140 [MHz]. It's measured bandwidth was 1040 MHz. The gain of antenna in the E-plane and H-plane was 13 dBi and 3 dB beam width was $40^{\circ}$.

  • In this paper, the TM (Transverse Magnetic) scattering problems by a perfectly conducting strip grating over a grounded two dielectric layers with edge boundary condition are analyzed by applying the FGMM (Fourier Galerkin Moment Method). For the TM scattering problem, the induced surface current density is expected to the very high value at both edges of the strip, then the induced surface current density on the conductive strip is expanded in a series of the multiplication of the Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind and the functions of appropriate edge boundary condition. Generally, when the value of the relative permittivity of dielectric layers over the ground plane increased, the strip width according to the sharp variation points of the reflected power is shifted to a higher value. The numerical results shown the fast convergent solution and good agreement compared to those of the existing papers.
