Immature and adult stages of Hydropsyche orientalis Martynov, previously known as Hydropsyche KUe in Korea, were associated based on field observations and rearing experiments. Its larval instars, larval retreat, pupa, pupal case, and male and female adults were described and its ecological notes were provided.

To investigate the vegetation structure of mountain ridge from Pijae to Doraegijae in Baekdudaegan, forty-three sites(size 500$m^2$) were set up and surveyed By using TWINSPAN classification. the plant community was divided into five groups, those are mixed forest on sub-alpine zone. Quercus mongolica - Acer pseudo-sieboldianum community, Q. mongolica-Pinus densiflora community, and Larix leptolepis forest. Quercus mongolica was found as a major woody plant species in the ridge area. And partly the subalpine zone in low elevation was occupied by deciduous tree species and mixed a few conifer such as Abies nephrolepis and Taxus cuspidata etc.. Species diversity index(Area 1,000$m^2$) in the showed calculated 2.0149~3.0139 and it was similar to those of the ridge area of the national parks in Beakdudaegan.

Thirteen species of Limnephilidae and two of Goeridae are recorded from South Korea. Among them, Brachypsyche schmidi, is described as new to science, and Limnephilus orientalis Martynov and Goera curvispina Martynov are reported for the first time from the Korean peninsula. In addition, Nemotalius mutatus MacLachlan, Asynarchus amurensis Ulmer, and Hydatophylax formosus Schmid are recognized as new to South Korean fauna. Diagnostic information with illustrations fo adults, genitalia of both sexes, and distribution data are provided.

For the zoning of natural ecosystem, Vegetation Index is calculated from the vegetation data surveyed on Baekdudaegan (Pijae-Doraegijae). Five factors -biodiversity, conservation value of the stand, environmental quality, longevity of the stand, site productivity- are considered in the calculation of Vegetation Index. Vegetation Index might be a useful zoning tool for management of Baekdudaegan. For Vegetation Index I, 59 sample plots 52.2% of total 113 sample plots are belong to core area, 34 sample plots 30.l% and 20 sample plots 17.7% are belong to buffer zone and transition area, respectively. For Vegetation Index II, 49 sample plots 43.4% of total 113 sample plots are belong to core area, 38 sample plots 33.6% and 26 sample plots 23.0％ are belong to buffer zone and transition area, respectively.

A new limnephilid caddisfly, Nothopsyche bilobata n. sp., is described. The female adult of Apatania martima Ivanov and Levanidova and the larva of Ecclisomyia kamtshatica (Martynov) is newly recorded from Korea. Three undetermined species, Nemotaulius sp. A, Nemotaulius sp. B, and Nothopsyche sp. A, are additionally described.

An examination of caddisfly materials from the field trips in Vietnam during 2002-2003 resulted in the recognition of the male adult of Tinodes reuse Malicky & Chantaramongkol(new Vietnamese record) and four undetermined species of larvae (Psychomyia VL1, Psychomyia VL2, Paduniella VL1, and Tinodes VL1) in the family Psychomyiidae Genera Psychomyia and Paduniella are recorded from Vietnam for the first time. Material data, descriptions, diagnoses, distributions, and taxonomic remarks are provided.

A new species of the genus Nemoura is described from Korea. Nemoura gemma sp. n. is close to Nemoura jezoensis Okamoto and Nemoura alaica Zhiltzova, but can be distinguished by the entire shape, dorsal sclerite, and the presence of spines on ventral sclerite of epiproct, and the existence of cercal hooks.
