Research of private landscape architecture of the Tang Era in ancient China -based on excavated excellent articles and a book <洛陽名園記> called Nakyangmyungwonki- (중국 고대 당대(唐代) 민간 조경[사가원림(私家圓林)] 연구 - 출토된 명기(明器)와 낙양명원기를 중심으로 -)

  • Through the excavated excellent articles of the Tang era, we have considered the building techniques and styles of a square pavilion, an octagonal pavilion, a miniature hill, a pond, etc., could read building techniques of the scenic structures on ancient literatures including records and additionally about their poetical life at that time and inquired into the arrangement, structure, building techniques, etc. of a miniature hill, a pond, a pavilion, a flowerplant, etc., on Nakyangmyungwonki. Thus, under the research on the private landscape architecture, especially the nobility gardening, around excavated excellent articles and literatures, 'A miniature hill(假山) and a pond for landscaping views formed the center of a garden, and additionally a pavilion was built and flowerplants were set. The miniature hill of laying stones and having a carven, steeping, stratifying, looking like dyed green and birds' singing among hills and eating water on the lakeshore${\ldots}$' was expressed. The pond of digging in the ground and conducting water had its water system developed. There were several kinds of pavilions such as 廳, 堂, 館, 亭, 臺, 樓, 閣, 榭, etc. As examples of landscaping plants, there were a bamboo, a lotus flower, a peony, aromatic trees a pine, a korean spindle tree, a big cone pine, an empress tree, a wild walnut, a peach, a plum, a Japanese apricot tree, an apricot tree, a chrysanthemum, arrowroot vines, etc. Thus, the garden of the Tang era, abundant, diverse and excellent, enjoyed the prime of the period of prosperity. Due to cultural exchange, it is supposed that the period of united Shilla of the same age would meet with the period of prosperity in the developmental history of Korea landscape, based on the nobility garden system '4 different dwelling-houses every season on a record "四節游宅"'.

  • 대사증후군이란 비만, 당대사이상, 고혈압 및 이상지질혈증과 같은 다양한 대사이상이 한 개인에게 중복되어 나타나는 상태를 지칭하는 것이다. 그러므로 대사증후군도 생활 습관병 중의 하나라고 생각할 수 있다. 대사증후군을 막을 수 있는 가장 경제적이면서도 효육적인 방법으로는 적절한 운동과 식사요법이라는 건강한 생활습관을 유지하여 적정한 체중을 유지하는 기초적인 건강수칙을 실천하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다.

  • The effects of ethanol on the specific rates of growth and ethanol production were found to be threshold and linear inhibition. The degree of inhibition was more apparent on the specific growth rate while ethanol production was continued even the growth was ceased. The nature of uncoupling between the growth (anabolism) and ethanol production (catabolism) was clearly observed under high concentration of ethanol. The uncoupling indicated that ethanol concentration plays a great role in maintenance energy coefficient.

  • The effects of foliar spray of Kinetin (6-Furfurylaminopurine) on the growth of mulberry tree and the metabolic activities in the leaves were measured. The results of this experimented are summarized as follows: 1. Foliar application of Kinetin was effective in increasing of leaf area, the fresh and dry weight of the leaves, the length and diameter of shoots. 2. Chlorophyll content was generally increased in all treated leaves. 3. All the treated leaves were higher in GOT activity than the control leaves but were lower in GPT activities. 4. The activities of the carbohydrate metabolism in the mulberry leaves were higher than that of the control in all treated leaves.

  • 비단은 비만을 기초로 한 당뇨병의 초기상태이며, 당내량 손상(IGT)은 당대사가 정상과 당뇨병 사이에 있는 아건강 상태를 말한다. 비단의 병인병기와 임상특징은 당내량 손상과 기본적으로 일치한다. 당내량 손상은 비만환자가 비단을 거쳐 당뇨병으로 발병되는 자연발전과정으로 비단과 당내량 손상의 공통적인 발병인소는 비만이며, 그 병리중심은 비위(脾胃)기능실조로 인한 당내량 이상으로 중의(中醫) 증형(證型)에 있어 허실(虛實)변화가 있다. 비단과 비만형 IGT 증후, 병리방면에서의 발생과 발전의 작용을 탐구하여 조기에 중약(中藥)을 사용하면 체중을 감소시키고 더 나아가 당뇨병을 예방하는데 중요한 임상의의가 있다.

Antidiabetic and Lipid Metabolism Effect of Paediomyces Japonica in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats (눈꽃동충하초(paecilomyces japonica)추출물의 지질대사 및 당대사에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried to investigate the antidiabetic and lipid metabolism of water extract paecilomyces japonica(PJ) in Streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. Diabetes were induced by intravenous injection of STZ at a dose of 42mg/kg dissolved in citrate buffer. The water extract of paecilomyces japonica were orally administrated once a day for 7 days at a dose of 500mg/kg or 1,000mg/kg. The contents of serum glucose, triglyceride(TG), total cholesterol were significantly decreased in PJ treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group. The content of hepatic glycogen and activities of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PDH), glucokinase(GK) were significantly increased, but activity of glucose-6-phoshatase(G-6-Pase) was significantly decreased in PJ treated group compared to the those of STZ-control group. These results indicated that water extract of paecilomyces japonica would have antidiabetic and lipid metabolism effect in STZ-induced diabetic rats.

  • 국립현대미술관은 김중업건축박물관과 공동주최로 건축사 김중업을 조명하는 '김중업 다이얼로그'전을 8월 30일부터 12월 16일까지 국립현대미술관 과천 중앙홀과 2전시실에서 열고 있다. 그가 설계한 30여 년간의 건축물과 관련된 사진과 자료 3000여 점이 전시중이다. 전시는 학예연구사의 안목과 해석작업이 중요하다. 역사와 문화라는 재료를 요리하는 학예연구사의 안목에 따라 그 가치가 빛나거나 그 반대일 수 있는데, 이런 이유로 학예연구사는 전시기획에 대한 권한을 갖고 역사해석, 전시방법 선택 등을 하게 된다. 정다영 학예연구사는 2011년부터 국립현대미술관의 건축부문 학예연구사로 일해 왔다. 올해 베네치아 건축 비엔날레 한국관 공동 큐레이터로 참여해 '스테이트 아방가르드의 유령'전을 기획했으며, 이번 '김중업 다이얼로그'전도 그의 작품이다. 월간 '공간'에서 약 6년간 기자생활을 하고, 학예연구사의 길을 걷고 있는 그녀는 전시라는 매체를 통해 건축의 영역과 담론을 확장 증폭시켜 관계를 맺고 퍼트리는 어쩌면 당대 건축계에 가장 필요한 일을 해주고 있다.

The Effects of Short Term Comprehensive Life Style Modification Program on Glycemic Metabolism, Lipid Metabolism and Body Composition in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (단기간의 포괄적인 생활습관개선 프로그램이 제2형 당뇨병환자의 당대사 및 지질대사와 체구성에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was to evaluate the effects of a short term comprehensive life style modification program on glycemic metabolism, lipid metabolism and body composition in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Method: A nonequivalent control group with a pre post test was designed. Data collection was done from October 2003 to June, 2004 at a hospital. Glycemic metabolism was measured by a.c., p.c. and $HbA_{1}c$, and lipid metabolism was measured by cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Body Composition was measured by body weight, body mass index, waist, measurement waist per hip ratio, body fat, muscle weight and abdominal fat tissue(intra abdominal distance). The Experimental group, which was composed of 29 participants, was educated based on a life style modification protocol at a weekly meeting for 12 weeks and carried out exercise, diet along individual parameters and self monitoring, while 24 participants in the control group received only diet education. Result: 1. The experimental group showed a significant lower a.c.(t=2.11, p=.04) and $HbA_{1}c$(t=2.65, p=.01) compared to those of the control group. 2. The experimental group showed a significant lower LDL than the results of the control group(t=2.42, p=.02). 3. The experimental group showed a significant lower weight(t=3.09, p=.00), BMI(t=3.01, p=.00), body fat(t=2.94, p=.01) and abdominal fat tissue(t=3.05, p=.01) than those of the control group. Conclusion: The results provided evidence for the effectiveness of a short term comprehensive life style modification program composed of exercise, diet, support, self efficacy elevation and self monitoring in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Effects of Mixed Extract from Lycium chinense, Cordyceps militaris, and Acanthopanax senticosus on Glucose-Regulating Enzymes of HepG2 in Hyperglycemic Conditions (지골피, 동충하초, 가시오가피 복합추출물이 고포도당 조건에서 배양한 HepG2 세포의 당대사 관련 효소 활성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the anti-diabetic effects of the mixed water extract (JDG 100) composed of Lycii Cortex, Acanthopanax senticosus and Cordyceps militaris on glucose-regulating key enzymes such as glucokinase (GK), acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC). In the current study, HepG2 cells were exposed to pathological condition such as hyperglycemic condition (4.5 g glucose/L) with JDG 100 and then experiments such as RT-PCR and Western blotting were carried out. JDG 100 treated cells increased to $168{\pm}0.04%$ and $182.4{\pm}0.03%$ in GK mRNA and protein expressions, respectively, compared to control. Treatment of the JDG 100 up-regulated ACC mRNA ($127.3{\pm}0.02%$) and protein ($126.7{\pm}0.24%$) of HepG2 cells in the high glucose media. These observations suggest that JDG 100 mixed water extract may have a potential as an anti-diabetic agent in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
