The present study examined the role of dialogue journaling in Korean students' English writing development. Thirteen Korean middle school students participated in a five-week dialogue journal writing program. The participants' English writing skills before and after their dialogue journaling were compared in terms of holistic and analytical scores of their English essays. The study also examined the changes in the participants' language use, as manifested in their dialogue journals. The results indicated the positive influence of dialogue journal writing on the participants' English writing skills in the areas of content and lexical fluency. As for the linguistic evidence that related dialogue journaling to English writing development, the three patterns of change in language use emerged from the participants' dialogue journals: a) raised awareness on grammar conventions, b) raised awareness on discourse conventions, and c) increased depth and richness in idea development. There were also three unhelpful factors associated with little improvement of English writing: a) lack in basic writing skills, b) repetitive use of identical sentence patterns, and c) lack in grammatical and lexical awareness. Overall, the results suggested that dialogue journaling could facilitate Korean students' English writing development when it creates authentic communicative interactions between the teacher and students.

HEATCON은 80컬럼을 사용할 수 있는 APPLE II용으로 BASIC용어를 사용한 과도 열전도 해석 프로그램이며, 사용자와 대화식으로 되어 있어서 사용자가 열전도의 기본개념을 이해하고 있으면 별도의 설명서가 없어도 화면에 나타나는 지시를 따라서 사용할 수 있다. HEATCON은 개발후 마사츄세츠 대학교에서 열전달 과목을 수강하는 학생들에게 한 학기동안 시험적으로 사 용토록 하여 검토 되었으며 이때 발견된 문제점들이 모두 해결 되었다. 소프트웨어의 개발에서 이러한 시험사용을 통한 검토는 매우 중요하며, 개발자가 예상하지 못했던 문제점들이 발견되는 경우가 많이 발생한다.

DAVIC(Digital Audio Visual Council) 포럼은 상호호환성을 극대화 시키는 개방형 인터페이스 및 프로토콜을 표준화하여 대화형 디지털 오디오비쥬얼 서비스의 확산을 위해 1994년 설립되었다. 본 고에서는 DAVIC 포럼의 조직 및 임무, 표준화 수행체계 그리고 표준화 추진 실적와 향후 계획을 조사$\cdot$분석하고 주요 각국의 쟁점기술에 대한 입장을 고려한 우리나라의 대응전략을 기술하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how the opportunities of close emotional support and communication provided by child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful to the three subjects of early childhood education, children, teacher, and parents, and provide implications about how to utilize child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities in the field of education properly. According to the findings, first, to children, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as asecret time between them and their teacher, time that their teacher pays keen attention to them, and time to enhance confidence. Second, to teachers, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful as aspecial time to be with children, time to understand children, and time to reflect on their educational process and figure out proper teaching or supporting methods. Third, to parents, child-teacher dialogue journal writing activities are meaningful in a way in which they can understand moreabout their children and is a meaningful time to plan and provide proper care upon their children's wishes or needs.

DARBS는 저널베어링 및 구름베어링에 지지되어 있는 회전체-베어링계에 대한 동력학적 해석을 수행하는 프로그램이다. 해석에는 유한요소법(finite element method)을 이용하며 선회속도(whirl speed), 모우드 형성(mode shape), 임계속도(ciritical speed) 그리고 비동기 가진응답(asynchronous response)등에 대한 해석결과를 제공한다. 본 프로그램의 주된 특징은 람다 행렬(lambda matrices)의 개념을 도입하여 비동기 가진응답의 해석에 적용하 고, 베어링 상수와 자이로 효과와 같은 회전속도 의존성에 대하여 체계적인 접근방법을 사용했다는 점이다. 본 프로그램은 IBM PC 및 호환 기종에 적 합하도록 개발되었으며 기본적인 출력장치를 지원하는 S/W가 포함되어 있 다. 또한 대화식 데이타 입력과 메뉴처리방식을 채택하여 사용하기 편리하게 하였으며, 오류발생시 메세지가 나타나 오류수정을 용이하게 하였다.

우리는 일상적인 대화에서 '과학적'이라는 수식어를 '믿음직한', '체계적인', '참된' 등을 의미하도록 사용하는 경우가 많다 .다른 누구보다도 광고 제작자들은 이 사실을 잘 알고 있다. 그래서 우리는 '과학적으로 설계되고 만들어진 침대' 정도로는 부족해서 아예, '침대가 아니라 과학입니다'라는 식의 광고문구에 어느덧 익숙하게 되었다. 침대를 광고하는 것이 분명한데도 침대가 아니라는 이 역설적인 주장에는 그냥 적당히(\ulcorner) 나무를 깎고 용수철을 달아 침대를 만든 것이 아니라 수많은 경험적 연구와 객관적 사용 테스트를 거쳐서 가장 편안하게 잠을 잘 수 있도록 침대를 만들었음을 강조하려는 의도가 숨어있을 것이다.(중략)
