Marketing channel is recognized as one of the society systems which have the character of functional organization. These organizations are related to each other for specialized and cooperative work. Channel members in distribution channel are striving to accomplish exchange through reciprocal action. Thus channel members exercise their power to take better position in exchange. There will be struggling between members about satisfaction and conflict during this power exercise. Now a days, buyers use more harsh power as large retail firms are increasing. This phenomenon is occurring in the distribution channel. However, there will be different phenomenon in case of agricultural products. Not like industrial product suppliers, agricultural product suppliers have various supply channels and many agricultural products are seasonal. It has also unstable amount supplies. There should be differentiated marketing in agricultural products. Relatively weaker powered suppliers have to strengthen comparative factors and also have to be technically specialized through assessed experience in order to establish strong product sales chain. Making a brand of agricultural product would be also a good idea to increase the product comparability. Channel members need to be recognized their specialized functions in order to make balanced distribution channel. There have to be conversion of concept of relation between suppliers and buyers from subordinate relationship to cooperative relationship.

The worldwide sizes of container ships are rapidly increasing. The container ship size in 2005, which was about 9,200 TEU has increased to 24,000 TEU in recent times. In addition to the increase in the sizes of the container ships, the arrivals/departures of large container vessels to/from Korea have also increased. Hence, the necessity for reviewing safe passage of such vessels is emphasized. In the present study, a 24,000 TEU container vessel was used as a model ship to calculate the under-keel clearance (UKC) at Gadeok Channel through which vessels must pass to arrive at Busan New Port, in accordance with the Korean Port and Fishing Port Design Standards and Commentary. In addition, the maximum allowable speed that meets UKC standards was calculated using various squat formulas, whose results were then compared with the current speed limit standards. The analysis results show that Busan New Port requires 10% marginal water depth, and the squat that meets this requirement is 0.95 m. Gadeok Channel requires 15% marginal water depth, and the squat that meets this requirement is 1.78 m; in this case, the maximum allowable speed is calculated as 15 kts. Busan New Port has set the speed limit as 12 kts, which is higher than the calculated 11 kts. Thus, speed limit reconsideration is required in terms of safety. However, the set speed limit for Gadeok Channel is 12 kts, which is lower than the calculated 15 kts. Thus, additional considerations may be provided to increase the speed limits for smooth navigational passage of vessels. The present study, however, is constrained by the fact that it reflects only a limited number of elements in the UKC and allowable speed calculations; therefore, more accurate UKC and safe speed values can be suggested based on extended studies to this research.
In recent years, a large number of robots have been developed in several countries, and these robots have been built for the purpose to appeal to users by well designed human-robot interaction. In case of the robots developed so far, they show proper reactions only when there is a certain input. On the other hands, they cannot perform in a standby mode which means there is no input. In other words, if a robot does not make any motion in standby mode, users may feel that the robot is being turned-off or even out of work. Especially, the social service robots maintain the standby status after finishing a certain task. In this period of time, if the robots can make human-like behavioral patterns such like a person in help desk, then they are expected to make people feels that they are alive and is more likely to interact with them. It is said that even if there is no interaction with others or the environment, people normally reacts to internal or external stimuli which are created by themselves such as moving their eyes or bodies. In order to create robotic behavioral patterns for standby mode, we analyze the actual facial expression and behavior from people who are in neutral affective emotion based on ethnographic methodology and apply extracted characteristics to our robots. Moreover, by using the robots which can show those series of expression and action, our research needs to find that people can feel like they are alive.
The purpose of this study was to identify structural properties of C.B.D and to provide direction that required for the plan and its development by analyzing land use patterns and its characteristics in the center of the city. In this study, the future planning elements and detailed land use of Seoul was analyzed, in regard to the spatial structural hierarchy and the function of downtown, by investigation of its current urban spatial structure. First, the characteristic of the land-use for merchandising facilities is that it is developed from west to east along the Jong-ro, Myungdong and Namdaemun, it shows high rate of the facilities along the horizontal axis. The large market area on this district would be the reason to the high rate of mechandising facilities. Second, the characteristic of the land-use for business facilities is that it is highly rated on the area passing through the Sejong-ro and Seoul station. The analysis result of our investigation is that the projects executed by Seoul city such as 'downtown maintenance planning' and 'downtown recreation program' strengthened functions of business and merchandising and promoted downtown shopping, leisure, tourism functions resulting activation of nearby market place and evaluated as maintaing the centrality of downtown Seoul well.

This paper addresses an assessment model for selecting PL(Private Level) product companies. The proposed model extracts the weights of evaluation elements based on AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). These evaluation elements are from real-world instances in a domestic hyper market. Especially, the model points at food products which constitute a large portion of entire profits in the market. In this model, we first classify the 54 evaluation elements into 4 layers and secondly carry out a survey with relevant specialists based on them. We also estimate the weights of evaluation elements according to pairwise comparisons from the survey, and propose them as a quantitative alternative which can be applied in real-world problems. Finally, the pilot-study is conducted to compare the proposed model with the existing simple summation method. From this study, HACCP system assessment and Review(0.279281), Transportation(0.117706) and Fundamental law observance(0.066392) are presented as the key evaluation elements for selecting PL product companies. The proposed model facilitates the company selection among those candidate companies which is not easy to determine the superiority by reflecting the importance of evaluation elements.
In gas industries, the potential risks of serious accidents have been increased due to high technology application and process complexities. Especially, in case of gas-related accidents, the extent of demage is out of control since gas plants handle and produce combustible, flammable, explosive and toxic materials in large amounts. The characteristics of this kind of disaster is that accident frequency is low, while the impact of damage is high, extending to the neighboring residents, environment and related industries as well as employees involved. The hydrogen gases treated important things and it used the basic material of chemical plants and industries. Since 2000, this gas stood in the spotlight the substitution energy for reduction of the global warming in particular however it need to compress high pressure(more than 150 bar.g) and store by using the special cylinders due to their low molecular weight. And this gas led to many times the fire and explosion due to leak of it. To reduce these kinds of risks and accidents, it is necessary to improve the new safety management system through a risk management after technically evaluating potential hazards in this process. This study is to carry out the quantitative risk assesment for hydrogen filling plant which are very dangerous(fire and explosive) and using a basic materials of general industries. As a results of this risk assessment, identified the elements important for safety(EIS) and suggested the practical management tools and verified the reliability of this risk assessment model through case study of accident.
A derelict bridge called WoljungGyo was restored in Gyeongju, the capital city of ancient Silla. WoljungGyo was originally built in 760AD, and later rebuilt in 1280AD during the Goryeo Kingdom. The bridge lasted in working condition for at least 520 years. The bridge was uncovered to the remains of both abutments and four piers, with only one or two steps remaining. One of the foundation for piers showed evidence of partial settlement. The cause of the partial settlement is important for the successful restoration of the bridge so that an extensive investigation was carried out, which includes layer stratification by boring, 2-D stiffness profiling by surface-wave tests, and large scaled-plate load test for evaluating capacity. In addition to the field studies in the Woljunggyo bridge, 3-D finite element analysis was also conducted. Based on the results of the site investigation and the numerical analysis, it was concluded that the further ground improvement to build the piers was not necessary so that the gravels were placed and leveled underneath the existing pier stones to compensate partial settlement before the restoration.

In the flood of information, many consumers want to choose the style that is suitable for their sensibility, which is usefulness and need for personalized services have been steadily increasing. This study made a video of personalized internet shopping mall and then university students (N=170) who have been using the internet shopping mall were asked to experience this and the change in consumer response was measured. According to level of personalization, this study found difference of web-site evaluation, satisfaction/internet behavior and quality evaluations of products. With regard to preferred types of internet shopping malls and the number of access, the difference was investigated. The results are as follows. First, subjects who experienced internet shopping mall of active personalization showed higher level of active personalization. Level of passive personalization differed depending on preferred types of internet shopping malls, for example, people who prefer online apparel shopping mall were low but people who prefer complex big shopping mall and social commerce were high. Second, after experiencing internet shopping mall of active personalization, satisfaction/internet behavior and quality evaluations of products did not change but passive personalization decreased and active personalization and web-site evaluation increased. Third, the number of access to internet shopping mall positively correlated with satisfaction/internet behavior and web-site evaluation, on the other hand, active personalization negatively correlated with satisfaction/internet behavior and web-site evaluation.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the new strategies for West coast ports, especially Mokpo Port development. This paper also analyzes the recently evolving change of shipping environment such as upsizing of vessels, horizontal and vertical integration strategies in the liner shipping industries through the mergers and acquisitions or strategic alliances, establishment of dedicated terminal and surging bunker charge. With shipping environment is rapidly changing, we examine how to cope with the current situation and suggest the solutions how to tackle shippers' and shipping companies' request. As a result of an empirical study, we found out that Mokpo Port suffers from the shortage of container cargo, container imbalance, insufficient forwarders and inland trucking service providers and hinterland transportation network system. With these obstacles settled, the number of container cargo can be induced to Mokpo Port and the regular container services between Mokpo and Chinese ports and Japanese ports loops were found to be competitive.
In Korea, with a dramatic growth of Super Supermarket (SSM) in the wake of opening up the retail market and diversifying distribution, the consumer's purchase behavior about food and consumer goods changed. In order to investigate this change, this study was carried out through collecting and analyzing questionnaires from 190 men and women consumers at ages between twenties and sixties, living in Ulsan and Pusan. The result suggested that in overall features, men were mainly affected by design factors such as packaging design, color, and product design, whereas women were mainly affected by cost factors such as price and configuration. As for product properties, it was suggested that women put importance on the price concerning ail products, but men didn't. In addition, it was identified that women were impressed by advertisements on TV, and men and women both often purchased the product after confirming its information among the displayed products. Considering these results, we concluded that for a product whose main target is men in particular, the product development should focus on design. Moreover, as the packaging design and display affect on both men and women as important factors, hereafter a complementary study on the effects of the packaging design and display of manufacturers related to the products in this study is to be proceeded with greater interest.
