Simulacre is one of the major topics in the Western philosophy since Plato. Since the 20th century, the Western philosophy is based on rationalism toward 'absolute truth' founded on Platonic Ideas. The concept of Simulacre is ignored and rejected until the modern days. However, Simulacre is gaining its attention at this time of image. and the time of Simulacre. The concept of postmodern Simulacre started from Walter Benjamin is developed by Gnther Anders, Jacques Derrida, Gilles Deleuze, and Jean Baudrillard. This study, based on the Jean Baudrillard's concept of Simulacre, examines today's Simulacre phenomena and analyzes the cinematic works of Oshii Mamoru who displays the concept of Simulacre in his films. Analyzing and evaluating his recent visual works based on Simulacre theory with such superficial methods as advanced special visual effects is a mistake that demeans Simulation? (Matrix). Today, Simulacre phenomena are scattered all over our life. The search of its substance and the analysis of his artworks will be a foundation that makes a new alternative suggestion.
This paper has tried to analyze the characteristics of space in Korean traditional architecture by deconstructive concept through connecting Lao-tzu's theory, the main discourse of East and West, with Derrida's deconstructionism theory. Derrida's philosophical term of differance(diff$\acute{e}$rance) is similar to Tao of Lao-tzu. It is because Derrida emphasized the relationships with others by trying the strategy of overcoming dichotomous thinking by this term. Tao of Lao-tzu also has the relative characteristics that cannot be concluded by one sole meaning. Like this, Derrida and Lao-tzu are against traditional and dichotomous way of thinking. In this point of view, this study has set Derrida's deconstruction theory and Lao-tzu's thinking as the common viewpoint of this world. And through the phrase of Tao Te Ching which means deconstructive Tao, deconstructive space design vocabulary was derived as mixed no-boundary, shape of no-shape, transcendence of time and space. The deconstructive characteristics of traditional space by case study analysis of Lao-tzu's deconstructive space design are as follows: First, it is not a specific or detailed shape but an unlimited possibility that can be transformed into something else, moving and changing endlessly and has a borderless beauty. Second, it is nothing itself but creates various shapes, as if it exists without shape. Third, it is a relative and unlimited space and pursuits a free form as a non-conceptional shape without any system or value.
This study is possible because, first, "rammatology" and typography are connected by language. Second, I believe that language in typography should be comprehended in a relationship between peripheral studies such as history, philosophy, literature, and linguistics. Finally, "grammatology" is an excellent subject for experiments which attempt to rehabilitate the right of language, which is dependent on sound within the metaphysical boundary. This study is formed on the idea that the study of typography should be based on language, which is the basic foundation, and that this is possible in investigations related to peripheral studies. The main purpose of typography is an accurate delivery of meaning. However, the dynamics of creative thoughts towards advancement mainly depends on experiment, thus we cannot limit the purpose of typography as a means of communication to exchange meanings. For these reasons, I admit that interest in peripheral studies -which are not yet approached in the study on typography -take precedence.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the possibilities and legitimacies for using integrated essay on Home Economics Education, and to suggest the instructional design. Integrated Essay consisted with three composers, subject(students), object(texts), and strategy(thinking abilities). The results of theoretical analysis, socio-constructionalism by Vygotsky, the deconstructional literacy criticism by Derrida, and cognitive psychological approach by Beyer, Wood et al, Hayes were supported the integrated essay in instruction for Home Economics Education. Also, essay tests types of university entrance exams in Korea, previous researches of thinking ability in Home Economics Education, and essay questions in textbook were analysed. As results, theoretical framework, instruction process, and instruction design for integrated essay in Home Economics Education were developed. The possibility of integrated essay is high but it's real estimate will success when Home Economics Education realize it's nature.
The purpose of this paper is to make a critique of racial aspects of Caribbean literature more ethical through a constant concern with history and political philosophy. The first step I take for this purpose is a comparative reading of C. L. R. James's view of Toussaint L'Ouverture's position and Frantz Fanon's view of race and class in the historical context of the Caribbean power-relations. In so doing, I examine how Toussaint's and Fanon's wills to negotiation were thwarted in the New World history. To elaborate upon this ethico-political approach, I have recourse to the so-called later Derrida, focusing on his books, such as The Politics of Friendship, Of Hospitality, On Cosmopolitanism and Forgiveness, etc. Taking an up-close look at Derrida's thought, I argue that his political contemplation of ethics is as effective as his deconstruction of "otherness" in dealing with the nature of ethnic clashes in both the real world and minority literature. In the second half of my paper, I reexamine the issues of race, gender, and class in the three novels of Jamaica Kincaid - Annie John, Lucy, and The Autobiography of My Mother. It is conceivable that from the feminist perspective Kincaid's fiction has been read as a postcolonial Bildungsroman. In my supplementary attempts to this criticism, I reveal that the teenage narrator's precocious awareness is still under the colonial influence in the Annie John section. My analysis of Lucy contends that the reasons why the white woman fails to make friends with the young black woman should be sought in the long history of the U.S. racial politics. In the section of The Autobiography of My Mother, I discuss how difficult it is for a minority woman to liberate from the spell of history insofar as she is engaged in the issue of identity. In closing, I pose a need of consolation that literature may grant us by becoming able to produce a different interpretation on all the bleaker reality.
Makoto Shinkai, an animated film maker in Japan, has been featured as a one-person production system and as a 'writer of light', but his 2016 release of "Your Name" was a departure from the elements that characterize his existing works. At the same time, by the combination of the traditional musubi(むすび) story, ending these, it was a big hit due to its rich narratives and attraction of open interpretation possibility. As it can be guessed from the title of this work, this work shows the encounter between the Japanese ancient language and the modern language in relation to the 'name', and presents the image that the role of the name(language) is repeatedly emphasized with various variations in events for the perfect 'encounter'. In this work, the interpretations of $Signifi\acute{e}$ for characters and objects are extended and reserved as a metaphorical role of the similarity, depending on the meaning of the subject which they touch. The relationship between words and objects analyzed through the structure of Signifiant and $Signifi\acute{e}$ is an epoch-making ideological discovery of modern times revealed through F. Saussure. Focusing on "the difference" between being this and that from the notion of Saussure, Derrida dismissed logocentrism, rationalism that fully obeyed the order of Logos. Likewise, dismissing the center, or dismissing the owner had emerged after the exclusive and closed principle of metaphysics in the west was dismissed. Derrida's definition of 'deconstruction' is a philosophical strategy that starts with the insight on the nature of language. 'Dissemination,' a metaphor that he used as a methodological concept to read texts acts as interpretation and practice (or play), but does not pursue an ultimate interpretation. His 'undecidability' does not start with infinity, but ends with infinity. The researcher testifies himself and identifies that we can't be an interpreter of the world because we, as a human are not the subject of language but a user. Derrida also interpreted the world of things composed of Signifiant and $Signifi\acute{e}$ as open texts. In this respect, this study aimed to read Makoto's works telling about the meeting of a thing and a thing with name as a guide, based on Derrida's frame of 'deconstruction' and 'dissemination.' This study intends to re-consider which relationship the Signifiant and $Signifi\acute{e}$ have with human beings who live in modern times, examine the relationship between words and objects presented in this work through Jacques Derrida's destruction and dissemination concepts, and recognize that we are merely a part of Signifiant and $Signifi\acute{e}$. Just as Taki and Mitsuha confirm the existence by asking each other, we are in the world of things, expecting musubi that a world of names calls me.
It is very interesting phenomenon that despite a broad consensus on the need for social worker to take cultural aspects into professional practice, thus to be a culturally competent, a number of materials criticising the concept of cultural competence have emerged in these days simultaneously. The main purpose of the study is to clarify such phenomenon, which means that this article is trying to analyze the contents of such critical discourse on cultural competence and the validity of those contents. The result of the study finds out that most of the arguments can be categorized into three aspects: epistemological, ethical, ontological, and that most of the main ideas of the critical discourses have been borrowed from a branch of critical social work theories, especially highly influenced from Foucault and Derrida. This article argues that critical discourses have some significant problems which make a conflict with traditional values and tenets in social work as a human service profession. First, epistemologically, the critical discourse fails to differentiate the matter of discovery from that of justification, which brings the cultural competence to the brink of agnosticism. Second, ethically, insisting that there should be no foundational criteria for cultural hierarchy in term of rightness or goodness, the critical discourses reveal their intrinsic limitations in solving ethical dilemmas and conflict in real world, which can be considered as a kind of evasion of responsibility in disguise of cultural relativism. Third, in practical vein, critical discourses are largely in effective in specifying the concrete model to realize their own ideas, and furthermore they unintentionally promote context-blind perspectives that eclipses the significance of structural and systematical impacts on the cultural identity.
The absence of the commensurable general mass media system theory has been problematic in empirical communication studies. This study first suggests the static mass media system theory based on modified Habermas's two level society, and then develops the dynamic mass media system theory based on the boundary-agencement theory that synthesizes Luhmann's boundary theory and Delueze & Guattari's agencement theory. In the static mass media system theory, the mass media system interpenetrates other social subsystems and the life world as a part of the cultural system coordinated by generalized language media. In the dynamic mass media system theory, the mass media system is a boundary of all social subsystems. The mass media system also articulates its self-referential observations to other-referential observations from other subsystems, mediated interpenetrations between the social subsystems and the life world. Especially, performances in the mass media system deterritorizes social systems to the life world, and reterritorizes the life world to social systems. The general mass media system theory can provide commensurability for various empirical mass media system studies, and prevent biases when researchers choose research topics.
The article has the characteristics of a preliminary writing about how to look at the trend of new archives 'fever' and 'impulsion' emerging around the domestic and foreign art world, which have not been paid much attention yet in the 'mainstream' archive research, and how to accept it independently. Specifically, this study aims to examine how archival art is involved in history and memory with aesthetic attitudes and methods through observation of recent tendency of domestic archive art, and what implications or influence the 'archival impulse' phenomenon in the art world can have on the research trend of 'archival studies.' First, I would like to look at the meaningful movement to reinterpret and actively accept archival impulses in concrete overseas cases, that is, the archive system of a public archive in the United States. This is followed by an attempt to explore the characteristics and characteristics of creative works that are carried out through the medium of archives, that has not yet reached the level of organization of specific archive methods but are sporadically attempted in the domestic art world. It examines how so-called 'archive artists' record unrecorded in a way that is not observed in the existing archival world, and how they summon and include excluded history in aesthetic language. In conclusion, this study explores the possibility of pulling the historical records of tradition out from archival boxes and reinterpreting them as living archives within the contemporary emotional structure from this new artistic trend called 'archival art'.
This paper is the outcome of attempting to approach for reading the Analects of Confucius through the polysemy of Chinese character and indecidability of articles. For this purpose at first, I explained which this Chinese character can be applied for 'philosophy language'. In the 16th century Matteo Ricci had tried to find out the possibility of ideographic script as standing for a universal language. On the other hand, Hegel and Heidegger strictly insisted on the Chinese character is inappropriate for expressing the logic thought of the human being. The reason was as next; firstly, this character had not the preposition and articles, and secondly the only one word could not indicates the bisemy including the meaning of opposition, lastly this language system expresses and communicates only with the change of word order without inflection. But With some scholar like Cassirer, Saussure and Derrida we can confirm the possibility which will discover the Chinese character for using the logic and reasoning language of from different view. Because in the language system of this Chinese character the connection of words in contexts is more important other than meaning as the individual word, in comparison to the language of the West. The Chinese character hides the original meaning until being what kind of event and thing relationship watch inside with different letters. So to speak, the Chinese character is called as 'language of indecidability'. For these points, even though The Chinese character lacks of preposition, articles, and inflection speech etc. the letter systematic, this language system can play a role for expressing as the philosophic language which manages with the complicated problems of the human being.
