With the advent of the digital era, even thought the configuration and the importance of library resources have changed, still only traditional library resources of the past have been used to measure the effectiveness of university libraries. To overcome these limits, this study purposed to redefine the library resources factors for the evaluation of the library effectiveness as appropriate standards in digital library era. The survey method was used, the result follows. Budget, librarians, space, books, periodicals, e-journals, non-book materials, Web DB, e-book, computers are selected as input resources elements, while loan books, users, website visits, web DB uses are selected as output resoures elements. It could be noticeable that the elements related to the electronic resources was reidentified quiet a lot.

디지털 문헌이 증가하고 디지털 도서관이 개발되면서 인터넷 정보자원을 도서관장서의 일환으로 개발, 보존, 이용시키는 문제가 논의되기 시작되었다. 본 연구는 네트워크로 연결되는 인터넷 자원을 도서관의 가상적 장서로 수용하기 위하여 인터넷을 통해 제공되는 정보자원과. 이의 접근과 관련된 문제들을 정의하였다. 그리고 인쇄자료와 비교하여 인터넷상에 유통되는 자원의 형식 등을 비교 분석하여 자료의 신뢰성을 평가하는 요소를 개발하고, 전통적인 장서개발 요소와 비교하여 인터넷 정보자원을 선택하는데 필요한 평가요소를 설정하였다.

The purpose of this study is to portray the current condition of digital reading rooms in public libraries in specific terms of information resource constituencies. With the growth in numbers of public libraries in Korea, emphasis was also put on digital information services using digital reading rooms in public libraries. However, it is also recognized that these digital reading rooms are merely traditional reading rooms with equipment. In this regard, the objective for the study was to identify and describe the types of electronic information resources in order to determine the rationale for the development of digital information resource management in public libraries. The focus was especially put on investigating the quality and the degree of perceived importance of electronic resources. Data for this case study was collected from four relatively big public libraries in three cities. The investigation was conducted by the document reviews and surveys and interviews with librarians and patrons. The study found that digital resource management should be put on a new stage, especially in terms of education and reliable information for the regional community. The study also added some suggestions for the future development and refinement of electronic resource management in public libraries.

This study suggested indispensable elements of metadata for electronic resource management and effectively manage of electronic resource in library. Therefore, this research analyzed into the data elements of DLF ERMI's ERMS data structure, foreign three universities. The Data elements are verified by domestic ERM specialist. As the result, trial categories are 12 elements, consortium categories are 15 elements, license categories are 33 elements, electronic resource information categories are 21 elements, access/administrative information categories are 20 elements, usage statistics categories are 13 elements, workflow categories are 14 elements, contact information categories are 18 elements.

The preservation metadata which is defined the property and history of changes must be describes logically and structurally for implementing long-term digital preservation. The preservation metadata makes the users to access and retrieve authentic digital resources and the managers of digital archives to manage and preserve more effectively the digital resources. his paper is review of recent developments relating to digital preservation metadata including the taxonomy of information object classes of Reference Model of OAIS and outlines some library-based projects. Next, the paper investigates how to develop and use the preservation metadata in university libraries and what is the core preservation metadata elements. Finally, the paper recommends the set of preservation metadata elements with broad applicability to digital preservation in university libraries.

Effective resource management in the digital library should be implemented for the whole accessible sources on the network including multimedia one such as image files other than texts which focus on books. Contents management can be resource management of digital library in terms of wide scope, moreover, it\`s main function is to provide effectively tailor-made knowledge contents for users\` diversified objective of information usage. In this study, I examined main factors for more effective and advanced knowledge management including web resources under the current digital environment. First of all, I described closely several types of conceptualization and trails regarding more effective contents management and came up with advanced user-centered contents management system, i.e., user factors, intermediary factors, and finally service ones.

A collection development policy is the library's master plan that provides library's long/short-term plans. It also informs the community of the library's commitment in collection development. However, in Korea, libraries which maintain such a policy are not yet to be easily found. Furthermore, due to increasing importance of electronic resources, libraries are gradually required to have electronic resource management policy that reflects a change in the information environment. The purpose of this study is to suggest a model electronic resource management policy in academic libraries. It derived and verified more than thirty preliminary elements from literature and case studies. The elements were modified and supplemented, and as a result, the selection criteria gained the highest marks. The findings can be applied for selecting the elements of digital collection development policy in the university library and reorganizing them so as to meet its peculiarities. This study, finally, presents a model that includes a guideline for the university library which will establish digital collection development policy.

도서관 경영은 일반기업의 경영과는 달리 도서관 자체의 특수성을 최대한으로 고려한 관리기술이 필요하다. 또한, 어느 조직이든 인적자원이 중요한 조직의 요소가 되지만, 도서관의 경우 지적인 정보서비스가 이루어지는 곳이므르 특히 인적자원의 중요성이 더 높다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 도서관 직원의 직무만족은 도서관 조직의 목표달성을 위해 매우 중요한 역할을 하며, 직원의 직무만족을 높일 수 있는 리더십인 필요하다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 도서관 직원의 직무만족과 리더십 간의 관계를 규명하므로써, 도서관의 주 목표인 정보제공의 효율성을 달성하는데 기여하고자 한다.

This study aimed to develop an operating manual on the voluntary activity to the library services with disabled people in the public libraries. Various domestic and overseas manuals on the voluntary activity to the library services with disabled people were analyzed. From the survey and expert interviews, five types of most frequently asked library services with disabled people, face-to-face reading, word input services, services to off-library users, mobility aids services and assistance of engineering devices were extraced. Five specific areas on the voluntary activity were chosen in terms of activity area, barrier type, specific activity field, activity purpose and checklist. Finally, contents of the operating manual was applied to the area of face-to-face reading.

This research conducted questionnaire surveys of church library managers and volunteers in church libraries, in order to improve volunteer management in church libraries by the analysis of current situation and problems with regards to operating volunteer activities. Seventy one church library managers out of 101 church libraries, and 221 volunteers responded to the questionnaire. The survey results indicated that volunteers' satisfaction with their work and need for education and continuous motivation Perception gap was found between managers and volunteers on application of task and the reward system Based on the results, this research suggests the ways of improvement for operating and training volunteers in church libraries.
