The Effect of Peer Mentoring Activity on Academic Achievement and Views on Nature of Science (또래도우미 활동이 학업성취도 및 과학에 대한 인식에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of peer mentor on academic achievement of mentee and views on nature of science. The experimental group was consisted of 20 mentor students, formed as a high level being less than 20% of achievement test, and 20 mentee, low level less than 15% of that. The mentoring activities were conducted 23 times for 8 weeks and progressed for 15~30 minutes after the teacher's main classes. During the mentoring activity, studying materials were provided to students and mentees asked to mentors for the parts which were difficult to understand among the contents of classes and got replies by arranging studying materials. As the results of this study, First, peer mentoring activity was shown statistically meaningful effects and improved the academic achievement in mentee's group than traditional classes (p<.01). But, there was no meaningful effects on mentor's achievement (p>.05). Second, the students who took part in the peer mentoring activity said that it was a good chance to have a close relationship between mentors and mentees. Also, the science recognition of the students were changed positively even though the science is hard and difficult to memorize, but interesting subject included the experiments. Third, the satisfaction of the peer mentoring activity is high both mentors and mentees (p<.01). Fourth, according to mentees' positive attitude, and as the level of closeness is higher, the academic achievement was increased. Based on this study, if teachers organize mentoring team effectively according to their closeness, one can expect the positive change of recognition on science as well as academic achievement of mentees.

  • This study is a qualitative research to find out the experiences of the students who are helping students with disabilities in S University in Busan and the perceptions of their role as assistants. 12 student participants were divided into three groups, and group focus interviews were conducted. Four improvement points (systematizing selection, monitoring expenses, and strengthening education system) were derived for the support system for students with disabilities, and based on these four concepts, 10 categories were deduced. From the results, we suggested the improvement plan of the project to support college students with disabilities.

Effects of Job Satisfaction on Self-Efficacy: Mediation by Disability Acceptance among Public Assistants with Disabilities (장애인행정도우미의 직무만족에 대한 자기효능감의 영향: 장애수용의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 장애인행정도우미가 지각하는 직무만족에 대한 자기효능감의 영향을 장애수용정도가 매개하는지를 실증적으로 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 수도권 주민센터 253개소의 장애인행정도우미 253명을 대상으로 조사하였으며, 수집된 자료에 대하여 구조방정식을 이용하여 자기효능감, 장애수용, 그리고 직무만족 간의 관계를 확인하였다. 분석 결과, 장애인행정도우미가 지각하는 자기효능감은 장애수용에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치며, 장애수용은 직무만족에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 반면, 자기효능감은 직무만족에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되어 장애수용이 자기효능감과 직무만족 간의 관계를 완전매개하는 것으로 검증되었으며, 이러한 매개효과는 통계적으로도 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 결과에 근거하여 장애인행정도우미의 직무만족도를 향상시킬 수 있는 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

  • 인터넷이 급속도로 성장함에 따라 웹사이트의 숫자도 늘어나고, 많은 정보들이 등록되었다. 웹사이트들은 사용자의 정보획득을 위해 다양한 하이퍼링크를 제공하고, 전문(full-text) 검색엔진을 도입하기도 하나, 웹사이트에 등록되는 정보의 양이 많아지면서 전문검색엔진의 유용성이 점점 줄어들고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 사용자가 좀 더 친근하고 빠른 방법으로 웹사이트에 있는 정보를 습득할 수 있도록 하는 대화형 도우미에이전트를 제안한다. 즉, 사용자가 일상적으로 사용하는 자연어로 된 문장을 웹사이트 내의 도우미 에이전트와 주고받음으로써, 사용자가 원하는 정보를 얻을 수 있도록 한다. 도우미에이전트의 지식을 패턴-답변형태로 저장하고, 순차적 패턴매칭 기법을 이용하여 사용자가 원하는 대화를 이끌어낸다.

The Effects of the Hospice & Palliative Care Education Program for Caregivers (호스피스 완화의료 도우미 교육 프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify how an education program on palliative care affects nursing home caregivers' perception of hospice care and attitude towards terminally ill patient care. Methods: This study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design. The participants were 101 certified care workers: 58 in the experimental group and 43 in the control. The experimental group completed the palliative care education program consisted of 20 hours of classroom training and 20 hours of clinical practicum. An ANCOVA was performed to compare the score changes to outcome variables. Results: Compared with the control group, the experimental group showed significant pretest-posttest differences in both the perception of hospice care (F=21.09, P<0.001) and attitude towards caring for terminally ill patients (F=13.28, P<0.001). Conclusion: These results indicate that the palliative care education program for caregivers is effective in preparing participants to provide hospice/palliative care service. Further study is warranted to explore the effects of this program on palliative caregivers' performance.

The Assistant Experiences for Disabled College Students and the Serious Leisure (장애 대학생 도우미 경험과 진지한 여가)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out whether or not the disabled students' assistance could be interpreted as a serious leisure. t is academically worth because this study reviewed if college students voluntarism could be considered a leisure and provided fundamental information about the interaction between the volunteered and the disabled. Voluntarism in the college level, in general, is spontaneous. The volunteered are expected to experience a psychological well-being, and their participation in voluntary activity helps them have a chance to develop socially, emotionally, and psychologically. In addition, as Stebbins(2001) claims, a serious leisure could be kept with one's enjoyment and play a role of leisure. Therefore, this study interviewed 6 college students who played a role of a spontaneous assistant. As results, 103 conceptual terms and 13 sub-categories and 5 higher categories were come out. The volunteered had stress at the early stage and experienced a state of being identified with the disabled. They, however, had an opportunity to foster expertise for volunteering, which contributes to their increased enjoyment and consistent volunteering thereafter. Some, even quitted in the middle, showed effort to find an appropriate substitute. It was revealed through this study that college students' assistance to the disabled has attributes for a serious leisure.

Comparison on How Much Multiple Teaching Assistants affect Students' Study Results and Self-Efficacy (다수의 학습도우미 시범.실습법이 학생의 과제수행능력과 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • Today's elementary schools emphasize practice- and learner-based computer courses. In this research, we found solutions to the above issues by adapting a demonstration/practice teaching method led by multiple teaching assistants, expanding lessons tailored to each student's own level. We chose fourth graders from three classes at Elementary School as the subject for this research. Through this research, we have analyzed the students' study results, self-efficacy, response and interest in the computer courses by examining three groups of students: the first group led by a teacher's demonstration and practice, the second group by a teaching assistant's demonstration and practice, and the last by multiple teaching assistants' demonstration and practice. As a result, we were able to show that a computer course taught by multiple teaching assistants will help not only induce an interest and motive for a mutual learning environment among the students, but also bring positive effects on the study results and self-efficacy.

'Weather Helper' that provides customized information for each weather using open API (오픈 API를 이용한 날씨별 맞춤 정보 제공 날씨도우미)

  • 본 논문에서는 외출 시 날씨 때문에 무엇을 입을지 고민하는 사용자에게 편리함을 제공하고 사용자의 만족도를 높이기 위해 '날씨별 맞춤 정보 제공 날씨도우미'라는 주제로 연구를 진행하였다. 오픈 API를 이용하여 지역별 다양한 날씨 정보를 보여주고 기온별 옷차림과 지역 주변의 맛집을 추천하는 기능을 구현하였다. 날씨 도우미는 단순히 날씨 정보만을 제공하는 것이 아니라 날씨별 적합한 옷차림을 추천해준다. 사용자는 날씨도우미를 통해 외출 시 옷차림을 고르는 데 소요되는 시간을 최소한으로 줄일 수 있고, 옷을 고르면서 발생하는 스트레스를 줄일 수 있다. 또한, 사용자는 오늘의 날씨 정보와 미래의 날씨 예측 정보를 쉽게 확인할 수 있으며, 지역검색을 통해 원하는 지역의 날씨 정보를 손쉽게 확인하고, 해당 지역 주변의 맛집을 추천받을 수 있다.
