  • 사과에도 중심(core)이 있고 지구도 지표면과 안으로 중심이 있듯이 인체에도 몸의 중심 부위가 있다. 보통 단전 부위에 무게중심이 있다고 설명을 한다. 단전의 위치에 대해서는 여러 가지 설이 있어 한마디로 정의하기는 어려우나 일반적으로 상단전, 중단전, 하단전으로 분류학 상단전은 뇌 부분, 중단전은 심장에서 명치 부분, 하단전은 배꼽 아래 부분에 있다고 한다. 단전이라고 할 때 약간의 차이는 있지만 아랫배 부근을 가르키며, 기해라고도 한다. 특히 하단전은 모든 경락이 모이는 곳으로서 원기를 저장하는 곳이며 기 흐름의 요체이다. 또한 생명력을 배양하는 곳이자 복식호흡의 기본력이라고 알려져 있다. 그러면 의학적으로는 어떤 것을 신체 중심(core)이라고 이야기 할까?

Comparison of the Effects of Danjeon Breathing and Walking to Blood Lipids, Physical Symptoms and Hemoglobin in Middle Aged Women (중년여성의 혈중 지질농도, 신체증상, 헤모글로빈에 미치는 단전호흡운동과 걷기운동의 효과 비교)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research was to compare the effects of Danjeon Breathing exercise and walking exercise on blood lipids, physical symptoms and hemoglobin of middle-aged women to determine which of these two exercises was more beneficial. Methods: The Danjeon breathing exercise group(20) took health management counseling and performed an eighty-minute Danjeon breathing exercise three times a week for 12 weeks while the walking exercise group(25) took health management counseling and performed a walking exercise seven hours per week for 12 weeks. The control group(20) received only health management counseling. The groups were homogeneous on age, religion, marital status, education, profession, monthly income per household, menopause, smoking, drinking, fat intake and cholesterol intake. Likewise, the groups were homogeneous on total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol,atherogenic index, hemoglobin and physical symptoms. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS PC program and $x^2$-test, ANOVA, repeated measures of ANOVA and LSD. Results: 1. Total cholesterol of the Danjeon breathing exercise group and the walking exercise group were lower than that of the control group. 2. HDL- cholesterol of the Danjeon breathing exercise group and the walking exercise group were not higher than that of the control group. 3. Atherogenic index of the Danjeon breathing exercise group was lower than that of the control group, but atherogenic index of the walking exercise group was not lower than that of the control group. 4. Hemoglobin of the Danjeon breathing exercise group and the walking exercise group were not higher than that of the control group. 5. Physical symptom score of the Danjeon breathing exercise group was lower than those of the walking exercise group and the control group, but Physical symptom score of the walking exercise group was not lower than that of the control group. Conclusion: Danjeon breathing exercise and walking exercise are effective for decreasing total cholesterol of middle-aged women. Danjeon breathing exercise is more effective for decreasing atherogenic index and physical symptoms of middle-aged women than walking exercise.

The degree of agility of the walking exercise group was lower than that of the control group. 2. There were no significant differences on $VO_2max$ and balance among Danjeon breathing exercise group, walking exercise group and control group. In conclusion, Danjeon breathing exercise improves back strength, flexibility and power than walking exercise and walking exercise improves agility than Danjeon breathing exercise.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program on physical fitness, levels of serum lipid and physical symptom of people using public health center at Yangju city. Method: One group pretest-posttest design was utilized for this study. This study has been done from July 6 to September 28, 2005 and the subjects of the study were 28 persons. Danjeon breathing exercise was carried out for 60 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Physical fitness was measured using the Health Management System developed by the Korea Physical Science Institution. Serum lipid level was measured in public health center at Yangju city. Questions of physical symptom (35 items) were chosen from Cornell Medical Index. The collected data were processed by using the SPSS PC program and analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Result: 1. The scores of back strength, flexibility and balance of post-test were more increased after Danjeon breathing exercise than those of pre-test. But the score of muscular endurance of post-test was not significantly increased. 2. The degrees of total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglyceride of post-test were more decreased after Danjeon breathing exercise than those of pre-test. But the degree of HDL-cholesterol of post-test was not significantly increased in statistics. 3. The score of physical symptoms of post-test was not significantly decreased in statistics after Danjeon breathing exercise than that of pre-test. Conclusion: It is concluded that the Danjeon Breathing Exercise Program could increase the physical fitness and decrease levels of serum lipid. So Danjeon breathing exercise could be utilized to promote physical fittness and to decrease level of serun lipids.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Danjeon Breathing Exercise (DBE) on vital capacity, physical fitness, anxiety and depression among older adults. Methods: This study employed the nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The experimental group participated in a 12-week DBE program. Vital capacity and physical fitness were measured with a health measurement system (HELMAS). Anxiety and depression were measured with SCL-90-R-K. Data were collected from 37 community-dwelling older adults (experimental group=21, control group=16) in the Seoul metropolitan area. The data were analyzed by $x^2$-test, Mann-Whitney test and ANCOVA. Results: The experimental group taking DBE reported significant increases in flexibility than the control group, but differences in vital capacity and balance were not significant. Older adults taking DBE showed significant decreases in the anxiety and depression levels. Conclusion: A DBE program may be a useful nursing intervention for older adults to improve their flexibility and to reduce anxiety and depression.

  • This study was to examine the effects of the Dan-Jun Breathing Exercise Program on pulmonary function and psychological health promotion of women in midlife. Method: Experimental group(20) was matched to control group(20) according to age, education, religion and marital status. The Dan-Jun Breathing Exercise Program was carried out for 80 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. FVC and FEV1.0/FVC(%) were measured by using the Health Management System developed by the Korean Physical Science Institution. The scores of depression, anxiety and hostility were measured by the Korean Manual of Symptoms-Checklist -90 revision. Result: 1) FVC of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, FEV1.0/FVC(%) was not higher than that of the control group. 2) The scores for depression, anxiety and hostility in the experimental group were lower than those of the control group. 3) FVC of 6 weeks and 12 weeks experiment in the experimental group was higher than that of pre-experimental group. Conclusion: The Dan-Jun Breathing Exercise Program promotes the Pulmonary function and psychological health of women in midlife.

Effects of Dan-jun Breathing Exercise Program Experienced by Women in Midlife (단전호흡 운동프로그램에 참여한 중년여성의 운동효과에 대한 경험)

  • Purpose : This study focused on affirming of the effects of Dan-jun breathing exercise experienced by women in midlife. Method: The data were collected via direct interview from 20 participants, who participated in a Dan-Jun exercise program during three months. Collected data were analyzed by content analysis. Result : 1. As for the health problems of women in midlife before the Dan-jun exercise program, 93 items were extracted in the content analysis These items were categorized into 59 attributes and 15 higher attributes. 1) Of the 59 attributes of health problems, shoulder pain (30%) was the most dominant. 2) The 15 higher attributes consisted for the physical domain of, weakness, pain, joint stiffness, sexual problem, sleep disorder, gastro-intestinal disorder. menstrual irregularity. circulatory disorder, respiratory disorder. constipation, urinary incontinence, and for the psychological domain, anger, emptiness, depression, and anxiety. 2. As for the effects experienced by women in midlife after the Dan-jun exercise program, 169 items were extracted in the content analysis. These items were categorized into 85 attributes and 14 higher attributes. 1) Of 85 attributes, lightening of physical condition (55%) was the most dominant. 2) The higher attributes consisted in physical domain of, recovery of vigor, pain relief, menstrual regularity and improvements in flexibility. sexual problem, sleep disorder, gastro-intestinal disorder, circulatory disorder constipation, respiratory disorder and urinary incontinence, and for the psychological domain, relaxation, cultured mind and self-confidence. Conclusions : Dan-jun breathing exercise program for three months showed positive effects on physical and psychological health in women in midlife. In this context, it can be also considered as a significant nursing intervention for maintenance and promotion of the health of these women.

  • This paper will concentrates on martialarts acting system. I will sugest a kind of actor's training system for the safe method of action acting. In this study I solve the following problems. First, what is main factors to interfere with performer to act and how do they get rid of factors. Second, what is very economic and effective challenge to develope the new acting system for action acting performers. For this discussion I studied four parts. The first, I gives purpose and direction of the safe for martialarts actor. The second, I traces the development of contemporary idea of acting such as Stanislavsky and Meyerhold. The third I introduces Korean martialarts training system. The last I conclude which refer to effective action acting by result of training 'Korean traditional martialarts acting system'.

The Effect of the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program Applied to Health Promotion in Women in Midlife (중년여성의 건강증진을 위한 단전호흡 운동프로그램의 적용 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program for health promotion and to examine the effects of a DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program on the physical and emotional health promotion of women in midlife. The design utilized for this study was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. This study was done between February 1 and July 4, 2000 and the subjects of the study were 40 women in midlife living in Seoul. There were 20 members in experimental group who participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program and 20 members in the control group who were chosen as matched to members of the experimental group according to age, education and religion. The DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was carried out for 80 minutes a day, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. The percent of body fat, back strength, flexibility (trunk flexion), balance and vital capacity were measured using the Health Management System developed by the Korea Physical Science Institution. Blood tests were done at D infirmary for total cholesterol, and the atherogenic index was calculated using an established formula. The scores of anxiety and depression were measured by a questionnaire with 10 questions on anxiety and 13 questions on depression. It was developed from the Korean Manual of Symptoms-Checklist-90 revision. The collected data were processed using the SPSS PC program and analyzed using $\chi^2$-test and t-test. The result of this study are as follows : 1. The percent of body fat for the experimental group who participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was lower than that of the control group. 2. The degree of back strength, flexibility (trunk flexion) and balance of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 3. The vital capacity of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program was higher than that of the control group. 4. The total cholesterol level and atherogenic index of the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. 5. The scores for anxiety and depression in the experimental group that participated in the DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program were lower than those of the control group. In conclusion, DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program promotes the physical and emotional health of women in midlife. The DanJeon Breathing Exercise Program can be utilized as a nursing intervention for the promotion of health in women in midlife.

A study on Yang Shi Tai Chi Chuan in Bartenieff Fundamentals Perspectives (바티니에프 기본원리를 통해 본 양식 태극권에 관한 연구)

  • This research is based on using Bartenieff Fundamentals to analyze the fundamentals of Tai Chi Chuan's movements in order to develop the methods of relaxation from Tai Chi Chuan's principle movement movements It also shows that the two techniques have commonalities in many ways. First of all, taking a philosophical approach on the body movements of Tai Chi Chuan and Bartenieff, for both methods the ultimate goal is the integration of mind and body. In other words, there is a thread of connection between the East's body and mind monism and the west's Body Awareness. Secondly, looking at it from a Breath Support standpoint as used in the Bartenieff method, the two methods both use the breathing to naturally move the body and relax the body. In Tai Chi Chuan the Breath is the basis of life and the strength of the Body. So the breathing of Tai Chi chuan is what makes body and mind communicate, harmonize and integrate. In other words, Breathing in Tai Chi is realized through mental fusion and affects the movements. This is the same as the Breath Support of Bartenieff. It is said that in every aspect the Breath Support of Bartenieff influences the movement and changes both the inner and outer form of the body. Thirdly, looking at the Core Support used in the Bartenieff method, both methods emphasize core. At the same time of moving and being conscious of one's core, the usage of muscles can be deeper rather than superficial and this enables strong and flexible movement. In Tai Chi Chuan abdominal muscles used when one coughs are consciously engaged through abdominal breathing and so strength is collected in the core. When one exercises like that the core becomes more stable and breathing becomes more smooth. Fourthly, analyzing the Rotary Factor used in the Bartenieff Fundamentals, they both use rotary movement to reach the goal of physical relaxation. The rotation factor of Bartenieff allows movement to be easier and more free because of the characteristic of joint exercise where the center axis moved in three dimensions, this is the same in Tai Chi chuan. According to Tai Chi chuan's circle and Spiral Movements, it can achieve the relaxation through switching into a seamless flow and access space as much as possible. Finally, when looking at Developmental Patterning through Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen's Body-Mind Centering Work theory, presented from Bartenieff developmental model are similar with the developmental process of Tai Chi chuan Breath, Core-Distal Connectivity/Navel Radiation, Head-Tail Connectivity/Spinal Movement, Upper-Lower Connectivity/Homologous, Body-Half Connectivity/Homo-Lateral Connectivity, Cross-Lateral Connectivity/Contra-Lateral Connectivity. They are all similar. In other words, in Tai Chi Chuan energy is gathered in the core through breathing, upper and lower body are connected through the spine, not only homo-laterally but also cross-laterally. Through this study the expression of the dance movements can be more natural. Additionally based on the Body Awareness balance usage of the central axis, joints and body can develop the relax technique.
