Division of Homogeneous Road Sections for National Highway by Genetic Algorithms (유전자 알고리즘을 적용한 국도의 동질성 구간 분할)

  • Traffic data such as traffic volume, speed, and vehicle Class are very important basic data for the plan and design of highway. Based on traffic data, the future service level of a specific highway and geometry of newly constructed or expended road is predicted and determined. The Ministry of Construction & Transportation has simultaneously surveyed coverage count and permanent count at highways since 1985. Traffic volume survey sections were determined at jointed nodes of highways and jointed nodes of highways and other roads such as freeway and local highway. Volume survey was performed at these sections. The premise to decide these sections is assumed that links between jointed nodes of main highways exhibit similar traffic characteristics. Recently, due to the change of highway geometries such as construction of detour road and installations of traffic facilities such as installation of media, traffic characteristics of the existing traffic volume survey sections was changed. To reflect these changes, traffic characteristics at homogeneous road sections was widely evaluated and analyzed. Using Genetic Algorithms, a model was developed for the evaluation of traffic characteristics at homogeneous road sections. Traffic volume survey sections were then determined through the application of the developed model for current traffic system.

  • 최근 수치영상은 사진측량의 기본원리를 이용하여, 각종 첨단 산업분야에 그 응용이 증대되고 있으며, 많은 관심과 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 가장 중요한 국가시설물인 도로 경우에기존도로의 설계자료나 수치지도가 없는 지역인 경우가 많아 그 자료들을 획득하는데 많은 비용이 소모된다. 또한 도로자료 획득시 도로에 교통량의 증가로 종래 측량방법으로는 상당한 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수치사진측량에 의한 도로선형정보체계 구축방법을 제시 하고자한다. 먼저 수치사진측량에서 취득된 자료들을 객체 지향적인 언어인 Delphi를 이용하여 도로평면선형정보와 도로종단선형정보를 구축하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발한 도로평면선형정보는 기발표된 연구보다 IP값은 약 X,Y방향으로 약 2m정도 정확도가 향상되었고, 곡선반경(R)은 약 2.5m정도의 정확도향상이 있었다.

A Study on Design Standards of a median strip in City considering Traffic Safety (교통안전을 고려한 도심형 중앙분리대 설치기준 마련에 관한 연구)

  • The Government is implementing the safety measures for pedestrian in living zone to decrease the traffic accident casualties in half. It is urgently to study the guideline because it contains to make the guideline of a median strip in City to prevent the violation of central line and jaywalking on the main contents. So, this study analyzed the pedestrian accidents and the violation of central line, and studied the type of a median strip, the installation guideline through studying the minimum crossing. Consequently, this study found out that a median strip which revised the attention inducement stick to decrease jaywalking could not have the strong prevention function of a crash barrier, so if it happens separation after the collision between vehicles, it induced the secondary accidents, and could take negative effects on traffic safety. In consideration of driving safety, this study analyzed that if it installs a median stirp, it has to ensure one meter, and such a thing could prevent the separation of lane or damage of facilities. However, if it is hard to ensure the space because of narrow road width, it could install a median strip in case of installing the road surface mark 0.5m. And the installation of the attention inducement stick or a median strip on the central line could be possible to induce the violation of central line, thus it is desirable not to install only anythings but also raised pavement markers.

Analysis on the Differences of Driving Abilities and Necessity Awareness on Traffic Safety Features by Driver's Age (운전자 연령에 따른 운전능력 및 교통안전시설물 필요성 인식 차이에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 연령증가에 따라 운전에 필요한 신체적, 인지적 능력의 변화가 어떻게 나타나는지 설문을 통해 분석하고, 이것이 교통안전 시설물(신호기, 노면표시, 도로표지판)의 필요성 및 적정성을 평가하는 것과 어떤 관계가 있는 지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 20세 이상 운전면허 소지자를 대상으로 5개 권역, 500명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 이를 분석하였다. 운전능력에 대한 자기평가 점수는 종합적 능력, 개별능력(시력, 청력, 색채식별 등) 모두 연령이 증가함에 따라 점수가 낮아지는 것으로 분석되었다. 특히 시력은 연령증가에 따른 감소폭이 크고, 절대적인 평균점수가 다른 항목에 비하여 낮게 나타났다. 시력의 경우 타 신체적, 인지적 능력에 비해 운전 중 기능의 저하에 따른 체감도가 크기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 설문결과에 따른 분류분석을 통해서는 신체적, 인지적 기능의 저하가 시작되는 연령이 기존의 고령운전자로 판단하는 65세 보다 낮은 48세로 분석되었다. 이것은 연령증가에 따른 기능 저하로 인한 영향을 받는 운전자가 그렇지 않은 운전자보다 더 많다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 시설물에 대한 필요성 인식에 대한 평가 역시 운전능력에서 차이를 나타내는 연령대에서 인식의 차이가 있을 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Operation and Maintenance in road infrastructure is repetitive carbon emissions activities to preserve the road in its originally constructed condition. In the view of road planning and construction, operation, and maintenance of life cycle, operation and maintenance stage quantification of carbon emissions is very important because it is easily accessible activities to reduce carbon emissions in road infrastructure that existing and new road. However, carbon emissions estimation in operation and maintenance stage is yet to do, because data collection is so hard and carbon emissions estimation methodology is very complicated. In this study, a basic unit of carbon emission in the operation and maintenance stage of the road infrastructure was developed in order to get the quantitative determination of carbon that occurring. Carbon emissions of the Expressway and Common state road was calculated by using the basic unit of carbon emission and application plan of basic unit of carbon emission are presented.

Development of Extracting Method of Horizontal Alignment in a Tunnel Using Positioning Satellite Data (측위위성자료를 활용한 터널 내 평면선형 추출기법 개발)

  • Roads have been developed throughout the history of mankind, and play a significant role among many traffic facilities for the economy, politics and cultures of our lives. However, the management of roads has not been fully scientific or systematic due to governmental policies focused on construction resulting in damages, and the loss of drawings for existing roads. In this case, it is difficult to manage roads using normal cadastre due to its time consuming work. And, when applying satellite surveying to rapidly extract the centerline of roads, it is impossible to obtain data about the status of internal tunnels. Therefore, this study can be used to extract optimum alignment data of tunnels using the data from satellite surveying, and is a practical paper which can contribute to efficient management and usage of alignment data and road facilities in establishing a HMS(Highway Management System) for the renewal and management of the alignment data of roads, by comparing the data from satellites with the alignment data in existing drawings.

A Position Information Hiding in Road Image for Road Furniture Monitoring (도로시설물 모니터링을 위한 도로영상 내 위치정보 은닉)

  • The recognition of current position and road surrounding of car is very important to driver for safe driving. This paper presents the recognition technique of the road traveling environment using position information hiding and viewpoint transform that monitors the information of road furniture and signature and notifies them to driver. The proposed scheme generates the road images into which the position information are hided, from car camera and GPS module and provides the road information to driver through the viewpoint transformation and the road signature detection. The driving tests with camera and GPS module verified that the position information hiding takes about 66.5ms per frame, the detection rate of road signature is about 95.83%, and the road signature detection takes about 227.45ms per frame. Therefore, we know that the proposed scheme can recognize the road traveling environment on the road video with 15 frame rate.

  • Traffic safety assessment is often accomplished by analyzing the number of crashes occurring in some geographic space over certain specific time duration. In this paper, we introduce a procedure that can efficiently analyze spatial and temporal changes in traffic crashes before-and-after implementation of a certain traffic controlling measure. For the analysis, crash frequency data before-and-after closing a major highway around St. Louis in Missouri was collected through Transportation Management System(TMS) database that is maintained by Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT). In order to identify any spatial and temporal pattern in crashes, each crash is pinpointed on a map using the dynamic segmentation in GIS. Then, the identified pattern is statistically confirmed using an analysis of variance table. The advantage of this approach is to easily assess spatial and temporal trend of crashes that are not readily attainable otherwise. The results from this study can possibly be applied in enhancing the highway safety assessment procedure. This paper also makes several suggestions for future development of a comprehensive transportation data system in Korea which is similar to MoDOT's TMS database.

  • 국민의식 수준이 높아지면서 도로교통 등 SOC 시설물 이용에 대한 서비스도 다양화 고도화되면서 사용자 가치를 반영한 서비스수준 요구가 커지고 있다. 본 연구는 국내외 선행 연구사례 고찰을 통해 정보시스템과 터널시설물의 서비스수준 등의 평가항목을 도출하고 AHP기법을 사용하여 평가항목들 간의 상대적 중요성을 계산하여 정보시스템과 터널시설물의 서비스수준간의 중요도 관계분석을 통한 연구사례가 많지 않은 국도상의 터널시설물을 대상으로 향후에 사용자중심의 시설물유지관리정보시스템 개발 방안을 마련하였다.

VTS 관제구역 내 대규모 해상공사 관련 안전관리 개선방안에 대한 제언

  • 국내에서는 원활한 물류 수송과 도로 이용자의 편의를 위한 해상교량 건설 등 대규모 해상공사가 활발하게 추진되고 있다. 하지만 항만 및 주요 항로를 횡단하는 해상 교량과 시설물이 해상이용자의 통항 안전과 효율성에 대한 충분한 고려 없이 경제적인 측면만을 부각하여 건설되고 있다. 이로 인해 VTS 관제구역내 위치하는 4~9년 공사기간의 대규모 해상공사와 해상교통안전 확보를 요구하는 해상교통관제센터 및 선박운항자의 어려움이 반복되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 경인항VTS 관제구역에서 진행중인 영종도와 청라를 잇는 제3연륙교 건설의 해상공사가 해양사고 등 선박교통 위험성과 VTS 업무에 영향을 미치는 요소를 살펴보고, 이에 대한 대응 방안을 고찰해 보았다.
