Microcontroller based Single-phase SRM Drive with High Power Factor (마이크로 콘트롤러기반의 고역률형 단상 SRM 구동)

  • A novel high power factor drive of a single-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) is researched. It achieves sinusoidal and near unity power factor input currents. The proposed SRM drive has one additional active switches. And a single-stage approach has a simple structure and low cost. A prototype to drive an SRM equipping a suitable encoder is designed to evaluate the proposed topology. The characteristics and validity of the proposed circuit is discussed with some simulations and experimental results.

  • The single phase switched reluctance motor has simple, robust structure and economical drive system. So, it is useful to apply in the industrial and home applied machines. Especially, the single phase induction motor, used much in field, has a low efficiency and control ability. For the replacement of it, the single phase SRM is presented. In this paper, the design and characteristics of single phase SRM considering the rotor shape will be presented in the base of general electric motor design method and poly phase SRM design method.

  • This paper proposes a new driving scheme for single-phase SRM. The driving scheme is very simple and inexpensive. By use of this scheme, simple power devices based on low switching losses enable to high efficiency SRM drive. Starting, One of the main problem in single-phase SRM is overcame by a new starting algorithm with one hall sensor and a parting magnet. The proposed single phase SRM has a high efficiency and robust drive characteristics compared to that of a universal motor.

  • Single-phase SRM is cost competitive because it can reduce the number of switches for small, low-cost applications. However, since the single-phase SRM is difficult to start itself, methods for realizing self-starting by using auxiliary magnet or auxiliary pole have been studied. Recently, a method of self-starting by changing the shape of the rotor with a saturable area has been proposed. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the magnetic structure of single phase 6/6 SRM with a saturable rotor and to improve the magnetic structure of rotor with a saturable area. For this magnetic analysis, FLUX2D, a finite element method analysis program, was used.

  • In this paper the characteristic analysis of a single-phase switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive system with power factor correction (PFC) circuit is presented. The SRM is a low cost, simple and has a good high speed performance. The SRM drive with diode rectifier and filter capacitor has a low power factor because of short switch on time of capacitor. A novel switching topologic is presented to improve power factor and reduce torque ripple based on analysis of PFC circuit. Accordingly the SRM drive system with PFC circuit is also presented. Through the numerical analysis of the system, the toque ripple, power factor and efficiency with the change of rotary speed, load torque and capacity of the capacitor are achieved and compared with actual measured value.

  • Cost reduction requires lowering number of power devices used in the converter driving SRM. This is quite feasible in SRM drive systems than in other drive systems. This paper deals with analysis and simulation of a novel two phase SRM. A novel two phase SRM has high performance, self-starling capability, high efficiency, and low manufacturing cost. Additionally, the stator back iron does not experience any flux reversal as the flux is in the same direction whether phase A or B is excited leading to a greater reduction in core losses. The magnetic analysis and design considerations of the novel two phase SRM have been obtained by the finite element analysis (FEM).

  • A singl-phase power factor corrected converter for switched reluctance motor hive is presented to achieve a sinusoidal and new unity power factor input currents. Because it combines a power factor corrected converter and a conventional asymmetric SRM driver into one power stage, the configuration has a simple structure resulted in low cost. A prototype to drive 6/6 poles SRM employing a parking magnet Is designed to evaluate the proposed topology. The characteristics and operational mode will be discussed in depth, and the validity of proposed driver will be verified through the experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 역기전력을 이용하여 단상 스위치드 릴럭턴스 모터의 회전자 위치 추정법과 구동 법을 제안한다. 단상 SRM은 일반 모터와 비교하여 구조가 매우 간단하고 3상 모터와 비교하여 권선결선이 간결하며, 스위칭 소자가 적게 사용되므로 드라이버회로가 간단하여 가격이 저렴한 특징을 가지고 있다. 이러한 SRM을 구동하기위해서는 필수적으로 회전자의 위치정보를 알아야 한다. 일반적으로 회전자의 위치를 검출하기 위하여 회전자 위치센서를 사용한다. 그러나 대부분의 위치 센서들은 복잡하고 시스템에 구축비용을 증가 시킬 뿐만 아니라 구동시스템의 신뢰도를 저하시키는 경향이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 역기전력을 이용한 회전자의 특정위치 검출방법을 제안하였으며 이에 적합한 스위칭을 통해 SRM을 구동하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 제안한 방법의타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents a method of detecting rotor position for single phase Switched Reluctance Motors(SRMs) using a search coil. In the single phase SRM, mainly Hall effect sensors or photo interrupters have been used to detect the rotor position. But these sensors have many disadvantages. In this paper, low cost and robust characteristics of rotor position detection method are focused in order to compensate for disadvantage of existing sensors. Search coils wound around the stator pole are used for detection of the rotor position in single phase SRM. Rotor position detection is achieved through electromotive force patterns induced by time-varying flux linkage in the search coil. The simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed method in this paper.

  • 본 논문은 비균일 공극형 단상 4/4극 하이브리드 스위치드릴럭턴스 전동기(이하, HSRM)를 제안한다. 제안된 HSRM의 회전자 형상은 비균일한 공극을 갖는 형상으로 데드존 구간과 토크리플, 출력특성에 기여한다. 이와 같은 특성을 검증하기 위해 균일한 공극을 갖는 단상 하이브리드 SRM의 토크 및 출력특성을 유한요소해석(FEA)을 통해 비교하였다. 그 결과 제안된 HSRM을 제작하였고 시험 결과를 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다.
