Characteristics of Technological Innovation and Methods for Innovation Capability in Daegu-Gyeongbuk's Mobile Industry (대구.경북 모바일산업의 기술혁신 특성 및 혁신역량 제고방안)

  • This study aims to suggest methods for improving innovation capability in Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry. Before offering suggestions, it analyzes the characteristics of technological innovation based on the mobile industry's value chain in Daegu-Gyeongbuk in relation to R&D workforce, R&D expenditures, and R&D networks. Support for R&D workforce in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry is concentrated in the mobile device and contents sectors. In addition, it is difficult for companies to finance R&D expenditures because most are SMEs, except for some large enterprises in the mobile device sector. R&D networks are structured mainly inside of companies, and linkages among universities, research institutes, and supporting institutes are weak in all sectors. To strengthen the innovation capability in Daegu-Gyeongbuk's mobile industry, therefore, human resource projects should be dispersed, and financial support should also be spread across value chain sectors rather than concentrated. Aside from this, a place for industry, academia, institutes, and government to build and enhance innovative networks should be created in all sectors.

Semantic Structure Represented in College Presidents' Welcome Greetings Using Network Analysis : Daegu & Gyeongbuk Provinces (연결망 분석을 활용한 대학 총장 인사말의 의미론적 구조: 대구·경북 지역을 중심으로)

  • This study examined a semantic relationship expressed in college presidents' welcome greetings in order to explore the promotion strategies and future direction of universities in Daegu & Gyeongbuk provinces in South Korea. Greetings were collected from university websites as of September, 2020. According to word frequency analysis, "everyone," "welcome," and "visiting" were mostly used in the headlines. In the body texts, "college" and "education" were frequently paired. While the two- & three-year colleges focus on industrial and technical capabilities, four-year universities tend to emphasize educational excellence and academic research performance. This study is valuable in that it understands the direction that universities in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province put forward amid the decreasing school-age population and the changing social environment.

  • The POCT (point-of-care test) sensing that has been a fast-developing field is expected to be a next generation technology in health care. The POCT sensors for the detection of proteins, small molecules and especially nucleic acids have lately attracted considerable attention. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the POCT methods are required to follow the ASSURED guidelines (Affordable, Sensitive, Specific, User- friendly, Robust and rapid, Equipment-free, Deliverable to all people who need the test). Recently, several CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) based diagnostic techniques using the sensitive gene recognition function of CRISPR have been reported. CRISPR/Cas (Cas, CRISPR associated protein) systems based detection technology is the most innovative gene analysis technology that is following the ASSURED guidelines. It is being re-emerged as a powerful diagnostic tool that can detect nucleic acids due to its characteristics that enable rapid, sensitive and specific analyses of nucleic acid. The first CRISPR-based diagnosis begins with the discovery of the additional function of Cas13a. The enzymatic cleavage occurs when the conjugate of Cas protein and CRISPR RNA (crRNA) detect a specific complementary sequence of the target sequence. Enzymatic cleavage occurs on not only the target sequence, but also all surrounding non-target single-stranded RNAs. This discovery was immediately utilized as a biosensor, and numerous sensor studies using CRISPR have been reported since then. In this review, the concept of CRISPR, the characteristics of the Cas protein required for CRISPR diagnosis, the current research trends of CRISPR diagnostic technology, and some aspects to be improved in the future are covered.

Big Data Analysis on Daegu-Gyeongbuk Administrative Integration (대구·경북 행정통합에 대한 빅데이터 분석)

  • The study examines public attitude and reaction regarding administrative integration in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area. Specifically, it employs social big data including textual comments on online news articles and YouTube video clips. The collected data are analyzed in order to compare two periods, that is, before and after the inauguration of the Public Opinion Committee for One Daegu-Gyeongbuk. As a result, we have found that people's favorable response to administrative integration has gradually increased since the launch of the Committee. However, it still lacks specific administrative procedures and discussion topics among the frequently used words in the collected data. Thus, the Committee needs to provide a variety of information and materials related to administrative integration.

A Rational Design of Coin-type Lithium-metal Full Cell for Academic Research (차세대 리튬 금속 전지 연구 및 개발을 위한 코인형 전지의 효율적 설계)

  • Coin cell is a basic testing platform for battery research, discovering new materials and concepts, and contributing to fundamental research on next-generation batteries. Li metal batteries (LMBs) are promising since a high energy density (~500 Wh kg-1) is deliverable far beyond Li-ion. However, Li dendrite-triggered volume fluctuation and high surface cause severe deterioration of performance. Given that such drawbacks are strongly dependent on the cell parameters and structure, such as the amount of electrolyte, Li thickness, and internal pressure, reliable Li metal coin cell testing is challenging. For the LMB-specialized coin cell testing platform, this study suggests the optimal coin cell structure that secures performance and reproducibility of LMBs under stringent conditions, such as lean electrolyte, high mass loading of NMC cathode, and thinner Li use. By controlling the cathode/anode (C/A) area ratio closer to 1.0, the inactive space was minimized, mitigating the cell degradation. The quantification and imaging of inner cell pressure elucidated that the uniformity of the pressure is a crucial matter to improving performance reliability. The LMB coin cells exhibit better cycling retention and reproducibility under higher (0.6 MPa → 2.13 MPa) and uniform (standard deviation: 0.43 → 0.16) stack pressure through the changes in internal parts and introducing a flexible polymer (PDMS) film.

  • The goal of this paper is to get the result of the forecasting for the numbers of a high-school graduate by a moving average method and the statistical analysis for numbers of the limit of matriculation on the most colleges and universities in Daegu city and Gyoungbook until 2026 year. Recently, the decrease of the number of a high-school graduate have influences on the number of limit matriculation. The future of most colleges and universities in Daegu city and Gyoungbook is hanging in the balance after the crisis of the serious decrease of the number of a high-school graduate until 2026 year.

  • Under the effectuation of Green growth from last year, It was surveyed in this study that how recognize of local government and companies in Dae-gu and Kyoung-buk Area. For this purpose, in order to see the present situation, the perception and influence to the Green growth was surveyed and analyzed. The result was that local government and companies were big differences in many items between the compared companies which are different. On the basis of this analysis, It was suggested what and how the companies and the government have to do in order to improve the perception of Green growth and make a new business chances.

  • Early photography history of Daegu, Gyeongbuk Province, Gyebok Choi were taken a lots of prizes of famous contest and known to the nationwide in 1930's and then his photos became an example of salon photography. And his documents of Mt. Baekdu & Dokdo in 1940's was the outcome of self-consciousness. Wangsam Koo proposed the realism of the photo. He saw, the base of photos should be reflected the lives of people of the times and the characteristics of the period, and he had great influence to the history of Korea photography with his own unique vision. These photos and theories accomplished a photo aesthetic to Korea photo history in 1940's. Besides it had been the national spirit at Youngnam province in the early 20th century.

  • 최근 스마트폰 사용의 활성화로, 스마트폰 기반의 통신네트워크를 이용하는 IT 기술들과 타 산업과의 융합 산업의 범위가 확대되고 있다. 또한 스마트폰을 사용하는 사용자들에게 더 나은 삶의 질을 제공하기 위하여, 스마트폰-앱에 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 대형 행사장과 같은 많은 인원이 모이는 곳에서 인원을 통제하거나 다양한 서비스를 제공하는데 어려움이 많이 발생하는데, 스마트폰 앱 설계 및 개발을 통하여 이러한 어려움을 해결하고자 한다. 특히, 증강현실 기술을 이용하여 네트워크 기반의 예약시스템 및 이의 운용방법에 대해서 기술하고, 실제 스마트폰 앱 개발에 앞서, 사전 프로토타이핑을 통해서 시스템을 설계하고 개발하는 방법을 제공하고자 한다.

  • Automotive Radar Systems are currently under development for various applications to increase accuracy and reliability. The target tracking is most important in single or multiple target environments for accuracy. The tracking algorithm provides smoothed and predicted data for target position and velocity(Doppler). To this end, the fixed gain filter(${\alpha}{\beta}$ filter, ${\alpha}{\beta}{\gamma}$ filter) and dynamic filter(Kalman filter, Singer-Kalman filter, etc) are commonly used. Gating is used to decide whether an observation is assigned to an existing track or new track. Gating algorithms are normally based on computing a statistical error distance between an observation and prediction. The data association takes the observation-to-track pairings that satisfied gating and determines which observation-to-track assignment will actually be made. For data association, NNPDA(Nearest Neighbor Probabilistic Data Association) algorithm is proposed. In this paper, we designed a target tracking system developed for an Automotive Radar System. We show the experimental results of the 77GHz FMCW radar sensor on the roads. Four tracking algorithms(${\alpha}{\beta}$ filter, ${\alpha}{\beta}{\gamma}$ filter, 2nd order Kalman filter, Singer-Kalman filter) have been compared and analyzed to evaluate the performance in test scenario.
