대형 디젤엔진의 진동 분석과 저감 (Vibration Analysis and Reduction for Large-scale Diesel Engines)

  • 디젤엔진은 기동 정지 시간이 빠르고 내구성과 신뢰성이 높아 대용량 발전소의 비상 발전기뿐 아니라 제한된 도서지역의 발전용으로 유용하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 디젤엔진에 고진동이 발생될 경우 엔진 구조물 자체의 손상뿐 아니라 운전 신뢰성을 저해하는 요소가 될 수 있다. 본 논문은 고진동으로 인하여 수년간 출력을 감발하여 운전되었던 대형 발전용 디젤엔진의 고 진동 원인을 분석하기 위하여 수행한 시험 및 해석과 대책 수립에 대하여 기술하였다. 진동의 원인으로는 발전기 축의 비틀림 가진으로 인한 엔진 구조물의 공진으로 분석되었으며 수립된 대책을 시뮬레이션 후 실제 발전소에 적용하여 양호한 진동 저감 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Recently, with respect to an increase of energy consumption, many countries have tried to develop alternative fuels. In the United States, less than 10 percent of motor fuels will be displaced by alternative fuels by year 2010, with about 25 percent of the replacement fuels from renewable resources. But the level of exhaust gas is not decreased to the result of an increase of diesel vehicles. Moreover, emission regulations are being intensified by advanced countries such as America and Europe. Because Biodiesel is similar to diesel fuel, it is essential to judge the environmental and health effects deriving from the use of Biodiesel in diesel engine. Therefore, this research could be conformed whether both Biodiesel 20% and Biodiesel 100% are influenced on emission according to sulfur contents by applying DOC. As a result of using the Biodiesel, this research could be conformed though Nox was increased, CO, HC and PM were decreased, and also estimated to compare diesel fuel with the Biodiesel in accordance with engine performance and emission characteristics.

  • To develop a low emission engine, it is necessary to obtain some better quality of automotive fuels. Sulfur in fuel is transformed to sulfate-laden PM as DOC is applied. Therefore, it necessary to provide low sulfur fuels before DOC is applied. According to the specification of test fuels, flash point, distillation 90%, cetane index are improved but viscosity is decreased in the process of desulfurization. Excessively reduced sulfur may cause to decrease lubricity of fuel and engine performance in fuel injection system. Therefore, this research was emphasized how the application of Bio-diesel affects on the emission characteristics and engine performance under the circumstance of ULSD and DOC.

전자제어 EGR을 사용한 대형디젤기관의 배출가스연구 (An Exhaust Gas Study of HD Diesel Engine with the Electronic control EGR)

  • Modem after-treatment technology has been developed variously in order to decrease exhausted emission in diesel engine. However, it seems very difficult to comply with updated stringent emission standards. Specially, it has been many years that exhaust gas from gasoline automobile rather than from diesel is the major object concerned by Korea and other countries, and it is strongly required on the reduction techniques on harmful NOx and PM among those compositions. Thus, this research focused on the electronic control EGR and the target for this research is heavy-duty turbo-diesel engine with EGR technology(High pressure route and low pressure route system).

LPL EGR System 적용 대형 디젤엔진의 EURO-5 NOx 규제대응에 관한 연구 (Study on Low Pressure Loop EGR System for Heavy-duty Diesel Engine to Meet EURO-5 NOx Regulation)

  • Recently, many small and medium size diesel vehicles have been equipped with turbocharger and EGR system to get high performance and reduce $NO_x$ emissions but its application to heavy-duty diesel engine is not common yet. In this work, the simulation model for EURO-3 engine was developed using WAVE and then its performance and emission level were verified by comparing with experimental results. The possibility of current EURO-3 engine equipped with LPL EGR system which would be satisfied the EURO-5 regulation are examined. ESC 13 mode was chosen as the primary engine test mode, and the injection timing and fuel quantity were changed to compensate the lost engine performance caused by EGR. The system developed in this study shows that the current EURO-3 engine could satisfy EURO-5 $NO_x$ regulation by applying LPL EGR.
