This study investigated the relationship between mothers'psychological life position and children's social-emotional development. Subject consisted of 303 children and their mothers enrolled in preschool at Seoul. A sample of mothers completed the questionnaire and teachers rated the social-emotional development instrument. The results showed that children's social-emotional development differed according to their gender and age. And there were differences between mothers'psychological life position as a function of educational level and employment status. Mothers'psychological life position was related to their children's social-emotional development.

The purpose of this study is to develop a computer software titled "Compare & Evaluation Program for Household Consumption". This software is developed in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. For the data of this program, the family Income and Expenditure Survey(1998) produced by the National Statistical Office in Korea is used. This program compares income and consumption expenditure for each household with those for standard household according to income level and family life cycle. This program gives information and suggestion for household consumers to manage rational household consumption. Also this study investigates validity and usefulness of the software program by interviewing 20 households used this program.

An education program for parents has been developed in order to meet the needs of those who have problems in rearing their children. The program has been applied two times to a middle size group of parents who live in the urban and the country. The effectiveness of the program has been evaluated by taking pre- and post-tests. The test results suggest that the program has been effective in improving the parent's knowledge on all of the following areas, such as, developmental characteristics, individual traits, learning attitudes cultivation, sex education, locus of self control, parenting behavior and communication skills.

The purpose of this study was to investigate causal relation and the influence of socially reponsible atitude and behavior of consumer. In an analysis of causal effect on the socially responsible attitude and behavior of consumer, the most influential variables on the socially responsible behavior of consumer was the socially responsible attitude. And house pattern, altruism, liberalism, dogmatism, perceived consumer effectiveness, environmental concern, faith on the consumer regulation policy, and neutral information had effect on the socially responsible behavior of consumer directly and indirectly.

지금까지 일반적으로 재화의 소비자 수요에 관한 연구가 써비스의 소비자 수요에 관한 연구보다 강조되어 온 경향이 있으나 급증하는 써비의 분야의 중요성에 비추어 볼 때, 가계의 가계생산 시간절약에 기여할수 있는 써비스 지출에 영향을 미치는 소득, 가계의 경제적.사회적 구조 그리고 여성의 노동시장 참여증가의 효과를 연구하는 것은 매우 필요한 일이라 생각된다. 본연구의 결과는 가계 및 개인을 포함하는 소비자 행동의 이해증진을 통해서 성공적인 마아케팅 전략의 개발을 도모하는 관련 써비스 업계와 소비자 행동과 가계의 소비행태에 관심이 있는 소비자 및 가계 경제학자들에게 유용한 정보를 제공할 것이다. 아울러, 본연구는 수용 함수 및 탄력성의 측정을 통해서 각 써비스의 특성을 규명하는데 유용한 정보를 제공함으로 써비스 관련 공공정책의 수립에 도움을 줄수 있을것이다.

This study was to examine the factors effecting the role conflicts of dual-earner couples. The sample consisted of 168 husbands and wives living in Pusan. The findings of this study were as follows; 1. Husbands' role conflicts were negatively related to cohesion wives' role conflicts were negatively related to adaptability. 2. Husbands' role conflicts were significantly affected by spouses' support time spent at work cohesion and the youngest child age. 3. Wives' role conflicts were significantly affected by spouses' support adaptability time spent at work and the degree of husbands' support, adaptability time spent at work and the degree of husbands' housework participation.

The Purpose of this study is to investigate the father's role of childrearing appeared in Korean central daily newspapers. The method used for this study is the content analysis of the articles related with childrearing in Dong-a ilbo and Cho-seun ilbo from 1920's to 1970's. It is found that the articles dealt with childrearing were concerned on childrearing practices conformable with social change for industrial capitalization during twentieth century of Korea. These articles dealt with problems of practices in nurturing, teaching, diciplining and interfacing between home and institutional education of school. It is found that the father's role of childrearing were gender-nonspecipic.

A family life education program for caregiving families has been developed in order to help mitigate burden of those who provide caregiving for their older parents and to meet the needs of both caregiving families and parents. The program has been applied to a small group of people who have at least one living older parent. The effectiveness of the program has been evaluated by taking one pre-test and two post-tests. The test results suggest that the program has been effective in improving participants' knowledge on aging process, locus of self control, and relationships with parents.

The study was designed to examine the relationship between shyness and social behaviors such as interpersonal adjustment and peer acceptance. The subjects were 435 sixth-graders(221 boys and 214 girls) and their mothers and teachers. They completed questionnaires to rate the behavioral characteristics of the children. The main results showed that 1) shyness, interpersonal adjustment, and peer acceptance varied little as a function of sex and birth order of children, and 2) shyness was related negatively both to interpersonal adjustment and to peer acceptance.

The purpose of this review is to explore the relevance of reminiscent behavior for the elderly individual's well-being. Various concept and prevalence of reminiscence and themes of reminiscence is investigated. Then the empirical evidence concerning the motive, pattern and the function of reminiscent behavior is reviewed. Psychological determinism, social contextualism, life course perspective are described. Since many transitions and changes are socially organized and differ strongly for social categories, life course perspective can contribute to analysis of both similarity and variation in elderly reminiscent behavior. After all it is concluded that there is evidence of reminiscent behavior can be a enhancing mediator for the elderly individual's well-being.
