The understanding and capability to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) incorporated technology has become a required basic skillset for the people living in today's information age, and various members of the university have also increasingly become aware of the need for AI education. Amidst such shifting societal demands, both domestic and international university libraries have recognized the users' need for educational content centered on AI, but a user-centered service that aims to provide personalized recommendations of digital AI educational content is yet to become available. It is critical while the demand for AI education amongst university students is progressively growing that university libraries acquire a clear understanding of user intention towards an AI educational content recommender system and the potential factors contributing to its success. This study intended to ascertain the factors affecting acceptance of such system, using the Extended Technology Acceptance Model with added variables - innovativeness, self-efficacy, social influence, system quality and task-technology fit - in addition to perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention to use. Quantitative research was conducted via online research surveys for university students, and quantitative research was conducted through written interviews of university librarians. Results show that all groups, regardless of gender, year, or major, have the intention to use the AI-related Educational Content Recommendation System, with the task suitability factor being the most dominant variant to affect use intention. University librarians have also expressed agreement about the necessity of the recommendation system, and presented budget and content quality issues as realistic restrictions of the aforementioned system.

The research investigated definition, scope and feature of digital contents in order to discuss legal protection of digital contents. The protection law and current trend of protection of digital contents in United States of America, EU and Japan were examined. As the law which protects digital contents in Korea. the contents and characteristics, etc. of copyright act of Korea and online digital contents industry development act were examined and analyzed. And then relationship of digital contents and copyright, namely, the relationship of database and copyright, relationship of digital contents by translation. arrangement, alteration, dramatization, cinematization, etc. of an original work and copyright; relationship of other digital contents and copyright; relationship of file sharing of digital contents and copyright, were examined and copyright issues were discussed in library. And also the research suggested concretely necessary countermeasure of copyright which the library must take. Finally, this paper suggested the improvement direction for legal protection of digital contents we must aim ultimately.

The purpose of this study is to portray the current condition of digital reading rooms in public libraries in specific terms of information resource constituencies. With the growth in numbers of public libraries in Korea, emphasis was also put on digital information services using digital reading rooms in public libraries. However, it is also recognized that these digital reading rooms are merely traditional reading rooms with equipment. In this regard, the objective for the study was to identify and describe the types of electronic information resources in order to determine the rationale for the development of digital information resource management in public libraries. The focus was especially put on investigating the quality and the degree of perceived importance of electronic resources. Data for this case study was collected from four relatively big public libraries in three cities. The investigation was conducted by the document reviews and surveys and interviews with librarians and patrons. The study found that digital resource management should be put on a new stage, especially in terms of education and reliable information for the regional community. The study also added some suggestions for the future development and refinement of electronic resource management in public libraries.

한국데이터베이스진흥센터, 한국과학기술정보연구원, 한국도서관협회가 지난달 19일 코엑스에서 공동으로 개최한 제7회 디지털도서관 컨퍼런스가 성황리에 막을 내렸다. ‘디지털 환경에서의 새로운 정보유통 패러다임’이라는 주제로 개최된 이번 행사에는 전국도서관 및 업계 관계자 350여명이 참석, 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

지식의 보고 도서관. 도서관은 출판물로 가득한 창고이다. 그러나 사이버 시대의 도서들은 사상공간에 차곡차곡 쌓이고 있다. 그간 디렉토리만을 실을 수밖에 없는 현실을 벗어나 이제는 도서 전문을 싣는 시대로 바뀐다. 물론 사이버 도서관은 거창한 건물도 필요가 없다. 가상의 세계. 그렇지만 현실의 세계 공간을 차지하고 있지는 않지만 실존하는 세계.미래의 도서관은 3차원의 세계를 뛰어넘고 있다. 더불어 가능한 것과 불가능한것의 한계를 짚어가며 데이터베이스의 새영역을 열어간다.

The objective of this study is to investigate and compare the situation of the informationization of public libraries between 2012 and 2014. Data were collected two times in both 2012 and 2014 using Internet survey. Survey contents were general information situation, softwares, digital service room, RFID, digital contents, mobile service, integrated digital services. Results show that library informationization went for demonstration effect for local residents, staff for library informationization was insufficient, KOLAS was still needed to be upgraded, and most of public libraries were insufficient for future digital services. As improvement plans, there are the development of next generation integrated system, expansion of mobile web and app service, and increasing digital contents. For further study, it provides a study of the use of digital contents and equipment on public libraries.

대학 및 연구소 도서관의 디지틀 도서관 구축작업이 본격화되고 있다. 국내에 디지틀 도서관 구축을 시작한 대학은 현재 두군데 정도지만, 도입을 고려하고 있거나 준비중인 곳을 따져보면 빠른 시간에 확산될 '열린' 시장이다. 디지틀 도서관은 대학 도서관 뿐 아니라 정부출연연구소, 지방자치단체 등에서도 활용가치가 높다. 또 멀티미디어 데이터까지 처리하므로 VOD, AOD 서비스를 할 수 있는 방송국, 박물관 등에서도 디지틀 도서관 구축은 앞으로 필수적이라 볼 수 있다. 이 분야를 집중 공략하고 있는 시스템통합 및 전문업체들의 구축전략 및 기술현황을 살펴본다.

제6회 디지털도서관컨퍼런스 및 전시회가 지난달 9일 전국 도서관 및 업계 관계자 400여명이 참석한 가운데 성황리에 막을 내렸다. 한국데이터베이스진흥센터(KDPC), 한국과학기술정보연구원, 한국도서관협회가 공동으로 주최한 이번 컨퍼런스 및 전시회는‘디지털도서관의 핵심기술과 도전과제’라는 주제로 한국과학기술회관 대강당 및 중강당에서 진행됐다. 특히 이번 행사에는 전국 도서관 관장들이 100명 가까이 참석해 미래 도서관의 모습은 어떠하며, 어떻게 준비해야 하는지에 대해 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

한국데이터베이스진흥센터(KDPC){에서는 유럽의 디지털도서관 구축 현황을 조사하고, 매년 12월 영국 런던에서 개최되는 "Online Information '97" 전시회에 참가하여 선진국들의 정보산업 기술 동향과 선진 데이터베이스 구축 현황을 조사하기 위해 '유럽 디지털 도서관 및 Online Information '97 전시회 참관단'을 파견하였다. 참관단에는 14개 업체에서 데이터베이스 관련 업무에 종사하고 있는 20명의 관련 전문가가 참여하여 1997년 12월 6일부터 12월 14일까지 영국의 De Monfort University 도서관, University of Westminster 도서관, Die Deusche Bibliotek(독일 국립도서관), Bibliotheque Nationale De France(프랑스 국립도서관)을 방문했다.

도서관의 기본적인 목적은 지식의 생산 전달 및 사회에 대한 봉사이다. 도서관은 장서 및 정보봉사를 통해 이러한 목적을 달성하는데 기여하는 것이 필수적인 구성요소이다. 이런 목표를 달성하기 위해 장서의 질을 개선함으로써 이용자서비스의 질을 한층 더 향상시키기 위해 장서폐기가 필요하다. 하지만 현재 우리 도서관계에서는 장서 폐기의 중요성을 어느 정도 인식하고 있지만 회피하는 경향이 있다. 이러한 이유로 각 도서관별 장서의 양에 따라 도서관의 순위를 매기는 정책 요인과 실무 요인, 행정 요인 등이 있다. 결국 장서폐기에 대한 필요성은 인식하고 있지만 쉽게 실천을 못하는 실정이다. 장서폐기는 부족한 서고 공간 문제에 대한 해결책이 될 수 있을 뿐 아니라 장서의 품질관리를 위해서도 필수적인 활동이다. 따라서 장서폐기에 대한 필요성과 그에 따르는 저해요인을 분석함으로써 현실적인 도서관 관리를 재조명하고자 한다.
