Design of Lead-Shear Damper for Stay Cables (사장교 케이블 진동감소용 납-전단 댐퍼의 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 지점근처에 납-전단 댐퍼(LSD)가 설치된 케이블의 동적 거동에 대해 다루었다. 이러한 동적 거동에 대한 파악은 케이블의 진동 감소 목적으로 댐퍼를 설계하는 경우 중요한 절차중 하나이다. 납-전단 댐퍼와 같은 이력형 댐퍼의 실제 이력곡선에 기초하여 본 연구에서는 납-전단 댐퍼의 이력곡선을 완전 탄소성으로 가정하였다. 납-전단 댐퍼의 역학적 모델은 등가 켈빈 모델을 사용하였으며 케이블의 새그 효과를 고려하였다. 납- 전단 댐퍼의 용량이라고 할 수 있는 항복력을 설계변수로 선택하고 케이블에 최적의 감쇠효과를 부여하는 동적학적 관계에 대해 연구하였다. 또한 댐퍼가 케이블에 설치되는 지점과 케이블의 장력에 대한 댐퍼의 감쇠효과에 대해서도 연구하였다. 매개변수 해석결과 케이블의 기하학적 형상 및 댐퍼의 설치조건에 따라 납-전단 댐퍼가 케이블에 부가하는 감쇠의 크기가 변함을 알 수 있었으며, 이때 최대의 감쇠성능을 발휘하는 최적 항복력이 존재하는 것을 알았다.

Analytical Modelling of Column-Type Hybrid Damper and Seismic Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings (기둥 복합댐퍼의 해석모델 구축 및 기존 건축물에 대한 내진보강 효과분석)

  • Analytical studies are performed to evaluate the feasibility of column-type hybrid damper for seismic rehabilitation of existing buildings. For this purpose, at first, analytical model which can simulate the hysteretic behavior of column-type hybrid damper is proposed for use of commercially-available structural analysis program (MIDAS). Also seismic rehabilitation effects by column-type hybrid damper were evaluated by time history analysis for the existing building with vertical extension. From the analysis, it was found that base shear of typical building is reduced about 20% and story drift was reduced around 20% at critical story.

가변댐퍼의 성능해석

  • 본 연구에서는 ER(electro-rheological) 유체을 이용한 가변댐퍼(variable damper)를 제안했다. 전기장(electric field) 부하시 Bingham특성을 갖는 ER유체는 전기장에따라 항복전단응력이 변하기 때문에이를 이용하여 댐핑력을 제어할 수 있다. 피스톤의 상하압력차가 전기장의 함수이기 때문에 기존의 비능동 혹은 능동형 댐퍼에서 필요로하는 복잡한 밸브시스템이 필요없으며, 따라서 구조면에서 매우 간단하게 설계될 수 있고, 반응시간 또한 매우 빠르다. 간단한 현가정치 모델을 설정 하여제안된 ER 댐퍼의 효율성과 우수성을 주파수 및 시간 영역에서 해석하였다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the characteristic test results of an MR damper for a cruise bus, and we model the nonlinear hysteretic characteristics of the damper using arctangent and polynomial functions. We establish an experimental model of the MR damper according to the input current, and we set the model parameters using the MATLAB Optimization Toolbox. The model is verified via a computer simulation of a full-car model.

  • The seismic response reduction capacity of a smart mid-story isolation system was investigated using the RNN model in this study. For this purpose, an RNN model was developed to make a dynamic response prediction of building structures subjected to seismic loads. An existing tall building with a mid-story isolation system was selected as an example structure for realistic research. A smart mid-story isolation system was comprised of an MR damper instead of existing lead dampers. The RNN model predicted the seismic responses accurately compared to those of the FEM model. The simulation time of the RNN model can be reduced significantly compared to the FEM model. After the numerical simulations, the smart mid-story isolation system could effectively reduce the seismic responses of the existing building compared to the conventional mid-story isolation system.

A Study on Base Isolation Performance and Phenomenological Model of E-Shape Steel Hysteretic Damper (E-Shape 강재이력댐퍼의 수치모델과 기초격리구조물의 지진응답)

  • Recently, as large structures become lighter and more flexible, the necessity of structural control for reducing excessive displacement and acceleration due to seismic excitation is increased. As a means to minimize seismic damages, various base isolation systems are adopted or considered for adoption. In this study, a base isolation system using hysteretic damper is shown to effectively protect structures against earthquakes. A mechanical model is determined that can effectively portray the behavior of a typical E-shape device. Comparison with experimental results for a hysteretic damper indicates that the model is accurate over a wide range of operating conditions and adequate for analysis. The seismic performance of hysteretic dampers are studied and compared with the conventional systems as a base isolation system. A five-story building is modeled and the seismic performance of the systems subjected to three different earthquake is compared. The results show that the hysteretic damper system can provide superior protection than the other systems for a wide range of ground motions.

  • This paper presents design and performance evaluation of MR damper for the reducing vibration of a flexible pipe conveying fluid. A novel type of MR damper which is suitable for pipe vibration characteristics is proposed and the MR damper is mathematically modeled and its damping force characteristics are evaluated. The vibration control performance of the MR damper associated with The cantilever pipe system is evaluated.

Bingham Charateristics of Electrorheological Fluid and Its Application to ER valve and ER Damper (전기유변유체의 빙햄특성과 밸브 및 댐퍼에의 응용)

  • 전기장이 인가되고 있는 유로를 유동하는 전기유변유체의 기본성질을 파악하기 위 한 실험 및 해석적 연구를 수행하여 빙햄유체로서의 유효성에 대해 알아보고 전기장과 유로 면 형상 및 진동유동으로 인한 영향에 대해 조사함으로써 ER밸브 및 ER대퍼로의 응용과 관련한 감쇄력 제어에 대해 검토하였다. 첫 번째 실험은 ER밸브의 높이가 2mm인 적극면이 평탄한것과 요철로 된 것을 사용하여 압력손실을 압력변환기로 측정함으로써 전기장 및 유 로형상에 대한 영향을 알아보았다. 압력손실 및 전단응력이 전기자세기와 함수관계를 가짐 을 알수 있었고 전기장세기와 유속의 변화시 손실계수에 의한 ER효과의 상이함이 확인되었 으며 레이놀즈수가 커지면 항복전단응력의 영향은 나타나지 않았다. 두 번째 실험은 실린더 를 정현파로 진동시켜 ER밸브에서 감쇠력제어가 가능한가를 알아보고 빙햄유체모델로 설계 된 ER댐퍼의 모델과 비교하였다. ER배르와 ER댐퍼의 수학적 모델을 시뮬레이션한 결과는 약간 벗어남이 보이기는 하나 실험결과와 일치하요 있다. 이것은 ER유체를 단순히 빙행유 체로 취급할수없으나 거시적으로는 빙햄유체로 취급할수 있음을 시사한다.

Finite Element Analysis on the Displacement Behavior Characteristics of a Safety Helmet with a Corrugation Damper (주름댐퍼를 갖는 안전헬멧의 변형거동특성에 관한 유한요소해석)

  • In this paper, the displacement behavior and strain energy density characteristics of a safety helmet with various corrugation dampers has been analyzed based on the finite element analysis. The safety helmet is to protect impact forces and to absorb the impact energy. Three different helmet models with a corrugation damper have been compared as functions of the displacement and strain energy density characteristics when the maximum external impulsive force is imposed on the summit of the helmet. The computed FEM results show that the extruded corrugation damper is very useful to increase the damping effect of the helmet. This study indicates that the round corrugation damper may absorb the transferred impact energy successfully. Thus, this paper recommends round and long corrugation damper on the lower part of the helmet as a new design element.

  • In recent years vibration control damper made of low yield point steel is expected to play an important role in controlling structural vibration induced earthquake and wind. But their dynamic characteristics and energy dissipation effects on the whole structure model are not clarified. In this paper, firstly, we presents the results of cyclic tests on low yield steel dampers. Secondly, forced vibration tests on existence three stories steel structure model with low yield point steel dampers are presented. Lastly, it is estimated energy amount which is dissipated through the hysteresis dampers by using two types of analytical models, hysteresis model and equivalent linear model.
