There has been research to understand users' information behaviors using book circulation data of public libraries. In this study, we examined the subject areas of books simultaneously borrowed by users of public libraries and aimed to identify the relationships among the subject areas. To accomplish this, we utilized the Korean Decimal Classification codes of 984,790 loaned books in 2019 to transform the lists of concurrently borrowed books, totaling 22,443,699 records, by the same users on the same day, into vectors using the ITEM2VEC technique. Next, we extracted ten highly related classification codes for each classification code, utilizing a total of 522 classification codes to create a network. We identified 15 communities within this network and examined the characteristics of each community. Among the 15 communities, those consisting of two or more main classes allowed us to identify meaningful thematic associations. This study, grounded in users' book usage behaviors, has suggested the topics of books that could be borrowed together. The findings offer valuable insights for library collection development and placement, recommending related subject materials, and revising classification systems.

This study investigates the general problems in classifying materials by and related to Shakespeare in the university libraries and suggests a new analytico-synthetic system based on the analysis on the related classes on the major classification systems including DDC, LCC, CC, etc. and other studies and hompages In the area or Shakespeare study. New system consists of four facets, and Its facet formula is “generalities + form ＋ works + language,” each of which includes Its own foci.

Time(Period table) is the chronological factor in a subject. Classification schemes are using the period tables for represent the time. CC and UDC's common auxiliary of time tables are consistence and clear. DDC and KDC are using the different way, though the notation is complicated.

The purposes of this study are to examine how food and culture and Korean foods are reflected in the classification systems and to propose improvements of DDC to classify various subjects related to the materials of food and culture. For the study, six classification systems - DDC(Dewey Decimal Classification), UDC(Universal Decimal Classification), LCC(Library of Congress Classification), KDC(Korean Decimal Classification), NDC (Nippon Decimal Classification), China Library Classification - were analyzed in aspects of eating and drinking customs, eating etiquette, nutrition and diet, food and drink, meal and table service, beverage technology, and food technology. As a result, there were few headings about Korean food in six classification systems and it was necessary for DDC to have new headings for classifying Korean and Asian traditional foods and table services. Due to the literary warrant in classification systems, it is required to publish and disseminate various Korean food recipes and publications to add new headings or notes in future classification systems.

This study investigated general problems concerning the subject Chemical Engineering in the KDC(Korean Decimal Classification) 4th edition based on the comparative analysis with DDC, NDC, and Disciplinary Classification System of Korean Research Foundation, and suggested on some ideas for the improvements of them. The subject of chemical Engineering in the KDC 4th edition had to be improved to use current terminology, to choose appropriate headings, and to subdivide the subjects more to introduce new topics.

This study presents revision scheme of Korean Decimal Classification appropriate for classification of children-related materials, mainly centered on social science(300) and pure science(400) occupying the majority of children-related materials in school Libraries. Towards this goal, 1 have studied the development and use of classification system for children-related materials available in domestic and overseas school libraries or children's libraries, and researched elementary school 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students' degree of understanding on classification item terms and children-related materials terms used for KDC's social science and Pure science. Based on the results of analysis, f have presented revision scheme of Korean Decimal Classification item terms and class numbers for children-related materials.

This study is intended to present methods improving the classification system of KDC architecture engineering fields after comparing and analyzing the academic system of architecture engineering, classification system of KDC, DDC, and LCC, and that of the research field classification system of National Research Foundation of Korea. The results of the analysis have revealed that it is required to improve and correct the KDC 5th edition of architectural engineering including the addition of classification items that reflect the trend of academic development, proper development in the rank classification terms of architectural structure engineering, addition of detailed subjects, selection of proper classification terms, errors of classification symbols and English expression, and omission of correlative indexes in the classification items. This study has proposed improved methods to solve those problems.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare of the structure of auxiliary schedules using in DDC, UDC, CC and BC. Auxiliary schedule whish are a n.0, ppended to schedule of all schemes of classification. They consist of items of form of presentation relationship, time, place, languages, racial, ethnic, national groups and persons and phase relation and the symbols of the different items can be added to classification numbers.

This study suggests a plan of tables of deference for Korean Decimal Classification, 4th edition, based on the study on those in Dewey Decimal Classification, 21st edition. It suggests two tables for the Auxiliary Tables, one for standard subdivisions and one for subdivisions for literature. Twenty-two tables are suggested for the Schedule of ten main classes.
