2007년도에는 그 어느 해보다 많은 변화가 예상된다. 각 단체의 새해구상에서도 대부분 언급되고 있듯이, 도서관법 개정으로 대통령 소속 도서관정보위원회 및 문화부 내 도서관 정책기획단 설립, 광역단체의 지역대표도서관 지정과 지방도서관정보서비스위원회 구성 등 정책시스템의 전면개편 등이 이루어질 것이며, 이로인해 정부와 도서관인들의 노력과 열정이 더 한층 요구된다. 디즈니 전 CEO인 마이클 아이스너는 구성원이 갖고 있는 열정과 창의력에 대한 믿음을 "나는 누구든지 자신의 내면에 깊이 숨겨진 새로운 창조의 원천을 찾을 수 있다고 확신한다. 깊이를 짐작할 수 없는 열정의 원천을 건드릴 때, 그 힘은 기업의 성과에 엄청난 영향을 미칠 것이다." 라고 표현했다. 열정은 또 다른 기회를 만들어 주는 강력한 에너지다. 더욱 발전된 도서관문화를 창출할 수 있는 이 기회를 잘 활용해 2007년에는 내실있고 풍성한 결신을 얻을 수 있기를 바란다.

인공지능(AI)은 지방자치단체 청사의 물리적 보안 시스템을 개선하는 데 활용될 수 있는 유망한 기술이다. 방대한 데이터를 분석하고 패턴을 식별할 수 있어, 테러나 폭력과 같은 위협을 사전에 예방하는데 도움이 될 수 있다. 또한, 인공지능(AI)은 실시간으로 보안 상황을 모니터링하고 이상 징후를 감지할 수 있어, 보안 인력의 업무 효율성을 향상시키고 비용을 절감하는 데에도 도움이 되기에 인공지능(AI)을 적용한 물리적 보안 시스템 개선방안에 대해 제안하고자 한다.

With the recent machine learning paradigm of using nonparametric Bayesian statistics and statistical inference based on random sampling, the Dirichlet distribution finds many uses in a variety of graphical models. It is a multivariate generalization of the gamma distribution and is defined on a continuous (K-1)-simplex. This paper presents a sampling method for a Dirichlet distribution for the problem of dividing an integer X into a sequence of K integers which sum to X. The target samples in our problem are all positive integer vectors when multiplied by a given X. They must be sampled from the correspondingly gridded simplex. In this paper we develop a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) proposal distribution for the neighborhood grid points on the simplex and then present the complete algorithm based on the Metropolis-Hastings algorithm. The proposed algorithm can be used for the Markov model, HMM, and Semi-Markov model for accurate state-duration modeling. It can also be used for the Gamma-Dirichlet HMM to model q the global-local duration distributions.

Public policy responses to the digital/information revolution and the micro-economic reforms that it facilitates have inspired exploration of the scope for local government implementation of digital spatial data handling(DSDH) of information relating to, among other things, asset inventory, environmental and utility management, address management, and planning. The results from these explorations are such that few doubt the value of bringing the public policies to practice, but diffusion rate and pattern of the approaches demonstrated by the scoping experiments will reflect institutional/cultural matters, indicators of the relative significance of which might be at least partly predicted from appraisal of case studies. This argument is exemplified by reference to case studies in adoption of DSDH by local government organizations in Korea and in Australia.
