Nonparametric tests using optimal weights for umbrella alternatives in a randomized block design (확률화 블럭 계획법에서 최적 가중치를 이용한 우산형 대립가설의 비모수검정법)

  • In this paper we propose nonparametric tests using optimal weights for umbrella alternatives in a randomized block design. We obtain the optimal weights by maximizing the asymptotic relative efficiency of the proposed test statistics with respect to Mack and Wolf(1981) type test statistic, and investigate asymptotic relative efficiencies of the proposed test statistics using these optimal weights relative to Mack and Wolfe type statistics and linear rank statistic. Throughout simulations for small samples, the proposed test statistic has good powers rather than the other two tests when the block sizes are different.

  • A nonparametric test for the parallelisim of k regression lines against ordered alternatives is proposed. The test statistic is weighted Jonckheere-type statistic applied to slope estimators obtained from each lines. The distribution of the proposed test statistic is asymptotically distribution-free. From the viewpoint of efficiencies, the proposed test desirable properties and is more efficient than the other nonparametric tests.

Genetic Variation of Several Isoenzymes in Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis (반송(Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis)의 몇 가지 동위효소(同位酵素)의 유전변이(遺傳變異))

  • Isozyme variations in 4 enzyme systems in Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis in 31 individual trees collected throughout the country were studied by starch gel electrophoresis using haploid megagametophyte tissue to compare with those of Pinus densiflora. A minimum of 7 loci were found to code for isozymes of the enzyme systems. No variation was found at locus GOT-A; at the remaining 6 variable loci(GDH-A, GOT-B, GOT-C, IDH-A, LAP-,A, LAP-B) and 2 to 4 alleles were identified. We could not find any marker alleles to distinguish Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis from Pinus densiflora at the isozymes studied here. Allele frequency distributions at each loci were almost all the same as those of P. densiflora. The percentage of polymorphic loci(99% level), the number of alleles per locus, the observed and expected heterozygosities were 85.7, 2.3, 0.165 and 0.186%, respectively. The level of genetic diversity in Pinus densiflora for. multicaulis seemed to be less than that of P. densiflora.

  • To find ideal leaf types for soybean breeding program, we examined the relationships among leaf anatomical and morphological characteristics and $\textrm{CO}_2$ assimilation on the different leaflet shape of soybean (Glycine max). In anatomical characters of leaf, palisade and spongy cells were thicker in both small seed cultivars with narrow leaflet and large seed cultivars with wide leaflet than others. $\textrm{CO}_2$ uptake per plant and leaf thickness were significantly associated with seed yield per plant, showing difference among the soybean cultivars. Although the leaf area was lower for narrow leaflet cultivars, which had a significantly higher photosynthetic rate per plant comparable to the wide leaflet cultivars.
