  • This study aims to identify the current usage patterns of VR content among users and their demands for VR content services in libraries. An online survey was conducted, receiving responses from 229 individuals with experience using VR content. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) analysis revealed a good model fit, indicating that users' perceptions of the usefulness and ease of use of VR content are significantly related to their satisfaction and intention to reuse VR content. These findings suggest that to enhance satisfaction with VR content services in libraries, it is essential to improve user convenience and create an immersive environment. Additionally, respondents indicated that VR content services could increase library user satisfaction and the intention to revisit the library. The most preferred VR content themes were games (action, strategy, etc.), travel, and space/ocean, in that order. While the overall feedback on providing VR content services in libraries was positive and filled with anticipation, some respondents expressed concerns about the potential lack of utility and the possibility of poor equipment management.

  • Economic impact analyses have not been widely conducted in archives. This article reports on a two parallel surveys in the US and Canada to assess the economic impact of government archives (state, provincial, territorial, county, and municipal). The surveys utilize indirect measures of economic impact. Responses from 2,534 people in 66 archives were analyzed. Findings indicate that archives were the primary reason that respondents visited an area and that visitors exhibit specific patterns of visiting the archives in conjunction with other cultural organizations in an area. Furthermore, while many respondents used local eateries, fewer rented lodgings or spent money on theater or sporting events. As a result, the archives participating in this survey did have a modest impact on local economies. The article concludes by discussing three major questions about the evaluation of the economic impact of archives which were raised by the findings: 1) Are indirect measures the most appropriate means of assessing economic impact in archives or should archives employ direct measures as used by public libraries? 2) How should government archives formulate their value proposition and should those value propositions focus on other aspects of archives' impact, such as the social impact, to demonstrate archives' important role in society? and 3) Since visitors exhibited distinct visitation patterns, should archives work more with these other aligned organizations and work on larger forms of collective impact that benefit the entire cultural heritage sector in an area?

We would like to suggest ways to improve it. In this study, the user traffic made on the website of University C was 'using Google Analytics', from January 2018 to December 2018 before the oneself of the COVID-19 virus and from January 2020 to 2020 after the outbreak of the virus. A comparative analysis was conducted until December. Web traffic variables were analyzed by classifying them into three characteristics: 'User information', 'Path', and 'Site behavior' based on metrics such as session, user, number of pageviews, number of pages per session time, and bounce rate. To summarize the study results, first, when compared with data from January 1 to January 20 before the oneself of COVID-19, users, new visitors, and sessions all increased compared to the previous year, and the number of sessions per user, number of pageviews, and number of pages per session, which showed an upward trend before the virus outbreak in 2020, increased significantly. Second, as social distancing was upgraded to the second stage, there was also a change in the use of university library websites. In 2020 and 2018, when the number os students was the lowest, the number of page views increased by 100,000 more in 2020 compared to 2018, and the number of pages per session also recorded10.46, which was about 2 more pages compared to 2018. The bounce rate also recorded 14.38 in 2018 and 2019, but decreased by 1 percentage point to 13.05 in 2020, which led to more active use of the website at a time when social distancing was raised.

  • Article 29 in the copyright law of Korea, public performance and broadcasting for non-profit purposes will be revised. The copyright agency has tried to impose copyright fees on the use of cinematographic works such as DVDs in public libraries. The paper studied that the individual watching cinematographic works in public libraries is included in the concept of public performance in the copyright law. Also, the study conducted a survey on the situation of use of cinematographic works in public libraries. As a result of the study, watching DVDs in facilities for 1~3 persons in public libraries could be included in the concept of public performance. But the main purpose of most of DVD users was for circulation or reading. The library service for individual DVD watching will therefore not affect the commercial income of the copyright holders. Finally the study suggested that if the service for the individual watching of cinematographic works in libraries is included in the concept of public performance, the copyright law needs to be revised so that the service is included in the exception to the right of public performance.

  • This study was conducted in Tateyama, Japan with on-site observation conducted by Professor Aizawa, who organized this locality movement. This research was focused on listening to people's explanations, observations and studying the related documentation. First of all, the locality of Tateyama City was formed by utilizing the historic records of the area. Through Namo Amitabha which was carved on the four-sided stone pagoda, the city formed the locality as the peaceful city. "The gift of the Sea" painted by Shigeru Aoki in this city contributed to the identity of this locality known as the 'city of art which the painter loved'. The reconstruction of localities through the documentation of the relics are as follows. Satomi Castle, which was discovered to be the setting of the famous fictional saga Satomi and the Eight "Dogs". The excavation and research of the ruins of forgotten World War II, is another example of reconstruction at this locality. This locality is seen as 'the city of peace' and was reconstructed through a positive and future oriented attitude. It is noticeable that the locality of Tateyama city was newly formed or reconstructed using local records and documentation relics in the area.
