Methods: The draft for duty of Medical Care Client Managers was formed by the method of developing a curriculum (DACUM) and data were collected from 185 Medical Aid Client Managers in 234 areas to evaluate the actual frequency of accomplishment, importance and difficulty in comparison with the standards for duties. Results: The standard duty draft for Medical Care Client Manager is composed of five separate groups of duties and thirty five tasks. The five duties are Case Management, Extension Approval, External Cause of Injury, Duplicate Claims and Other Administrations. Seven Tasks are allocated to each duty such as Case Management, Extension Approval and External Cause of Injury. Five tasks are allocated to 'Duplicate Claims' duty and nine tasks are allocated to 'Other Administrations' duty. Conclusion: From the results of analysis for duties, it was apprehensive about overburdened responsibilities and carelessness in professional duties. It was necessary to establish specific guidelines for duties because of redundent application or regional variation in frequency of accomplishing other administrative duties. It was necessary to relieve a regional disparity of business charge and also was necessary to propose an alternative plan to relieve the overburdened responsibilities.

  • To build autonomous agents who can make a decision on behalf of humans in time-critical complex environments, the formulation of operational knowledge base could be essential. This paper proposes the methodology of how to formulate the knowledge base and evaluates it in a practical application domain. We analyze threat data received from the multiple sensors of Aircraft Survivability Equipment(ASE) for Korean helicopters, and integrate the threat data into the inductive model through compilation technique which extracts features of the threat data and relations among them. The compiled protocols of state-action rules can be implemented as the brain of the ASE. They can reduce the amounts of reasoning, and endow the autonomous agents with reactivity and flexibility. We report experimental results that demonstrate the distinctive and predictive patterns of threats in simulated battlefield settings, and show the potential of compilation methods for the successful detection of threat systems.

In this study the DACUM method was used to analyze the jobs of operating room nurses. Method: Through the DACUM workshop which was arranged by two DACUM facillitators, a definition of the role of operating room nurses was developed and then duties and tasks of operating room nurses' were identified. For the workshop, a DACUM committee with 10 operating room nurses was organized. Finally, the duties and tasks which were identified were validated by 422 nurses for importance, difficulty and frequency. Results: Thirteen duties and 105 tasks were identified on the DACUM chart, where importance, difficulty, and frequency of tasks were represented by alphabet letters A, B, and C as higher degree of importance. The determinant coefficient(DC) showed that the most important duty was assisting with operations(DC=6.61), and the least, managing operating materials(DC=4.22). For tasks, the most important ones were assisting in orthostatic surgery(DC=7.60), and assisting in thoracic surgery(DC=7.38), and the least important making gauze ball(DC=2.39), and saving of operation site((DC=3.27). Conclusion: The results suggest a need to develop an education program using the DACUM chart as a basis for the development and as a clinical career ladder and for curriculum of operating room nursing.

The results showed that the most important duty was 'exposure management (M=4.72)', the most difficult duty was 'radiation therapy (M=4.29)', and the most frequently performed duty was 'radiation examination (M=4.19)' respectively. In addition these results were compared with the current curriculum. It turned out that there are quite differences between the school education and actual work. For example, 'patients care' duty was identified as the main job but only 57.1% of the schools offer related courses. The current curriculum focused on the theory for the radiologic technologist is not sufficient to perform the field operation.
