Applying Strategy Group Concept to Program Providers(PP) Industry (PP 산업에 대한 전략집단 개념의 적용)

  • Using strategy group theory, this thesis reviewed the status of program providers analysis and the performances it has made so far, and sought measures to improve its limitations. The constraint of program providers analysis based on existing concept of strategy group is that the strategy group was derived from the statistics, and therefore only applied the characteristics of program provider's channels to the analysis, on account of which a systematic and sophisticated classification as well as generalization of strategy or strategy group were hard to obtain. Moreover, the PP strategy variables used to be selected at the firm level and business level, and in relation with resource and competition scope. In future, more appropriate procedure should be followed to obtain objectivity in selecting variables to avoid controversy over intentionality. The measures in this thesis to improve the study of PP strategy group can be summarized as follows: firstly analysis of variables for strategy group classification should be made to single out key variables which are to be classification criteria. Secondly, variables are to be cross-checked by industry experts to increase generalizability. Thirdly, proxy variables should be sublated, and strategy group model which enables the reflection of subsistent properties of PP industry, and the cognitive perception of the executives(CEO) needs to be established. Fourthly, the concepts of mobility barrier and isolating mechanism should be applied to the classification criteria of strategy group to reveal the gap of performance between different strategy groups. Lastly, chronicle study on PP strategy group should be done to perceive the dynamic changes of PP strategy group.

고고학 유적지에서 적용 가능한 농경 지시자료와 한반도의 농경활동

  • 제4기 만빙기에서 후빙기 사이의 기후변화는 인류문명에 있어 정착생활 및 농경활동과 더불어 잉여생산물 저장을 위한 토기제작 등과 같은 생활상의 변화를 가져 온 계기가 되었다(F.M. Chambers, 1993; Guoyu Ren, 1998; Mori Y, 2002; Martin Bell et al., 2004). 식물화석, 화분, 식물규소체 등의 대리자료(proxy data)를 이용하여 이시기의 식생환경을 밝히는 것은 고생태복원분야 뿐 아니라 당시의 환경변수들 을 추정하여 인간활동에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지에 대한 중요한 정보를 제공해준다. 그러나 홀로세 초기 환경은 인간에게 지대한 영향을 미쳤으나 후기로 올수록 인간 스스로가 환경을 변화시키는 주체가 되었다(Martin Bell et al., 2004). Meyer&Turner(1994)는 인간활동이 자연적인 영향보다 생물구에 시계열적인 변화를 가져왔다고 하였으며, R.B Singh(1995)는 현재뿐 아니라 과거까지 다양한 인위 적인 간섭이 전지구적인 환경변화를 야기 시키는 주된 원인이라고 하였다. 따라서 환경을 복원한다는 것은 바로 그 지역을 생활 터전으로 삼았던 당시 선사인들의 생활상을 간접적으로 들여다 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공해준다. 현재까지 국내 고고학 유적지에서 이루어진 대부분의 발굴조사는 유물과 유구를 토대로 당시 선사인의 생활상을 밝히는데 중점을 두었으나 최근 인간과 영향을 주고 받았을 환경에 관심을 갖고 이를 통해 역으로 인간활동을 추적하려는 다수의 연구들이 제4기학, 고고학, 지리학, 인류학, 생물학, 농학, 기후학 등 다양한 분야에서 학제간 연구로 진행되고 있다(황상일 등, 1999; 조현종, 2000; 김주용 등, 2002; 최정민, 2004; 윤순옥 등, 2005). 그러나 이러한 연구에 있어서 어떠한 대리자료(proxy data)를 어떻게 고고학 유적지에 적절하게 적용시킬 것인지 대리자료의 조성변화나 값의 해석에 있어서 기후인자와 인간영향을 어떻게 분리해 낼 것인지에 대한 문제점이 남는다. 예를 들어 화분분석의 경우 1차적인 환경변화에 따른 식생조성변화를 반영한다. 인간이 활발한 농경활동을 하게 되면서 주변식생을 제거하게 되고, 제거된 나대지에는 재배작물과 잡초들이 자라게 된다. 그리고 이들 화분은 주변 소택지에 퇴적물과 함께 퇴적되어 화분분석 결과 벼과(科)(Gramineae)와 문화지표수종이라 부르는 여뀌속(屬)(Persicaria), 국화과(科)(Composite), 쑥속(屬)(Artemisia), 쐐기풀속(屬)(Urtica) 등의 화분에 있어 확연한 조성변화를 보여준다. 그러나 화분을 이용한 분석은 토탄층이나 유기질 퇴적물이라는 한정된 토양에서만 분석이 가능하며, 조성변화에 있어서 역시 기후와 인간활동의 영향 모두를 반영하기 때문에 이를 구분해 주는 명확한 기준이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 다양한 대리자료 중 고고학 유적지에 적용 가능한 동식물 화석 및 미화석, 지리, 지질학적 자료에 어떠한 것들을 적용할 수 있는지를 살피고, 몇 가지 대리자료를 중심으로 선사인의 농경활동에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

Heterogeneity of Workers and the Entry into Self-employment - Focusing on the Entry of Wage Workers into Self-Employment - (근로자의 이질성과 자영업 선택에 관한 실증분석 - 임금근로에서 자영업으로의 진입을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examines how the unobserved heterogeneity of workers, measured by residuals of the wage equation, affects the entry into self-employment using KLIPS 1998-2008. Following Joona and Wadensjo(2013), we treat the residuals as unobserved ability and find that both workers with higher and lower ability are more likely to become self-employed. However, this U-Shape relationship no longer holds when the sample is divided into males and females. The study also finds that the relationship between ability and entry into self-employment has changed over time, and that ability is positively associated with the performance of self-employed.

  • In order to implement SGR in Korea, it is necessary to analyse the factors affecting the increase of Korea Medical Insurance Cost. GDP and MEI may substitute the diverse factors affecting the Medical Cost Uprise. In this article, the GDP and MEI influence on the rates of fee schedule is measured when we implement SGR System in Korea. The various cases are made to analyse the rates of fee change. In Korea, if we implement the SGR system successfully. we should make a considerate formula using GDP and MEI because the rate of change in GDP and MEI is much more bigger than that of U.S.

The Effect of Firm's Market Power on Job Creation in Korea (사업체의 시장지배력이 일자리 창출에 미치는 효과)

  • This paper examines the effect of the market power of firms in the product market on job creation, job destruction and net job growth. It uses the reconstructed establishment data in the Korean Annual Mining and Manufacturing Survey between 1982 and 2002. This paper shows that job creation has continuously declined since the late 1980s and the decline is common for both market-dominant and competitive firms. The effect of market dominance on job creation is negative, controlling the firm-characteristics variables such as firm size and firm age.

Employment Structure and the Ratio of Downsized Workforce (고용구조와 정리해고·명예퇴직의 비율)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate determinants of firms' workforce reduction ratio in Korea, utilizing a dataset surveyed by Korea Labor Institute in 1999. We hypothesize that firms' employment structure has an effect on their workforce reduction ratio. Our findings indicate that the ratio of the layoffs and/or the buyouts is higher, as the average tenure of employees is longer. The findings also indicate that the unionization as a proxy variable for the intensity of the seniority-based pay moderates positively the effect of employees' tenure on the workforce reduction ratio, implying that the more seniority-based the pay system is, the higher positive effect the average tenure of employees has on the workforce reduction ratio.

Height Premium in the Korean Labor Market (한국 노동시장에서의 신장 프리미엄)

  • We find that there is the height premium in the Korean labor market. The wage increases by 1.5% with a centimeter increase of height among male workers of ages 30-49. This estimate is barely affected by family backgrounds such as a worker's father's education or occupation. It is rejected that a worker's height is a proxy variable for his health, which increases his wage. The height premium is unrelated with obesity. It is not also supported that a worker's height affects his wage through his occupational choice. We partly confirm that a worker's height affects his wage through his educational choice. The estimated height premium of 30's in Korea is comparable to that of age 33 in Great Britain.

Father's Education and Inequality in Korean Labor Market (아버지 학력과 노동시장 불평등)

  • In this paper, I examine the impacts of father's education, a proxy for family wealth and income, on the individual's education, occupational choice and labor force status. I find that father's education influences the level of individual educational investment and occupational choices directly, whose findings are quite different from those of Blau and Duncan(l967) and Phang and Kim(2000). I also find that father's higher level of education induces an individual to withdraw from the labor force, which results in erosion of inequality among family. Therefore I argue that the inheritance of inequality in family wealth tends to persist, while the erosion of inequality proceeds, as well.

The Association between Children's and Mother's Ambulatory Care Utilization (어린이의 의료이용과 엄마의 의료이용간의 관계)

  • Using data from the Korean National Health Survey conducted in the years 1989 and 1992, child and maternal ambulatory care utilization patterns were compared. Data from 3,002 families from the 1989 survey and 1,523 families from the 1992 survey which have a child 0-4 years old and mother in the same family were selected and used for the analysis. The results indicate that child medical utilization is closely accociated with maternal medical utilization, as measured by the number of visits to medical facilities. Maternal use appears to be a more powerful predictor of child use than any other family and maternal variables. These results confirm the result of the previous localized studies and suggest that intervention directed at the mother may be effective in ensuring equitable and efficient use of ambulatory services by childeren.

  • 지구온난화와 하천환경의 변화로 수질 오염이 심각해지고 녹조 현상 등의 피해가 증가하고 있다. 특히, 기후변화로 인해 온도와 강우량의 변동성이 동시에 증가하고 있어 하천의 수환경 관리측면에서 어려움이 증가하고 있다. 최근 하천 개발 사업으로 인한 인공 구조물 축조로 하천의 오염도 변화는 중요한 논점으로 대두되었으며, 그에 따라 정확한 수질 전망이 요구되고 있다. 녹조평가에 있어 주요 대리변수(proxy variable)로 chlorophyll-a(Chl-a)가 사용되고 있지만, Chl-a는 규조류와 남조류(cyanobacteria) 모두에서 발견되는 지표로서, 녹조의 유해성을 Chl-a 수질 지표만을 사용하여 판단하기에는 한계가 있다. Chl-a뿐만 아니라 수질에 대한 유량, 온도, 영양염류 등의 영향 또한 기존 연구에서 밝혀진 바 있다. 하지만 기존의 물리기반의 결정론적모형은 수질의 추계학적(stochastic) 특성을 반영하는데 제한적이며, 다양한 수문기상학적 조건을 고려한 시나리오 기반의 분석을 수행하는데 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 특정 지점의 보 건설 이후 수문기상 자료를 이용하여 유해 남조류 개체수와 관계있는 수문기상학적 요인을 평가하고 최종적으로 Bayesian Poisson Regression 기반의 중·장기 녹조 예측 모형을 개발하였으며, 해설결과에 대한 불확실성 정보도 제공할 수 있도록 하였다.
