고속 차량 충돌 사고 대비를 위한 충격 흡수용 자기식 댐퍼 설계 (Design of a New Linear Magnetic Damper for Shock-Absorbing from Crash Accident of High Speed Vehicles)

  • This paper proposes a new linear magnetic damper for absorbing shock from a crash accident involving high speed vehicles. The magnetic damper is composed of a conductive plate, a yoke and permanent magnets which are constructed to a Halbach array to improve the damping force. In order to calculate the damping force, finite element analysis(FEA) using J-Mag, a commercial FEA tool, is performed and the results are validated by the experiment. Also, the design optimization of the plate generating the eddy current causing the damping force performed to obtain the most efficient damping force. Finally, the specifications and the performance of the proposed magnetic damper are represented.

  • This paper deals with design and analysis of thrust magnetic bearing for 300HP class high speed motor. Using the solutions obtained from equivalent magnetic circuits, we predicts the electromagnetic characteristics such as thrust, time constant and power loss according to design parameters. And then, using non-linear finite element analysis, a detailed design is performed considering saturation in order to meet requirements.

  • Most turbo machines, which operate at high speeds, such as gas turbines, jet engines, pumps, and compressors are prone to perrturbing vibrations. The best vibration control method for rotors is to eliminate destabilizing factors. Careful balancing application of "more stable" oil-lubricated bearing, such as tilting pad bearings or use of anti-swirl devices in seals, are examplse of passive vibration control methods. the use of magnetic bearing is an active control method. An obvious advantage of active control is that it provides damping (or modifies system stiffness or other parameters) only when there is a need for that, i.e., in emergency states, while not affecting the rotor normal operational conditions. Moreover, active control methods provide exact position control through on-line control. In this study, a magnetic actuator, digital contrliier using DSP, and bipolar operational power supply/amplifiers were developed to show the effectiveness of reducing robot vibration. Also the curve fitting procedure to obtain the transfer function of frequency dependent component was developed. Results presented in this dissertation will provide a well-defined technical parameters in designing magnetic damper system.er system.

  • High speed rotating airflow inside a HDD chamber causes sub-micron scale disk vibration that could generate significant TMR problems in most of current HDD products. Many publications are presented for the reduction of airflow excitation. One of the most effective methods widely adopted in high-end HDD products is SqueezeAir Bearing Plate (SABP). However, because of its tight assembly clearance between the damper and disk, this method could not be easily implemented in volume production. This article presents a disk damper design that is modified to be feasible for volume production by virtue of a new airflow modeling method.

  • 차량 축계의 비틀림진동은 엔진 공회전시와 정속주행시(완만한 가감속) 및 가속페달 급조작에 따른 급격한 가감속에 대해 각각 고유한 동특성을 나타내면서 차체의 진동과 소음을 유발시킨다. 공회전시의 진동해석 및 가속페달 급조작에 따른 차량 전후 진동에 대해서는 지금까지 많은 연구가 진행되어 상당한 발전을 이룩한 반면 완만한 가감속시 차량의 전속도 구간에서의 진동해석에 대해서는 해석상의 어려움으로 인해 주로 실험에 의한 접근 방법에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 수동변속기가 장착된 전륜구동 승용차를 대상으로 차량 전속도 구간에서 축계의 비틀림진동 해석을 할 수 있는 방법을 개발하였으며, 개발된 방법을 트랜스미션 축진동 저감을 위한 클러치 비선형특성 튜닝에 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 강제진동해석방법은 수동변속기가 장착된 모든 종류의 차량에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 기대되며 자동변속기의 댐퍼클러치 설계에도 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • In this study, we attempted to characterize the physical meaning of the design parameters used for automobile passive dampers by considering the slit, disc, and hole, which influence the pressure characteristics. We also analyzed the change in the pressure characteristics when mixing various slits and discs. Finally, we used a computer simulation to implement lag according to nitrogen gas and analyzed the dependence of frequency on the nitrogen gas pressure.

  • In this paper, an assistive device for a knee joint to help a disabled person to stand up by supporting power is presented. The device is designed and controlled by using damping characteristics of the MR (Magneto-Rheological) damper. The MR damper helps the person to sit slowly and safely. A DC motor supports muscle power in the case of standing motion. Thus the device helps the disabled person to sit down and stand up. Through the experiments, it is feasible that an assistive device can help the disabled person to standup according to the foot pressure change.

  • An air handling unit(AHU) has been usually designed by manual calculations. Drawing works together with design calculations should be redone far every designing work, and also be needed to make some corrections of them. In order to design the AHU more efficiently, an AHU program has been developed. The developed program on the Windows environment is operated by the graphic user interface(GUI) realized using the Visual Basic Interpreter. The program provides calculation sheet of coils, weights and pressures in a MS-Excel file format as well as design drawing of the AHU in a Auto CAD file format idealized by AutoLISP. Those files of the commercial softwares make easier for a designer to transfer design results to the another company for bid via e-mail.

  • Squeeze film dampers(SFDs) are designed and analyzed for radial superconducting bearings. The designed SFDs are mounted on the superconductors submerged in liquid nitrogen such that the dampers should supply additional damping to the relatively underdamped superconducting bearing support. Basic theory of SFD with superconducting bearing are introduced. Rotordynamic simulations are provided to support the feasibility of the superconducting magnetic bearings mounted on SFDs for a horizontal flywheel energy storage system.

  • In order to verify the effectiveness of adding viscoelastic dampers to full-scale steel frame structure on the reduction of their seismic and wind response, a experimental work was carried out. First, The test was conducted on the VE dampers subjected to sinusoidal excitations under a variety of ambient temperatures, frequency, and the damper strain.
