A Topic Classification System Based on Clue Expressions for Person-Related Questions and Passages (단서표현 기반의 인물관련 질의-응답문 문장 주제 분류 시스템)

  • In general, Q&A system retrieves passages by matching terms of a question in order to find an answer to the question. However it is difficult for Q&A system to find a correct answer because too many passages are retrieved and matching using terms is not enough to rank them according to their relevancy to a question. To alleviate this problem, we introduce a topic for a sentence, and adopt it for ranking in Q&A system. We define a set of person-related topic class and a clue expression which can indicate a topic of a sentence. A topic classification system proposed in this paper can determine a target topic for an input sentence by using clue expressions, which are manually collected from a corpus. We explain an architecture of the topic classification system and evaluate the performance of the components of this system.

The Effect of Heuristic Cues on the Intention to Watch Contents in Searching Information on YouTube (유튜브 내의 휴리스틱 단서들이 정보검색 콘텐츠 시청의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to examine the role of IT features as heuristic cues in choosing a content on YouTube. According to the heuristic-systematic model, people tend to rely on heuristic cues when they have to choose and process useful information quickly so that they could save time and reduce demands for thinking. Based on this line of reasoning, this study posits that YouTube users rely on certain IT features as heuristic cues in choosing contents before they actually watch them. Based on the prior literature and interviews with YouTube users, we develop a research model in which social endorsement, self-presentation, and interactivity are identified as potential determinants of users' attitude toward contents, which in turn influence their intention to watch them. To empirically test the research model, we conduct a laboratory experiment and a follow-up survey. The results of data analysis show that social endorsement for the content, YouTube creator's self-presentation, and interactivity have significant and positive effects on their attitude toward the content, leading to their intention to watch it. This study suggests that IT features on YouTube could be wisely utilized to increase the chance that users choose a particular content out of many competing contents when they search certain information on YouTube.

Adaptive Depth Fusion based on Reliability of Depth Cues for 2D-to-3D Video Conversion (2차원 동영상의 3차원 변환을 위한 깊이 단서의 신뢰성 기반 적응적 깊이 융합)

  • 3D video is regarded as the next generation contents in numerous applications. The 2D-to-3D video conversion technologies are strongly required to resolve a lack of 3D videos during the period of transition to the full ripe 3D video era. In 2D-to-3D conversion methods, after the depth image of each scene in 2D video is estimated, stereoscopic video is synthesized using DIBR (Depth Image Based Rendering) technologies. This paper proposes a novel depth fusion algorithm that integrates multiple depth cues contained in 2D video to generate stereoscopic video. For the proper depth fusion, it is checked whether some cues are reliable or not in current scene. Based on the result of the reliability tests, current scene is classified into one of 4 scene types and scene-adaptive depth fusion is applied to combine those reliable depth cues to generate the final depth information. Simulation results show that each depth cue is reasonably utilized according to scene types and final depth is generated by cues which can effectively represent the current scene.

Importance of Dynamic Cue in Silhouette-Based Gait Recognition (실루엣 기반 걸음걸이 인식 방법에서 동적 단서의 중요성)

  • As a human identification technique, gait recognition has recently gained significant attention. Silhouette-based gait recognition is one of the most popular methods. This paper aims to investigate features that determine the style of walking in silhouette-based gait recognition. Gait can be represented using two cues: static(shape) cue and dynamic(motion) cue. Most recently, research results have been reported in the literature that the characteristics of gait are mainly determined by static cue but not affected by dynamic cue. Unlike this, experimental results in this paper verifies that dynamic cue is as important as and in many cases more important than static cue. For experiments, we use two well-blown gait databases: UBC DB and Southampton Small DB. The images of UBC DB correspond to the 'ordinary' style of walking. The images of Southampton Small DB correspond to the 'disguised' (not ordinary by wearing special clothes or bags) style of walking. As results of experiments, the recognition rate was 100% by static cue and $95.2\%$ by dynamic cue for the images of UBC DB. For the images of Southampton Small DB, the recognition rate was $50.0\%$ by static cue and $55.8\%$ by dynamic cue. The risk against correct recognition was 0.91 by static cue and 0.97 by dynamic cue for the images of UBC DB. For the images of Southampton Small DB, the risk was 0.98 by static cue and 0.98 by dynamic cue. Consequently, the characteristics of ordinary gait are mainly determined by static cue but that of disguised gait by dynamic cue.

  • 속성기반 감성 분석은 텍스트 내에 존재하는 속성에 대해 세분화된 감성 분석을 수행하는 과제를 말한다. 세분화된 감성분석을 정확하게 수행하기 위해서는 텍스트에 존재하는 감성 표현과 그것이 수식하는 대상에 대한 정보가 반드시 필요하다. 그리고 순서대로 두 가지 정보는 이후 정보를 텍스트에서 추출하기 위해 중요한 단서가 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 KorBERT와 Bi-LSTM을 이용한 단계적 특징을 활용한 다중 작업 학습 모델을 사용하여 한국어 감성 분석 말뭉치의 감성 표현과 대상을 추출하는 작업을 수행하였다. 제안한 모델을 한국어 감성 분석 말뭉치로 학습 및 평가한 결과, 감성 표현 추출 작업의 출력을 추가적인 특성으로 전달하여 대상 추출 작업의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

Constructing Tagged Corpus and Cue Word Patterns for Detecting Korean Hedge Sentences (한국어 Hedge 문장 인식을 위한 태깅 말뭉치 및 단서어구 패턴 구축)

  • A hedge is a linguistic device to express uncertainties. Hedges are used in a sentence when the writer is uncertain or has doubt about the contents of the sentence. Due to this uncertainty, sentences with hedges are considered to be non-factual. There are many applications which need to determine whether a sentence is factual or not. Detecting hedges has the advantage in information retrieval, and information extraction, and QnA systems, which make use of non-hedge sentences as target to get more accurate results. In this paper, we constructed Korean hedge corpus, and extracted generalized hedge cue-word patterns from the corpus, and then used them in detecting hedges. In our experiments, we achieved 78.6% in F1-measure.

  • Ein Schlagwort "die Vierte Industrielle Revolution" ist mehrdeutig und sehr unterschiedlich verstanden. Die Fragestellung, was die wesentlichen und allgemein anerkannten Elemente der "vierten industriellen Revolution", bezieht sich bisher auf neue Technologie oder Produkten wie $K{\ddot{u}}nstliche$ Intelligenz(K.I), autonomes Fahren, Internet der Dinge(IdD), 3D-Drucker usw. Unter einem historischen Gesichtspunkt bzw. der Geschichte der Industiriellen Revolution gibt es jedoch eine $Parallelit{\ddot{a}}t$ der rechtlichen Fragen, bsw. die Gefahrenabwehr, technische Kodifikation, Selbstregulierung, Internationalisierung des Technikrechts. Der Versuch, die Vierte Industrielle Revolution nur mit den neuen Technologie oder Produkten zu verstehen, kann nicht die Differenzierung zwischen jeden Stufen der industriellen Revolution konsequent $erkl{\ddot{a}}ren$. Dass die rechtliche Fragen der Vierten Industriellen Revolution angemessen behandelt, verlangt $zun{\ddot{a}}chst$ einen $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt Digitalisierung als $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$ voraus. Mit diesem $Schl{\ddot{u}}sselbegriff$ beleuchtet hier die Herausforderung des Verwaltungsrechts in der Zeitwende, wie die $Anpassungsf{\ddot{a}}higkeit$ und $Steuerungsf{\ddot{a}}higkeit$ des Rechts.

Color-Based Image Retrieval and Lacalization using Color Vector Angle (칼라 벡터각을 이용한 칼라 기반 영상 검색과 위치 추정)

  • 칼라가 물체 인식에 아주 효율적인 단서를 제공하지만 칼라 분포는 시청 조건과 카메라의 위치에 아주 큰 영향을 받는다. 생김새와 모양의 변화에 의한 칼라 분포 변화 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 밝기 값의 변화에 영향을 받지 않고, 색상(hue) 성분에 민감한 칼라 벡터각(color vector angle)을 이용하여 칼라 에지를 추출한 후, 영상의 화소들을 평탄 화소와 에지 화소로 구분하여 칼라 특징 값을 추출하였다. 에지 화소의 경우에는 에지 주위 칼라 쌍의 전체 분포를 HLS 색좌표계의 비균일 양자화를 통해 칼라 인접 히스토그램(color adjacency histogram)으로 표현하고, 평탄 화소의 경우에는 HLS 색좌표계의 비균일 양자화와 칼라 벡터각 균일 양자화를 통해 칼라 벡터각 히스토그램(color vector angle histogram)을 구성하여 공간적인 칼라분포를 표현하였다. 제안한 칼라 히스토그램을 이용하여 영상 검색에 적용하여 성능을 실험한 결과, 작은 빈의 수를 가지는 제안한 방법이 기존의 방법들보다 훨씬 효율적이고, 생김새와 모양의 변화에 아주 강건한 영상 검색이 가능하였고, 기존의 칼라 히스토그램 역투사 방법보다 훨씬 정확한 물체 위치 추정이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

The Congruent Effects of Gesture and Facial Expression of Virtual Character on Emotional Perception: What Facial Expression is Significant? (가상 캐릭터의 몸짓과 얼굴표정의 일치가 감성지각에 미치는 영향: 어떤 얼굴표정이 중요한가?)

  • In the design and develop a virtual character, it is important to correctly deliver target emotions generated by the combination of facial expression and gesture. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of congruent/incongruent between gesture and facial expression on target emotion. In this study four emotions, joy, sadness, fear, and anger, are applied. The results of study showed that sadness emotion were incorrectly perceived. Moreover, it was perceived as anger instead of sadness. Sadness can be easily confused when facial expression and gestures were simultaneously presented. However, in the other emotional status, the intended emotional expressions were correctly perceived. The overall evaluation of virtual character's emotional expression was significantly low when joy gesture was combined with sad facial expression. The results of this study suggested that emotional gesture is more influential correctly to deliver target emotions to users. This study suggested that social cues like gender or age of virtual character should be further studied.
