A Risk Management Method Using Fuzzy Theory for Early Construction Stage (퍼지이론을 이용한 초기 건설공사의 리스크 관리 방법)

  • This study presents a risk management methodology using fuzzy theory for early construction stage and is focused on risk identification and risk analysis. This study identifies various risk factors associated with activities clearly construction stage, then establishes the Risk Breakdown Structure(RBS) by classifying the risks into the three groups; Common risks, risks for Earth works, and risks for Foundation works. The risk analysis method presented in this study is based on the RBS that has two levels such as upper level and lower level. The risk exposure of lower level risk factors is assessed by fuzzy inference. The weight of risks is estimated by fuzzy measure. Then, the estimated risk exposures and weights are aggregated to assess the risk exposure of upper level risks by Choquet fuzzy integral. The risk exposure of upper level risks determine the priority of risk factors in view of risk management. This study performs case study to validate the proposed method. The result of case study shows that the methodology suggested in this thesis would be utilized well in evaluating risk exposure.

Velocity Measurement of Fast Moving Object for Traffic Information Acquisition (트래픽 정보 취득을 위한 고속이동물체 속도 측정)

  • In this paper, velocity measurement of fast moving object for traffic information acquisition using line sampling of image is proposed. Velocity measurement for traffic information acquisition of moving object is that the first sample line and second sample line on the road is set, then car is detected by using difference image method between time-variance hue data of image when car is passing two sample lines and hue data of the reference image, and velocity of the car is measured by using frame number of video which is occupied by two sample lines. Identification of the car is performed by hue of the detected car between the first sample line and second sample line, respectively To examine the propriety of the proposed algorithm, identification and velocity measurement for driving car is evaluated. The evaluated results is that it is identified by hue data of car passing two sample lines, and the velocity measurement for driving car is less than 3% comparing with X-band speed gun.

  • Studying the operation of urban control plan and control program of urban plan facilities to present development direction of urban plan in the future by performing multi-variate analysis, the research acquired the following conclusion. It is required to institutionally activate the inhabitants' participation by reflecting spontaneous participation and opinion of inhabitants to adminstration so that the effect of business can be maximized in the stage of establishing urban control plan. Furthermore, the participation of role dividing type is necessary to adjust and connect the interest of expert that has experience in practical business of overall urban plan, inhabitant and self-governing body. It is required to reduce the service supplied by government so as to enhance policy of plan-first and development last for facilities with high importance and utility such as road, park and water supply/sewage, etc as well as to seek control program that expands the participation of private sector for administration for which private service is possible.

Numerical Analysis of Inelastic Lateral Torsional Buckling Strength of HSB800 Steel Plate Girders with Doubly Symmetric Section (이축대칭단면 HSB800 강재 플레이트거더의 비탄성 횡비틂좌굴강도의 해석적 평가)

  • In this paper, lateral-torsional buckling(LTB) strength of HSB800 steel plate girder under uniform bending moment was estimated by the nonlinear analysis. Doubly symmetric sections with slender, noncompact and compact webs were considered and the LTB strength in the inelastic range was estimated by taking initial imperfection and residual stress into account. For the numerical analysis, single-panel model and three-panel model were considered and analysis of SM490 steel plate girder was performed to judge the validity of the constructed models by comparing the results with AASHTO, AISC, Eurocode and KHBDC(LSD) codes. By using the same models, LTB strength of HSB800 girder was evaluated and it was acknowledged that the current codes can be applied to HSB800 girders with doubly symmetric section in the inelastic LTB range.

  • This study if the first trial toward realizing a new methodology for vehicle re-identification based on heterogeneous sensor systems. A major interest of the author is how to effectively utilize information obtained from different sensors to derive accurate and reliable section travel times. The 'blade' sensor that is a newly developed sensor for capturing vehicle wheel information and the existing square loop sensor are employed to extract the inputs of the proposed vehicle re-identification algorithm. The fundamental idea of the algorithm developed in this study, which is so called 'anonumous vehicle re-identification,' it to match vehicle features obtained from both sensors. The results of the algorithm evaluation reveal that the proposed methodology could be successfully implemented in the field. The proposed methodology would be an invaluable tool for operating agencies in support of traffic monitoring systems and traveler information systems.

  • Variable message signs (VMS) are a useful tool for providing real-time traffic information to drivers. In particular, effective warning information provision leading to safer driving would be an important countermeasure to prevent traffic accidents. The purpose of this study was to identify users' preferences for traffic safety warning information formats. A variety of warning information scenarios using text and pictograms were devised and investigated for the purpose of selecting more effective methods to provide warning information. A portable variable message sign (PVMS) was used to evaluate users' preferences. The results of this study can be used for designing better warning information for the enhancement of traffic safety.

  • The state-of-art of curved box girder bridge with cross section design has advanced in various area. In these days, several analytical techniques for behaviors of curved box girder bridges cross section are available to engineers. The transfer matrix method is extensively used for the structural analysis because its merit in the theoretical background and applicability. The technique is attractive for implementation on a numerical solution by means of a computer program coded in Fortran language with a few elements. To demonstrate this fact, it gives good results which compare well with finite element method. Therefore, this paper proposed the static analysis method of curved box bridge with cross section by transfer matrix method based on pure-torsional theory and the optimal span ratio/variable cross section ratio of 3 span continuous curved box girder bridge.

  • 현재 도시지역의 침수피해는 매우 복잡한 형태로 발생하고 있으며, 침수 발생으로 사유재산 및 사회적 피해가 증대되고 있다. 불투수면이 높은 도시의 침수현상은 지표수의 이동, 매설된 관거의 형상과 통수능에 의한 월류가 주된 원인으로 작용한다. 인구와 건물 및 기반시설이 밀집한 도시지역은 침수피해 발생시 막대한 피해를 입을 수 있으며, 발생한 강우와 설치된 우수저감시설 및 내수배제시설에 따라 침수현상이 다르게 나타난다. 이러한 피해를 줄이고 재산을 보호하기 위해 적절한 치수사업이 필요하며, 시설의 도입에 따른 피해액 감소 및 경제성 분석이 우선시 되어 효율성과 타당성을 판단할 수 있어야 한다. 침수에 의한 피해액을 산정하기 위해 정확한 침수예측이 필요하며, 지형, 건물, 도시의 복잡한 도로 등을 잘 반영한 유출해석이 선행되어야 한다. 정밀한 침수해석이 수반되지 않을 경우, 침수예상지역을 다소 과소, 과대하게 나타낼 수 있다. 홍수피해의 경제성을 분석하기 위한 방법에는 다차원 홍수피해 산정방법이 있으며, 경제성 분석은 하천의 정비상태, 하도 및 관거, 제방 및 유수지 등 홍수 방지시설 등 구조적, 비구조적 대책을 모두 대상으로 하여야 하며, 인명과 재산이 집중된 도시의 경우 보다 정확한 피해액을 산정할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 과거 침수피해가 있었던 도림천 유역을 대상으로 펌프시설의 도입에 따른 건물 피해액 분석을 실시하였다. 우수관망과 도시지역의 유출모의에 적합하다고 알려진 SWMM 모형을 활용하여 침수현상을 분석하였으며, 다차원 홍수피해 산정방법을 활용하여 건물 피해와 건물 내용물 자산피해액을 분석하여 시설 도입에 따른 피해액 감소와 경제성을 분석하였다.

  • 도시의 발전으로 인해 시 도를 비롯한 시가 및 건조지역의 토지이용은 매우 복잡하게 변화되었다. 과거 농경이 주된 경제활동인 경우 주거지역은 매우 단순한 형태로 구성되었고 논, 밭, 산림 지역 등이 주를 이루었지만, 도시로 산업이 집중, 발달하고 인구가 밀집되며 주거지역, 상업, 공업, 교통지역 등 시가지역은 매우 다양하고 복잡하게 변화되었다. 도시가 발달하며 주거지의 건물가치와 상업 및 공업지역의 자산, 교통 및 공공시설의 공공적 가치가 상승하였고, 침수 발생시 사유재산 및 사회적 피해가 증대되고 있다. 시가 및 건조지역은 대부분 불투수율이 높은 지역으로 구성되어있으며, 이러한 도시에서 침수가 발생할 경우 지표수의 이동, 매설된 관거의 형상과 통수능에 의한 월류가 주된 원인으로 작용하여, 도로 및 건물의 형태에 의해 매우 복잡한 형태로 침수현상이 나타난다. 이러한 도시의 침수피해를 분석하기 위해 복잡하고 고 가치화된 도시의 토지이용 특성을 잘 반영한 침수 피해분석이 필요하고, 피해를 줄이고 재산을 보호하기 위한 치수시설의 도입에 따른 피해액 감소 및 경제성 분석이 우선시 되어 효율성과 타당성을 판단할 수 있어야 한다. 토지이용 특성이 반영되지 않을 경우 피해액을 다소 과소, 과대하게 산정할 수 있다. 홍수피해의 경제성을 분석하기 위한 방법에는 다차원 홍수피해 산정방법이 있으며, 경제성 분석은 하천의 정비상태, 하도 및 관거, 제방 및 유수지 등 홍수 방지시설 등 구조적, 비구조적 대책을 모두 대상으로 하여야 하며, 인명과 재산이 집중된 도시의 경우 보다 정확한 피해액을 산정할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 과거 침수피해가 있었던 도림천 유역을 대상으로 도시지역의 유출모의에 적합하다고 알려진 SWMM 모형을 활용하여 도시유출 해석 및 침수현상을 분석하였으며, 다차원 홍수피해 산정방법을 활용하여 주거, 상업 및 공업자산을 반영하기 우해 토지이용 특성에 따른 침수피해액을 분석하였다.

Computational Model for Hydrodynamic Pressure on Radial Gates during Earthquakes (레디얼 게이트에 작용하는 지진 동수압 계산 모형)

  • In this study, a computational model approach for the modeling of hydrodynamic pressures acting on radial gates during strong earthquakes is proposed. The use of the dynamic layering method with the Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) algorithm and the SIMPLE method for simulating free reservoir surface flow in addition to moving boundary interfaces between the fluid domain and a structure due to earthquake excitation are suggested. The verification and validation of the proposed approach are realized by comparisons performed using the renowned formulation derived by the experimental results for vertical and inclined dam surfaces subjected to earthquake excitation. A parameter study for the truncated lengths of the two-dimensional fluid domain demonstrates that twice the water level leads to efficient and converged computational results. Finally, numerical simulations for large radial gates with different curvatures subjected to two strong earthquakes are successfully performed using the suggested computational model.
