An Investigation for Driving Behavior on the Exit-ramp Terminal in Urban Underground Roads Using a Driving Simulator (주행 시뮬레이터를 활용한 도심 지하도로 유출연결로 접속부 주행행태 분석)

  • Even though driving behaviors in underground roads can be significantly different from ground roads, existing underground roads follow the design guidelines of ground roads. In this context, this study investigates the driving behaviors of the exit-ramp terminal of urban underground roads using a driving simulator. Virtual driving experiments were performed by analyzing scenarios between the underground and ground road environments. The experiments' driving behavior data for each geometry section are compared and validated through a statistical significance test. This test showed that the speed in the underground road environment is relatively low, and the LPM tends to move away from the adjacent tunnel wall. Based on these findings, this study suggests implications and feasible solutions for improving driver's safety in the exit-ramp terminal of the underground roads.

  • 본 연구는 갈수록 설 자리를 잃어 가는 지역 상권에 있어서 최근 10년 여 기간 동안 원주시에서 지속적으로 정치${\cdot}$경제적, 사회적 이슈로 제기되어 왔던 문제는 지하상가 상권의 침체와 활성화 문제라 할 수 있다. 원주 지하상가는 정부의 요구에 의하여 민방공 대피시설로 생겼으며, 각종 연구보고서나 학술세미나의 정책주제로 지하상가 도심 활성화 문제가 거론되고 있다. 특히 매번 지방선거에서는 지하상가 상권 활성화를 선거공약으로 제시하지 않은 후보가 없었을 정도였다는 것을 우리는 기억하고 있다. 그만큼 지하상가의 문제가 심각하다는 의미이며, 지하상가의 활성화를 통한 도시개발은 원주시민 공동의 과제라는 점을 이해 할 수 있다. 이와 같은 지역사회의 요청에 따라 그동안 수많은 개선안들이 원주시 차원에서 추진되었다. 지하상가 주변에 특화거리를 지정${\cdot}$조성하는 '특화거리 조성사업'에서부터, 주차문제 해결을 위한 '공영주차장 건설사업', '재래시장 현대화사업', '주거환경개선사업', '하상도로 건설사업', '지하상가 리모델링사업' 등 단기 및 중장기 사업계획이 추진되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 크게 개선되지 못하고 있는 실정이며, 앞으로 계속 우리가 깊은 관심을 갖고 해결해 나가야 할 과제로 남아 있다. 그러나 최근 원일프라자 준공을 전후하여 지하상가는 조금씩 변화의 조짐을 보이고 있으며, 일부에서는 도심이 활성화될 것이라는 성급한 판단을 내리기도 한다. 원주시는 미약하나마 인구가 증가하는 추세이며, 전반적으로 도심이 침체의 늪에서 벗어나고 있는 인상을 주고 있기 때문이다. 그러나 이러한 변화가 과연 도심이 활성화되고 있는 징후로 볼 것인가? 특히 이러한 변화의 조짐이 원일프라자의 준공과 직접적인 관련성을 갖고 있는가? 몇가지 변화의 사례를 가지고 간단하게 판단할 수는 없다. 그러나 원일프라자의 준공은 도심지역의 개발${\cdot}$정비를 예정하고 있으며, 장기적으로는 도심 활성화의 중요한 동인이 될 수 있음을 부인할 수 없다. 따라서 본 발제에서는 이와 같은 상황적 변화를 전제로 하여 지하상가 리모델링을 통한 도심활성화와 선진사례를 받아들임으로 지역상권 활성화 방향으로 전환하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The domestic road space is reaching the limit of planar space distribution, and Increasingly, the importance of three-dimensional space distribution through the development of underground space. therefore, In this study, a study was conducted on a traffic control method that can safely induce two different traffic flows in the connection between the ground road and the underground road. Through VISSIM, we calculated the appropriate amount of outflow and inflow traffic compared to the capacity of the main line when there is a Merge/Diverge section in the underground road. and Through the analysis of the number of conflicts, the appropriate traffic control level for safety in the underground, A basic study was conducted on the level of risk in the underpass according to the level of delay in the ground part through the analysis of the delay scenario of the ground road.

  • The west underground express way is a recent initiated BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) project for releasing heavy traffic of the existing west express way which is notorious on-ground road for extremely traffic stuck area in the west of Seoul, South Korea. The new express way for light vehicles is the first double-deck tunnel ever designed in South Korea and 10.91 km long including both open cut structures and concrete lining with middle-deck in bored tunnel. Because the new express way is going through underground of heavily populated area, mechanical & electrical design for the safety of drivers in tunnel is one of the most important parts among many design issues. This paper discusses M & E design focuses including ventilation-evacuation plan and various safety facilities.

  • Recently many sinkholes have appeared in urban areas of Korea, threatening public safety. To predict the occurrence of sinkholes, it is necessary to investigate the existence of cavity under urban roads. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) has been recognized as an effective means for detecting underground cavity in urban areas. In order to improve the understanding of the governing physical processes associated with GPR wave propagation, and interpret underground cavity effectively, a theoretical approach using numerical modeling is required. We have developed an algorithm employing a three-dimensional (3D) staggered-grid finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. This approach allows us to model the full electromagnetic wavefield associated with GPR surveys. We examined the GPR response for a simple cavity model, and the modeling results showed that our 3D FDTD modeling algorithm is useful to assess the underground cavity under urban roads.

  • The urban center of a large city has a high concentration ratio of population, commerce, and traffic. Therefore, the expected effect is high from the introduction of the urban utility tunnel and it also has sufficient economic feasibility considering life cycle cost. Moreover, the construction cost can be greatly reduced if it is included in a large underground development such as a subway or a complex transfer center construction. However, it is not reflected in actual underground development plan. When planning a urban utility tunnel in Korea, it is expected to have difficulties such as the cost of relocation of the existing Life-Line, conflicts among the individual facility institutions, procurement of construction resources and sharing. Furthermore, it is possible to promote the project only if a consensus is drawn up by a collective council composed of all facilities and project developers. Therefore, an optimal alternative should be proposed using economic analysis and feasibility assessment system. In this study, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is performed considering the characteristics of urban areas and the importance of each indicator is quantified. As a result, we can support reasonable design capacity optimization using the feasibility assessment system.

Correlation Analysis of the Occurrence of Ground Subsidence According to the Density of Underground Pipelines (지중관로 매설 밀집도에 따른 지반함몰 발생 상관 분석)

  • Recently, ground subsidence has been steadily occurring mainly in downtown areas, threatening the safety of citizens. Under the road, various underground facilities such as water supply pipe, sewage pipe, and communication pipe are buried. Due to the aging of these underground facilities and the reckless development of the underground, it is acting as a cause of ground subsidence. Although there is a result of analyzing the risk of ground subsidence according to the deterioration of the existing pipeline, there is no result of analyzing the risk of ground subsidence using the density of pipelines indicating ground disturbance. Therefore, in this study, the density of the underground space was analyzed using the data of six types of representative underground pipelines in Seoul, and a study was conducted on whether there is a correlation with the ground subsidence. As a result, it was found that the density of underground facilities is high in the area where the ground subsidence occurred, indicating that the density of pipelines have an effect on the ground subsidence.

  • Urban roads are not only congested with vehicles and pedestrians, but also have many pipelines buried to provide convenience for inhabitants. In addition, urban inhabitants live comfortably in buildings adjacent to the road for residence, business, commerce, rest and so on. Therefore, despite the high cost of land, urban underground buildings with high land use efficiency are constantly being built. Recently, the construction of underground buildings has caused social problems such as the collapse of surrounding roads and adjacent buildings. Institutional improvement is being actively carried out to improve this. In this study, a new type of MSRC diaphragm wall was developed and a study on the construction method of underground building was carried out. It is intended to secure the underground excavation safety of underground buildings in urban areas and effectively prevent land subsidence complaints. Also, a reasonable design method of MSRC diaphragm walls using the ultimate strength design method is presented through the flexural performance Experiment.

Analysis on the Influence and Reinforcement Effect of Adjacent Pier Structures according to the Underpass Construction (지하차도 시공에 따른 인접 교각구조물 영향 및 보강효과 분석)

  • In order to solve the serious traffic congestion in seoul metropolitan city, large-scale underground space development such as underpasses, deep underground roads, and GTX (Great Train eXpress) is being carried out. In order to minimize the impact of the adjacent seoul metro line A pier foundation and stability due to the construction of the underground road in Seoul, earth retaining structures were reinforced and the foundation was reinforced as well. In this study, three-dimensional finite element mehtod analysis was performed to evaluate the effect on adjacent construction and to review the stability of the underpass excavation work. The reinforcement effect was quantitatively analyzed through numerical analysis. As a result of the analysis, compared to the result of performing the existing reinforcement when overlapping CIP and ground reinforcement grouting were performed, the displacement of the earth retaining structures was reduced by more than 50%, and stress of the foundation piles were also reduced by more than 45%. Based on the analysis of the numerical analysis results, it was confirmed that the displacement of the walls of earth retaining structures during adjacent construction should be strictly controlled.
