This research deals with the study of the Arlington Public Library and present situations of public libraries providing Korean language materials services in the United States. The focus of this research is on aspects of the Arlington Public Library, Texas : collecting, classifying, Possessing. circulating, and managing the Korean language materials. In addition, this research includes the description of the current trends of Korean language services in public libraries around the US with literature review methods. This research would be a useful steppingstone when libraries in other countries begin services with Korean language materials, or when public libraries in Korea begin to provide foreign language services.

물 수요 및 공급 체계를 바탕으로 수급 상황에 대한 판단을 위해 일반적으로 물수지 분석을 이용하고 있다. 물 수급 체계를 기반으로 하는 물수지 분석은 분석 대상유역의 물 수요를 고려하여 공급 가능량을 판단한 후 두 가지 인자 간 상호 비교를 통해 물 부족 여부를 판단하는 과정이라 할 수 있으며, 가장 대표적인 사례는 수자원장기종합계획에서의 물 수급 전망 분석 과정이라 할 수 있다. 수자원장기종합계획의 물 수급 전망에서는 미래 우리나라에서 예상되는 물 수요를 예측하고 수문조건에 따른 공급 상황과의 비교 검토를 통해 시공간적 물 부족 현황을 제시하고 있다. 수자원장기종합계획에서는 공급량 조건을 검토하기 위한 방법으로 기상청, 국토해양부, 한국수자원공사 등 다양한 기관에서 관측된 강우자료를 강우-유출모형에 적용한 후 산정된 자연유출량을 기반으로 물수지 분석을 수행하고 있다. 수자원장기종합계획과 같이 미래 우리나라의 물 수급 상황을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 제시된 시공간적 물 부족 정보의 신뢰성을 높이기 위해서는 기본적으로 지역 또는 유역별 강우 발생 특성에 대한 정확한 고려가 기반이 되어야 한다. 그러나 현재 수자원장기종합계획 수립 과정에서 이용하고 있는 강우 관측지점의 공간적 분포를 살펴보면, 도서 및 해안지역의 경우 관측소의 밀도가 상대적으로 매우 빈약한 한계를 포함하고 있으며, 대부분 내륙 지역에 관측소가 집중된 현상을 보이고 있다. 이와 같은 상황에서 강우 관측자료를 이용한 분석을 수행할 경우 도서 및 해안지역에 대한 강우 발생 특성의 정확한 반영이 어려울 수 있으며, 이는 물 부족 분석 결과의 정확도 측면에서도 문제점으로 지적될 수 있다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위한 방안으로 기상청에서 운영 중인 자동기상관측지점(Automated Weather Station, AWS)의 관측자료를 이용하는 방안을 검토해볼 수 있다. AWS 지점은 내륙 및 도서 해안지역에 관계없이 고른 관측소 분포를 보이고 있으므로 이를 고려할 경우 기존 관측지점에서 한계로 지적된 부분을 충분히 극복할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기상청에서 생산되고 있는 AWS 관측자료를 수집한 후 이를 수자원장기종합계획의 물수지 분석과 동일한 분석 과정에 적용하였으며, 그 결과에 대한 검토를 통해 국가 수자원계획의 신뢰도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

This is an exploratory study that examines the publication and use of sex education books for youth and considers their values and applicability to sex education for youth in the future. In-depth interviews were conducted with book editors, sex education experts, and public librarians-those who play important roles in children and young adults' reading of sex education books-and analyzed. According to the research participants, parents and caregivers often rely on sex education books when they find it hard to deliver sex education to their children on their own. Sex education books are also often used by sex education experts in their classes. The research participants said many sex education books that were published in South Korea only focus on 'the body education,' which deals with body changes during puberty. Gender inequality is another subject that needs to be changed. The research participants agreed that a sex education book should not just be a simple medium that delivers fragments of knowledge on sexuality but a broader learning playground where children and young adults can learn independent perspectives on sexuality based on comprehensive views on life. This study suggests a guideline for sexuality education books, which will be useful for library collection development.

To date, large print books have been published in Korea only for partially-sighted persons. However, as a recent explanation in the Reading Culture Promotion Act indicates, people who cannot use reading materials due to old age are now also considered to be reading-handicapped. This study is aimed at investigating the proper characteristics for the improvement of print publication for elderly people using data from a survey of 80 elderly persons. This study identified elderly people's preferences on the major characteristics of large format books such as font style, character size, line width, and page layout, derived from both quantitative and quantitative research methods.

자료실 천정까지 쌓여 있는 만화책 덩어리들이 금방이라도 쏟아질 것 같은데, 회원들이 무심히 그 밑 탁자에 앉아 회의를 하고 서가의 자료를 뽑아 공부하기도 한다. 중진작가들이 소장도서를 아낌없이 내놓으며 모은 자료가 7천여권 남짓, 우리나라 만화역사에 밑그림이 되는 진귀한 자료들이다.

'The Library and Information Science' originated from the 'Library Science'. A school of academic reputation of the West is calling nm of studies by the name of 'Library, Archives, and Information Science' and studying materials, knowledge and information of the library, archives, and information centers. I think that many of the researcher neglect basic studies of the library and information science. Therefore, I'd like to call attention to the fact.

This study aims to suggest a strategic alliance between libraries and publishers in Korea. When it considers the linear distribution channel of current publications and the entity and a butterfly effect of knowledge communication crisis, the publishers as production agency and the library as consuming subject must search a strategic cooperative plans. In order to achieve this goal, the study analysed the four issues(fixed book prices, library infrastructure, book and library supply policy of government, legal deposit system) which is important.

The purpose of this study was to suggest effective reading guidance using studying cartoons for the reading motivation. We conducted a survey at 3 junior high schools in Chung-Nam province, consisting of 182 students in 6 classes in an attempt to analyze what motivates reading. We propose strategies that can encourage students to read using cartoons, books, and multimedia guides.

The purpose of this study is to analyze high school students' understanding and use of the recommended books lists. The survey distributed to high school students in seven high schools located in Seoul, and 311 students responded. Using SPSS 24, the data was analyzed by frequency, binary logistic model, and one-way ANOVA. Results show the followings. First, the meaningful factors affecting students' use of recommended books lists are gender, grade levels, and the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the books that are suitable and interesting. Particularly, the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the suitable books for them is the strong factor affecting students' use of the recommended books lists. Second, male students are less likely to use recommended books lists than female students. Male students consistently are less likely to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subject teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations. Third, teacher-librarians believed that the recommended books lists would help students who do not enjoy reading and have difficulties in reading. However, the study finds that students who enjoy reading and read well are more willing to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subjects teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations than those who do not. Fourth, students are most willing to use the recommended books lists for college preparation. The findings suggest the further research topics in designing the recommended books lists suitable for high school students and in scaffolding the high school students' use of book information reflected in recommended books lists.

우리 협회에서 간행된 한국목록규칙 3판(KCR3)은 국내의 기술목록수준을 국제적인 수준으로 한 단계 진전시키는 중요한 계기가 되었다고 자부합니다. 그 근거로 국제서지기술법(ISBD)을 수용하여 서지기술단위저록방식을 규정함으로써, 기술만으로 완전한 저록을 구성할 수 있게 되었으며, 특히 우리의 언어나 사고과정에 기초한 한국적 특수성을 목록규칙에 반영할 수 있었다는 점을 들 수 있습니다. 그러나 종래 KCR3은 단행본 중심의 목록규칙이라는 한계가 있었고, 따라서 연속간행물과 기타 비도서자료에 대한 기술규칙의 제정이 요구되어 왔습니다. 각종 비도서잘(비책자자료)와 네트워크자원이 대량으로 간행되는 시점에서 이들 다양한 유형의 자료를 목록에서 수용할 수 있는 통합된 목록규칙이 요구되고 있는 실정임에도 불구하고, 규칙제정에 소요되는 시간과 인력을 고려하여 우선 일차로 연속간행물용 목록규칙(안)을 내어 놓게 된 것입니다. 이 목록규칙(안)은 그 동안 2년여에 걸쳐 우리 협회 목록위원회를 중심으로 회의와 토록과정을 거친 것으로 도서관계에 종사하시는 사서 여러분의 의견을 수용하고자 하오니, 애정과 관심으로 검토해 주시고 좋은 의견을 개진해 주시길 간곡히 부탁드립니다. 목록규칙은 바로 우리 도서관인 모두가 다듬고 만들어 가야 할 책무가 있기 때문입니다. 어떤 형태의 의견이나 권고안, 수정안이라도 좋으니 여러분의 많은 관심과 협조를 기대합니다.
