The Role and Function of Academic Library to Support Cyber Education Successfully (가상교육의 성공적 지원을 위한 대학도서관의 역할 및 기능)

  • Academic libraries need to support effectively cyber education which should be managed successfully. When the information materials and library services for distance learners are supported efficiently, they can maximize learning effects. This study explored the role and function of academic libraries that seek to support cyber education successfully through previous foreign studies and presented the elements of the librarian, library service, digital library, library administration and policy that academic libraries must consider to support cyber education successfully.

  • 공공도서관은 인구통계적, 경제적, 자연적, 기술적, 정치적 환경속에서 지역사회 정보제공과 평생교육의 책임을 가진다. 공공도서관의 홈페이지를 통한 커뮤니케이션으로 행정, 생활, 지역문화, 교육, 직업정보 등을 제공 받을 수 있다. 공공도서관은 지역사회 정보문화센터로 평생교육 프로그램을 제공한다. 공공도서관의 핵심적 교육은 신직종 개발을 위한 프로그램을 안내하고 21C 첨단 유망직종을 소개하며 DB를 통한 취업정보, 직무교육 등 정보교환이 가능할 수 있도록 정보서비스를 확대해야 할 것이다.

  • The goal of library goes beyond providing information and it also strengthens the education programs for children. The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational role of librarian related to the education programs at library. For this purpose, a research model related to librarians' role for library's child education programs was designed. This research model is based on the constructivist teaching and learning theory. The designed and proposed model was then applied to 5 cases of Korean public library's education programs and some recommendations are suggested for better educational effects.

  • The purpose of this study is to guide the design and operation of maker education programs in school library and to spread them by sharing the maker education program case. For this purpose, we explained the case of maker education of Daegu S high school library and analyzed its significance in terms of users in quantitative and qualitative way. In order to analyze the user's perception of the image and self-efficacy of capacity building of school library maker education, we compared it with the perception of existing school library education programs. In addition, we analyzed whether there is a statistically significant difference in the perception of the maker education according to the grade of the student and the experience of the maker education. The perception of school library maker education was not more positive than the existing school library education program. However, it is noteworthy that students who experienced school library maker education showed a positive image and high level of perception of the self-efficacy of capacity building in both existing school library education and manufacturing education compared to those who did not. These results suggest that school library maker education can improve the overall image of school library education and raise perception of the self-efficacy of capacity building. We hope that this study will contribute to activate school library maker education.

  • The purpose of this study is to construct the school library consulting supervision model and to develop the evaluation indicators of school libraries in Korea. Individual School library should contribute from school educational objectives to national level educational objectives. When school libraries have accountability, consulting supervision and evaluation for the school library education is needed. School library consulting supervision model was developed with seven components. School library evaluation index is proposed with seventy-two indicators in six categories. Results of the evaluation will be able to take advantage consulting supervision.

  • IFLA의 어린이/청소년 도서관분과는 전세계의 어린이 청소년을 위한 도서관 발전에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 평생학습의 중요성, 어린이의 독서, 그들의 정보를 제공받을 권리에 대한 인식을 고양시키고 있다. A Study on the Current Condition and the Improvement of Digital Literacy Education (디지털 정보활용교육 운영실태 및 개선방안 연구)

  • This study aims to investigate the current state of digital literacy education in Korean public libraries and suggest improvements. The education programs were analyzed, which are offered in the National Library of Korea and related social and educational institutions, in order to explore the digital literacy education program required for public libraries. An interview was conducted with 38 librarians of the regional central libraries. Respondents reported that a cooperative program for digital literacy education with national library is essential, due to the lack of the budget and digital literacy resources. Based on the analysis, a model of the National Digital Library Information Literacy Education and the cooperative programs for digital literacy education were proposed.

  • 다음 지침은 미국도서관협회 대학 및 연구도서관부회 서지교육지침작성위원회에서 작성한 것으로 1977년 1월에 열린 ACRL 이사회 동계회의에서 ACRL의 정책으로 승인되었다. 지침작성위원회는 본 단명서가 훌륭한 지침교육 프로그램에 들어가야 할 수필적인 요소들을 정확하게 반영한 것이라 믿는다. 더욱이 이러한 형태의 지침은 서지교육 프로그램을 개선하거나 개발하고자 하는 대학도서관을 도와주기 위해서도 필요한 법이다. 본 지침 ARCL이 대학도서관봉사를 개선코자 추진하고 있는 역할의 일환으로 채택하였다.

Demand Analysis to Develop Continuing Education Programs for Academic Librarians in Korea (계속교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 대학도서관 사서의 수요 분석 연구)

  • This study aims to propose a set of guidelines for the development of university librarians' continuing education program. It examines previous academic literature regarding such programs both in Korea and overseas, as well as the present condition and demands of Korean university librarians. A survey was conducted by systematically sampling 33.3% of all university librarians nationwide and asking about their experiences with the existing continuing education program(e. g., general satisfaction level, program topics, program administration, evaluation methods, outreach methods, reasons for participation). The survey results show that the participants: (1) had a relatively low satisfaction level; (2) strongly demand programs focusing on library promotion, management of information resources and knowledge content, and skills to adiust to the rapidly changing library environment; (3) prefer a week-long course focused on specialized subjects and skill development; and (4) cite more specialized education content, the establishment of a support system, and diversified education levels as factors that would further their interest in the continuing education program.
