Frequency allocation method for an inter-cell interference management on 3GPP LTE systems (3GPP LTE 시스템에서 셀간 간섭관리를 위한 주파수 할당 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new frequency allocation method for improvement of edge and low 5% user throughputs. Although many kinds of inter cell interference mitigation methods have been proposed, those have still high complexity of implementation. The proposed algorithm has lower complexity and higher edge user throughput than conventional algorithms since the same frequency allocation method is applied in all cell. Finally, we analyze and compare the edge and low 5% user throughputs using a system level simulation (SLS).

  • In conventional single-tier networks, downlink based association is the best association scheme for the uplink association because all macro base stations have the same physical specification. However, in uplink heterogeneous cellular networks, a downlink based cell association cannot be the best for uplink any more because of the difference of physical specification between the different base station. In this paper, we will propose a uplink based cell association scheme, and devise performance metric for describing a uplink performance in heterogeneous cellular networks. Then, we will discuss the necessity of the uplink based association by observing outage probability, delay constraint outage probability, delay constraint outage capacity.

  • This paper analyzes the output signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) for a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system with minium mean square error receivers in multi-cell environments. A previous work in single cell environments is extended into analysis in multi-cell environments. The use of Haar unitary code matrix for asymptotic analysis causes other cell interferences expressed with a diagonal matrix haying different diagonal values. This paper shows that other cell interferences converge to an identity matrix whose gain is expressed by only other cell interference power in mean square sense and finds asymptotic deterministic SINRs for a given other cell interference. Under the assumption that the sum of lognormal fading components is distributed by other lognormal function, we show the comparison between theoretical performances and simulations from the view point of bit error rate and present average throughput performance according to the cell radius.

  • This paper presents a highly efficient power management system for UAV-drones. For free from the battery cell-balancing issue, the proposed system allows the drone to utilize a single-cell Li-Po battery. To realize low-voltage input of 3.7V, the switch-mode step-up DC-DC converter is optimally designed with high power efficiency. The prototype DC-DC converter was implemented with an output voltage of 5V, which will be provided to digital parts of the drone. The power efficiency was measured to be max. 91.3% with low surface temperature. The measured line and load regulations were 0.02V/V and 0.15V/A, respectively. Thanks to the proposed power management system, the available time-to-fly of the drone is expected to be significantly extended in virtue of the enhanced power efficiency.

  • This paper describes the design process of a six-component force/torque (F/T) sensor. The new six-component F/T sensor having leaf spring ends has been developed using a cross beam structure as the basic sensing element. Fundamental strain analysis of both ends fixed beam having a leaf spring structure is performed by finite element analysis. In order to obtain similar output sensing strains from the six component loads and minimize coupling strains, the optimal location of strain gages is determined and the strain gages are connected so that the bridge circuits with four strain gages would be balanced. Using leaf spring ends instead of rigid fixed ends, remarkable increment in output sensing strain can be achieved for two component forces. Several modifications in design result in a similar sensing strain of approximately $400\;{\mu}m/m$ for the six-component forces and moments, and a reduced coupling strain of $0\;{\mu}m/m$ between the forces and moments.

  • 본 논문에서는 DC 배전 시스템을 위한 새로운 다중 모드 단일 인덕터 회로를 제안한다. 제안하는 컨버터는 벅 컨버터에 배터리 스위칭 셀이 병합된 구조로서, 단일 인덕터를 사용하여 두 개의 출력 제어가 가능하다. 기존의 회로와 비교해보았을 때, 전체 소자수가 증가하였음에도 불구하고 감소한 인덕터 개수로 인해 전체 시스템의 가격 저감에 효과적이며 높은 전력밀도를 달성할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new sorting algorithm for ATM switch with a shared buffer which has a sequencer architecture with single queue. The proposed switch performs a sorting procedure of ATM cell based on the output port number of ATM cell with hardware implementation. The proposed architecture has a single buffer physically but logically it has function of multi-queue which is designed at most to control the conflicts in output port. In the future, this architecture will take various applications for routing switch and has flexibility for the extension of system structure. therefore, this structure is expected on good structure in effective transmission.

  • This paper proposes a cross-tier interference avoidance scheme to improve femtocell performance in single frequency heterogeneous cellular networks (SFHCN). The scheduled macrocell users located close femtocell base stations cause serious interference to those femtocells so that the performance of femtocell is dramatically deteriorated. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an interference avoidance scheme by reversing the uplink and downlink frames of such femtocells. After reversing the uplink and downlink frames, femtocell base station relays the macrocell user data as well as transmitting its own data. In the 1st relaying link, femtocell and macrocell users transmit their data respectively divided uplink frames and in the 2nd relaying link, femtocell base station transmit macrocell and femtocell data using a simultaneously superposition coding scheme. Computer simulation results confirm performance improvement of proposed scheme.

  • 본 논문에선느 ATM 통신망을 위한 여러 ATM 스위치 모델들 중에서, 내부적으로 블록킹(blocking)이 없고 입출력 단에 각각 버퍼가 할당되어 있는 입출력 버퍼형 교환기에 대하여 연구하였다. 기존에서 스위치 스피드-업(Switch Speed-up) 기법하에서 주로 연구가 이루어졌다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 유니폼 트래픽하에서 Output-port Expansion 기법을 사용한 귀환.손실 모드 및 하이브리드 모드하에서의 셀 손실률을 비교 분석하였다. Output-port Expansion 기법은, 한 타임 슬롯동안에 입력포트 당 하나의 셀만 교환되며, 만약 하나 이상의 셀들이 같은 출력포트로 향하면, 최대 교환되는 셀 수를 K(Output-port Expansion Ratio)개로 제한하는 방식이다. 유니폼 트래픽(uniform random traffic) 하에서 각 모드에 따른 셀 손실률을 비교 분석한 결과, 로드 0.9를 기점으로, 0.9이하의 로드에서는 하이브리드 모드가, 0.9이상의 로드에서는 손실모드가 가장 낮은 셀 손실률을 보인다.

무선 ATM 망의 버스트 오류에 대한 효율적인 전송 방식에 관한 연구

  • 향후 전개될 멀티미디어 정보화 사회 구축을 위한 가장 적합한 통신 방식은 ATM (비동기 전송 방식)으로 음성, 영상, 데이터를 실시간, 비실시간 데이터로 구분하여 복합적으로 전송할 수 있다. 또한 유선 ATM 망은 이동성을 보장하는 무선 ATM 망으로 확장되어질 수 있다. 유선 ATM 망과 무선 ATM 망의 차이점은 이동성과 전송 환경의 특성으로 발생하는 오류 확율이다. 현재 무선 ATM 망에서 증가된 오류율을 유선 ATM 망의 수준으로 감소시키기 위한 여러 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 전송 환경의 버스트 오류에 효과적인 인터리빙 기법을 무선 전송단의 한정된 대역폭에 할당되는 ATM 셀의 가상 회선/경로의 수만 감소시켜 일반 ATM 셀과의 연동성을 보장하는 Modified 셀에 적용을 제안하였고 일반 ATM 셀 전송과 비교하여 성능 향상에 대하여 평가하였다. 모의실험 결과 제안된 기법은 버스트 오류 환경에서 셀 손실율이 버스트 오류의 크기에 따라 효율적으로 감소되며 또한 이중 헤더 적용으로 셀 손실율을 감소시킴을 알 수 있었다. 본 기법은 인터리빙과 이중헤더의 사용으로 추가되는 오버헤더가 없으며, H-ARQ를 적용했을 때 불가능한 실시간 데이터 서비스에도 적합하다는 장점이 있다.
